SHORT BIOGRAPHY
(WHO I AM...)
I was born in Milan July, the 3rd, 1977.
Until thirteen years old no music, though my mother was a good piano player and my father an avid records collector and music fan.
Instead, I was basically "forced" to practice all sort of sports and physical activities, alternating modest results with fast boredom toward them.
Fourteenth birthday: at a high school party, someone land me a copy of Nirvana's "Nevermind" (just bought it), Frank Zappa's "Tinseltown Rebellion" (his Dad's property) and Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" (a gift from his Grandpa, I suppose...)
Besides the wonderful covers and the unmistakable smell of vinyl and dust, I strongly remember the feelings I was living, the complete coerency and serenity of that scenario that afternoon, only me, myself and the music out of the stereo.
Of course I wasn't new to music...but that day...something special happened. And out of all the instruments, the drums were those who hit me the most. My immagination started to run wild.
Finally something that I really liked! And I strongly remember that everything inside me was clear, simple..."written", in a sense.
It has been music ever since, without even figured it out at the beginning.
But I never looked back..and after buying my first pair of drumsticks, I started taking drum lessons. Clearly, my life was changed forever.
(TEACHERS...)
I've had many teachers, not only in my instrument.
Great musicians and great people that gave me a lot, and that are constantly inspiring me to strive for the better for what I do the best: play for living and live to play.
Right now I pursuing a Degree in Music Performance at the Music Conservatory in Milan.
(INFLUENCES...)
I love all kinds of music and I could never choose a style or genre forever.
There are times where I'm looking for very complicated kind of music, with lots of notes. Others that a good pop song is all I need (and, believe it or not, sometimes I try to write something original too in that directions.).
Somebody might consider this "artistic bipolarity" a strange behaviour or a loss of time...but I tend to accept this more of a gift than a problem.
Onestly, this approach gave me the opportunity to explore many different artistic visions and point of view in music, sometimes in complete opposition between each other.
Not to mention the possibility of having the tools to compete in many areas of the music business, collecting a big and diverse range of collaborations in many stylistic fields.
So, in this "musical caleidoscope" I'm having a big fun and I'm always excited to learn something new.
And, a bit chamaleon and a bit "part-time purist", I try to feel alive every day, looking for new goals and new incitements. Some small, some bigger.
In the meantime, if possible, I grow up.

3) "DEDE'":

This track is a complete song from a gig I've done @ Scimmie Jazz Club with the great pianist Antonio Faraò, one of the best musician and artist I've ever had the chance to play with.
It's a burning up-tempo jazz tune, with a drum solo near the end of the execution. No editing in any part of the tune.
This time, on electric bass, a young talent: Michele Tacchi.

4) "SESSION WORKS", part one:

This track contains a collection of some of my works as a session player in various studios, both in Italy and England.
Different styles are covered, ranging from pop, funk, latin, rock, big band and even metal!!!

5) "SESSION WORKS", part two:

More studio sessions...

6) "SOLOING SKILLS"

This track contains a collection of extracts of myself SOLOING in various contexts: free-structured solos, trades in jazz playing, soloing over a vamp, structured solos, etc.

Fooling around the set in a "Tony vs. Buddy"'s vibe...
