The Girl's Poetic

About Me

Natalie

“Multi-gifted” is the best way to describe this exceptional talent. Natalie S. Walker is a prolific writer in several spheres including Songwriting and Poetry, a noted background singer, and a highly valued promoter/producer. Miss Walker, a Native New Yorker, graduated in the Honor Society double majoring in Vocal performance and Music Business. In 1998, this multi-faceted lyrical dynamo completed a book of poetry titled “N’Sight to See” and presented it at a full length Poetry Exhibit. Her Poetry has been described as “elevating” “rousing” and “filled with genuine emotion”. Her book of “Mirror Poetry”, a phrase coined by Miss Walker, is a series of poems repeated daily to build your self-esteem, to enlighten and remind you of your worth and value. Natalie used her experience in the music field to further her passion for writing and she co-wrote the theme song of the UPN hit television series, Half & Half. Two of her songs have also been featured on Showtime at the Apollo. While in College, aside from singing and writing poetry and songs, Natalie earned money writing bios, resumes and press kits. Her work was so accomplished she was published in several periodicals including The NY Times, The Village Voice, Musician’s Exchange, Rap Pages, Caribbean Life, Island Ear, and Good Times. Coming from a Musical family, the stage was always a part of Natalie’s life. She started performing, recording and writing semi-professionally in a group she formed in her early teens and they won several contests performing throughout the tri-state area, including being the guest artist for “Queens Day” at the Home of the Worlds Fair, for 3 consecutive years. As a background Vocalists, Natalie S. Walker was blessed to gain a wide range of experience by working with several artists in several arenas. In 1993 With Superstar, Mariah Carey, Miss Walker worked as a Choir Vocalist and participated in several shows including, VH1 Divas, American Music Awards, NBA All-Star Game Half-Time tribute to Michael Jordan, Rosie O’donnel Show, David Letterman, MTV Christmas Special-with Bill Bellamy, 106 and Park-BET Christmas, London’s Top of the Pops, Butterfly Tour-After Show, Rainbow Tour and Mariah Carey Tour 1993 MSG. Natalie joined Legend Don Henley for spot shows on his Inside Job Tour 2000. New Kids on the Block lead singer Joey McIntyre utilized her talents for the Rosie O’donnel Show and Music Beat Tour with N’sync and The Fugees. You can find her vocals on Jessica Simpson’s CD, Irresistible. Natalie has also done several NYC live shows with Marc Anthony and can be seen in HBO's award winning"Angel's in America".She ventured into the business side of the entertainment industry independently after interning at the booking agency responsible for Eddie Murphy’s start. Her first major production in 1996 (Edwin Yearwood & Krosfyah) earned her offers from the groups management and booking agent to help promote the group and other Caribbean Artists. Currently, under her company, “The Girl’s Poetic”, Natalie has successfully promoted Concerts, Poetry Exhibits, Fairs, Expo’s, Black History Month Shows, Serenades and Fashion Shows. She looks forward to promoting the New York stop of "More Than A Song" a show featuring Melonie Daniels, Marvin Scott, Chris Epps and Natalie Walker that combines Opera, R&B, Gospel, Poetry, Jazz and showtunes. The aptitude and broad range of skills that Miss Natalie S. Walker displays, will surely propel her into her perfect season to shine.
