An Introduction to 12
12 is a musical collaboration founded in 1999 by singer and song writer Sheldon Holder.
The objective is a conscious effort to fuse our indigenous music, primarily Calypso , with other popular forms of music e.g. Reggae, Rock, Soul, Jazz etc. to create a sound affectionately called Earth Force Music.
12's permanent members are Sheldon Holder (Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals), Makesi Joseph (Drums) , Brendon Moore (Flugel Horn) and Nigel Irish (Bass Guitar). At various occasions the band is perfectly complemented through contractual assistance from Dean Williams, Marvin Dolly or John Hussain (Lead Guitar and Vocals) and Corey Wallace or Peter Noel (Bass Guitar).

12 the Vision.
Music can influence minds and hearts foster love, create change, it is a powerful spiritual force.
Within Trinidad & Tobago , 12 is a solid force for change in an environment that frankly has not changed since the independence of the country. Love of self , self determination, all concepts which we swore we would hold onto when we were given our freedom, have been cast aside in favor of a follow-fashion obtuse mind set that tells us it is better to be someone or something else. Music can break those chains. Caribbean music speaks to the heart of the average man. It can be a force for change, for nation building, for survival. We as a people need musical injection. The vision is self determination and self expression.
The key to life is balance and 12 intends to play its part. Trinidad & Tobago has had its eyes focused on industrialization for far too long, neglecting one of the most fundamental building blocks of civilization which is art and culture. Art and Culture are usually the means by which the proletariat inspires and elevates itself. It is also the means by which a society articulates its needs and provokes social conscience. Productivity therefore can never reach its apex without the people who are expected to produce being cultured.
