5 o’ Clock Shadow

The name of the band came very late. We already had about six (6) songs when we decided on a name. The band was initially started by Rixson, Aneil and Vijai around 2004. We tried our hands at a few cover songs. After a few sessions we decided to change our direction on Vijai's suggestion. We started focusing our energies on writing our own music. Aneil already had one (1) song he wrote before, known as " Mother Nature's Warning". Vijai had a song which he had been working on, called "Aggravated Agreement" .Later that year, Ben joined the band as an additional guitar player. Intially Bharat played drums. He left left due to family and job commitments. Rishi eventually replaced him and brought a new level of intensity to the band. Vijai is not with us but has migrated. We were lucky to lay down some of his vocals and bass tracks before he left. In 2007, Rishi left the band but was also gracious enough to contribute drum tracks for our soon to be released ep/lp. In 2008, with core members, Rixson, Aneil and Ben joining with drummer Roger Simpson and additional guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Glenford Bhagat, another line-up evolved.Our focus had been writing songs with basic but strong melodies. However as time goes on, we see ourselves pushing for a greater diversity in our music, yet keeping an emphasis on melody. The songs are intentionally written to a carry messages of personal experiences, current state of affairs and at times carry a hint of the philosophical/spiritual side of life.. Did we mention "State of Affairs"?
