About Me

Joe DAmico is a creator. Not simply of songs, but of universal characters and concepts that resonate with his audience. Joe brings to the stage an easygoing blend of folk, rock and country elements coupled with a unique vocal delivery ranging from the subtle to the explosive. His versatile set list and laid-back conversational style connect with his audiences whether he's playing solo or with his band.
Born in Philadelphia into a musical family (his father is an accomplished jazz pianist and classical composer), Joe draws upon the education of his upbringing and the hands-on experience he gained while a member of nationally recognized act Brothers Past. As bass player for this inventive band, Joe spent several years recording and touring sharing the stage with acts like Derek Trucks, Steve Kimock and the Disco Biscuits.
Joe's first independent release, Precious Bride (2006), is a nine-track album he put together as a gift for his wedding guests. Recorded in his home studio and mixed at Milkboy Studio in Ardmore, Pa., Precious Bride is a sentimental collection of love songs and stories designed to fit the occasion.
In addition to his solo work, Joe also plays mandolin and sings with Mason Porter. This four-piece West Chester, Pa., based band is a fast and fun combination of bluegrass, traditional folk and great rowdy music.
With his steadily increasing collection of songs and an optimistic approach to performing and life in general, Joe continues to make himself a fixture on the area music scene and is looking forward to bringing his material to new audiences. He is currently working on a record with his band, expected out in early 2007.
