Ms Bessie Blue...She seems younger than 6 months. The pic says it all, she has known only neglect and pain in her short little life. Her skin is bright red, like raw hamburger meat, and yet she is the sweetest, most docile little pup. She thumps her tail when you talk to her and tries to climb onto your lap to snuggle. I don't understand how these dogs never stop loving people, no matter how much pain they have endured. Please help this special pup if you are able to!! Karma Rescue will save her life but they need donations to do it. http://www.firstgiving.com/BessieBlue

This is Gracie. Gracie was rescued from the South Los Angeles Shelter with what they called a “skin diseaseâ€. We have seen skin diseases, and this was not one. Her face said it all. We got her out and immediately took her to our vet's office for her check up. We were not surprised when the vet confirmed that poor Gracie had acid thrown onto her face. Many Pitt Bull fighting rings do this to the animals to make them mean. I can only assume that since Gracie did not have a mean bone in her body, they had no use for her so dumped her at the shelter. We sent her medical information to the shelter to help prosecute the evil person who did this to her. Gracie now lives in a wonderful home at the beach with her new brother, Bruno. The family that adopted her say Gracie is so happy and thankful everyday that she got her second chance at life.
This is Beau. Beau had a very rough first year of life: Someone cut the tops of his ears off with scissors and NO anesthetic. On top of that, Beau had been starved, beaten with a newspaper and left to die. But then Karma Rescue found him, and his will to live prevailed. Beau is now thriving in his new home with new brother Ozone and has proven to be a friendly, loyal and loving companion. With everything that Beau has overcome, we could not let a heart murmur keep him from living a long, healthy life. We were committed to making his surgery happen. Beau deserved this second chance; and most of all, Beau deserved a loving home. Thanks to the generosity of people like you, we know that Beau has a future.
