About Me

BIOGRAPHY Antonio Fusco was born in Solofra (AV) in August the 27th 1979. He begins to approach to music from the childhood thanks his father Silvio (ex drummer), which gives him his first instrument one beautifulst Ludwig.
At 10 years has already the opportunity to play with various band, exhibiting in multiple manifestations.
At 14 years begins to study with the teacher Rocco Salzano near the Cooperativa Musicisti Campani of Roccapiemonte (SA).
At 16 years his completes the studies near the C.M.C., decide to move to Milan where he begins to study with the teacher Walter Calloni and reading at first sight with the teacher Ruggero Pazzaglia.
In 1999 he has had the honor to collaborate with one of the greater representatives of Senegalese music: the percussionist and singer Doudou N’djaie M’Bengue, of whose group made part Mor N’ Gom (percussionist famous for his collaborations with Dodou N’ Djaie Rose and Youssou N’ Dour), Vincenzo Virgillito (Mario Venuti) on the electric bass , Tony Brundo(C. Consoli, M. Nava) on the keyboards , and Seba Gibilisco on the guitar. With they he has carried out an intense concert activity, between which participation to Trenta ore per la vita, Matisse Festival, and many others..
He has played and collaborates with artists and musicians which: Attilio Zanchi, Garrison Fewell, Patrick Djivas (P.F.M.), Bebo Ferra, Dado Moroni, Tullio De Piscopo, Gigi Cifarelli, Aida Cooper, Papa Winnie, Marco Mangelli, Toni Casuscelli, Tonino De Sensi, Ernesto Ghezzi, Flavio Scopaz (E. Ramazzotti), Charles Flores (M. Camilo),Mark Harrison(Napoli Centrale),Dario De Idda, Gendrixon Mena (G. In the spring of 2004 the maximum scholarship participates to the auditions held from the Berklee College of Music, to Paris, obtaining in order to attend the prestigious College of Boston.
In summer/autunm 2004 is in tour with Paolo Vallesi
In 2006 begins collaboration like drummer-percussionist, with the harpist Desirèe Dell’ Amore, the plan "Il Giardino dei sogni". In this occasion Antonio develops a style and very original drum set.
In september 2006, like drummer-percussionist, he records on musics of Gino Marcelli (Madreblù) for the new film AMPLAGGHED of Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, spacing from the jazz to the rock, the tarantella to the Hollywoodian Big Band. "Amplagghed al cinema" represents an only case in Italy: for before the time, in fact, a teatrale show has been resumed with television cameras to high recorded definition and with the Dolby system Digitalis-with the direction of Rinaldo Gaspari. Pilot Jazou e' diventato uno dei nomi di spicco della scena nu-jazz italiana. Dopo le rinomate collaborazioni con Nicola Conte, Buscemi, Parov Stelar e Kirk De Giorgio, il combo sforna finalmente uno splendido secondo album, gia' anticipato da due singoli, che hanno sedotto i djs piu' influenti del globo! "More Time" e' frutto di un intenso lavoro di gruppo durato circa due anni, che ha coinvolto ben dieci musicisti e otto cantanti, fra Italia e Stati Uniti. Eleganti piu' che mai, questa volta i Pilot Jazou aggiungono al loro suono una dose massiccia di strumenti acustici. Una big band che esprime attraverso quattordici ricchissime tracce, estrema vitalita'. Un grande richiamo ai colori piu' intensi dell'estate. Il cd include un superbo remix di 'I Kill Myself', ad opera del noto producer austriaco Parov Stelar! I Pilot Jazou sono presenti anche nel film record d'incassi "Ho Voglia Di Te", con il brano "More Time", che commenta la cena di Riccardo Scamarcio e Laura Chiatti al Supper Club, prima della loro prima lunga notte d'amore...

Pilot Jazou have become one of the key figures in the Italian nu-jazz scene. After the well-known collaborations with Nicola Conte, Buscemi, Parov Stelar and Kirk De Giorgio, the combo churns out a wonderful second album, which has followed the two successful previous singles, that have seduced the most influential djs of the planet! "More time" is the result of an intense team work which lasted about two years, and which has involved ten brilliant musicians and eight talented singers, coming from Italy and United States. This time Pilot Jazou add a massive dose of acoustic instruments to their compositions, reaching unique moments of very contagious extravagance. A big band which expresses an extreme vitality throughout fourteen full-bodied tracks. A strong reminder of the most intense summer colours. The CD includes a superb remix of "I Kill Myself", by the famous Austrian producer Parov Stelar! The Pilot Jazou are also in the Italian record of proceeds movie "Ho Voglia Di Te", with the track "More Time", which appears as the background music of the dinner of Riccardo Scamarcio and Laura Chiatti at Supper Club, before their first long night together...

RUMURHANG- Experimental music and freee improvvisation:Antonio Fusco ( Personala drum set and percussion), Alessandro CAssani (Double electric bass, Electric bass, Fretless bass), Antonio Bonazzo ( Sinth & Cimbalon), Pier Marie Philippe ( Effect, voice & electric guitars.To the end of 2003 he found with Osvaldo Di Dio and Vincenzo Virgillito the plan "Portrait en Jazz Meditèrranéen": characterized from a warm sound and wrapping, mixed to an elegant virtuosity the trio leaves from the standard jazz for broke and rewrite in Mediterranean key. Every concert of the trio is pervaded from an only atmosphere and every song is painted with the warm colors of the neapolitan melody. The first album comes realized in March of 2004 with two illustrious musician of the Neapolitan jazzistic view: Mark Zurzolo to sax and the Piero de Asmundis to the piano.

In the year of 2005/2006 he found with Massimo Ciaccio (eletric bass) and Osvaldo Di Dio (Guitar) the plan"SCIO". - Tribute fusion to Pino Daniele. The trio remaked most smash hit with a sound powerful and neapolitan, spacing from afro, to the POP, the jungle with extreme simplicity . The first album comes realized in May 2006 with five illustrious musician of the Neapolitan musical scene: Antonio Onorato (Guitar), Giulio Martino (SaxTenor), Carlo Lomanto (Voices), Piero De Asmundis ( Piano, Moogh and Clavinet) and Annibale Guarino (Sax Tenor and Soprano In the spring of 2004 the maximum scholarship participates to the auditions held from the Berklee College of Music, to Paris, obtaining in order to attend the prestigious College of Boston.

Influences: Antonio Fusco is an versatile drummer in continuos musical evolution, ever careful and available at new tendencies of jazz and general music.His style it takes cue from mererly jazzistic matrices,they goes from jazz to classic (swing, be bop, hardbop, etc...),to contemporary jazz, until arriving to the experimental of vanguard music (Industrial, jungle, down bit,ect.). His reference models are some musician, that also having covered different roads have given an strong and innovative contribiute in the hitstory of Jazz:Mile Davis, Keit Jarreth, Joe Zawinu, John coltrane, Jimmy Handrix, Art Blakey, Wheater Report, Jack De Jounette, Pink Floyd, and many others !!!
