About Me

Hello, I have lived in London for about 16 years having moved my life from my home town of Thatcham in Berkshire UK. I love living in London, we are lucky to live in a pleasant little pocket of Peckham, and try to maximise what city living has to offer. My wife and I are active members of the Lions part theatre co-operative performing in and around Shakespeares Globe Theatre and the Borough Market. I have been appearing as the Company's Green Man for 12 years and appear all garbed in greenery from the forests and abundant with all seasonal fruitery and flora. See the Lions Part website for fuller information, it's a fun site to visit. (www.thelionspart.co.uk). I work as an Electrical Engineer at one of the oldest schools in the country (Westminster). The work is quite diverse looking after about 60 buildings in the Westminster environ ranging from 14th century -Wow! Hogwarts!! - to high tech buildings. I like to read and write poetry and enjoy performing some at poetry venues around London including the Poetry Society now and then.
Here are some pictures from our October Plenty Festival 2007 a great fun day with lots going on. See more at www.thelionspart.co.uk Thanks to Robert Thompson for pictures.

My Interests

I am a bit of a lunatic, in the nicest possible way, ooouww!! so it pays to keep my eye on the Moon!! CURRENT MOON moon info
I work in my spare time as a volunteer Steward at Shakespeares Globe in London,UK as part of a group of over 500 stewards. It is great fun, I like to see the plays often, but also enjoy meeting the network of friends, from all parts of the world, who come to work there. I also enjoy to play the Guitar and am also teaching myself Ukelale. I am also pretty handy at DIY and keeping the house in order. In fact i'm an all round good Egg!! Ha!
London becomes a glittering jewel and the rough edges are hewn away in the still of night. When pollution levels are low all things seem to sparkle and become imbued with the romance of imagination.

I'd like to meet:

-----Any one into tree hugging!!-----
Just spent a week with the Iona Community in the Abbey on Iona. had a great time with about 50 fellow pilgrims in the Abbey and 50 in the McCloud Centre. We eat, work and worship together; oh and don't forget the prayer meetings (down the pub). A transforming experience i would like to repeat. The Iona Community, founded in 1938 by the Rev George MacLeod, is an ecumenical Christian community of men and women from different walks of life and different traditions in the Christian church that is committed to seeking new ways of living the gospel of Jesus Christ in today's world.

I do not know how I have not discovered her sooner. She came to me as recommendation in the gift shop on Iona. If you see her around have a listen. Also check out the Lily Allen song Ldn in my player thats a feel good song about London.X
This is an absolute scream the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain play 'Wuthering Heights' strutting there stuff massive like? Whatever that means!!(turn off the standalone player above and enjoy)

Annie has been a long time favorite artist in my life so I am very Happy to host her latest project here.(turn off player above to listen) XX

Movies:

Television:

Despite having recently invested in a 42" flat screen thingy, I find tele quite dull. When I do get a chance to watch I like - Have I Got News for You - Jonathan Ross and the Simpsons. I also enjoy watching music concerts, bits of Glastonbury were great, i particularly enjoyed seeing the Who.
..

Books:

The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell, another take on the Arthurian legend. It is well written and great for transporting me when stuck on the 53 bus! I enjoyed reading the Mists of Avalon by Marion Bradley. It is a retelling of the Arthurian Legend seen through the eyes of the women of Avalon and Camelot. It is completly enthralling and very difficult to put down.

The sound of seagulls.   The sound of seagulls, so distinct, makes thought and memory hark to a time and a place far removed from this space, where traffic jams circle Hyde Park. My favouri...
