1. Please be 25 or older; I am searching for women who have a mature hind-sight. If you are not 25, but you TRULY do feel that you have achieved self-acceptance, love, and respect, then please contact me. Consideration will be taken.
2. Please be able to travel to Palm Springs, California. However, if you are within a reasonable distance from me (Southern and lower Central California, Western Arizona, and Southwestern Nevada), I am willing to meet with you at a more convenient location, if necessary.
3. Please have available a non-professional photo of yourself from 5+ years ago. It should be from a period that at the time it was taken, you thought of yourself as "fat", and now in hindsight when you look at it, you wonder why you were ever so hard on yourself because you no longer see that fat girl/woman in the photo. I don't care if you were/are a size 2; it is all about YOUR perception! It is with intent that this photo will be published in this book.
4. Please know and accept that you will not receive any monetary compensation for participating. However, free personal advertisement will be offered to all participants (i.e. Your own company, your own website, your own artwork or product, et cetera).
5. Please know that there will be a contract to protect both parties best interest. At any time, there will never be any obligation on your part. (Please see the F.A.Q. section below for additional details).
6. If you are seriously interested in participating, please include your regular (non-MySpace) email address in your initial correspondence to me. Thank you!
Q: How can I reach you other than through MySpace?
A: I can also be reached at [email protected].
Q: I sent you an email, it has been "read", and I haven't received a reply yet. Why?
A: I always appreciate your emails and read each and every one of them. Unfortunately, I am often not able to respond immediately because of numerous time restraints due to multiple projects I am working on. However, please rest assured that I will reply to your email in time. Your patience and understanding is absolutely appreciated!.
Q: What does "piim" stand for?
A: It stands for Perfection: It is me!
Q: Who is your target audience?
A: Young girls and women, ages 10 and up.
Q: Why do I need to travel to Palm Springs, or be within vicinity of you, in order to participate?
A: Included with every woman's inspirational story about their path to self-acceptance, a current photo will be published as well. I will exclusively be the photographer for all current photos.
Q: I would love to participate, but I am not located anywhere near you. What can I do?
A: I have several solutions. Collaborations for this book will likely take 9+ months to complete; therefore, if you are visiting the vicinity (examples: Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, etc.) within the next 9 months or so, we can get together then. Another option would be, that I may be able to visit you in your home area! I travel back to the East coast annually, and sometimes take side trips throughout the country. If this happens while I'm still creating the book, we can arrange to meet up. Finally, if you're not able to contribute your personal story, there are other ways to participate! Please see the In Search Of section below.
Q: Will there be any nudity in this book?
A: No. Since my readers may be as young as grade-school girls, ALL published photos must be "family-friendly" for viewing.
Q: What kind of photos will you be shooting for the "current" images?
A: The images will portray confidence, a fresh-attitude, and inner-beauty.
Q: Why must I be 25 or older to participate?
A: Because in my experience, it took me 26, almost 27 years to achieve self-acceptance. People go through most of their considerable changes up to the age of 25, then people slowly become settled in their personality. I feel that women at this age, and older, have the insight that I am looking for in this book. This is not to say that someone younger than 25 hasn't achieved this level of achievement yet. If YOU fall into this category, please contact me. All women will be taken into consideration as a participant.
Q: Where do you plan on distributing this book?
A: International distribution, first of all, is my goal. I also plan on targeting such stores as Torrid, Lane Bryant, The Avenue, and other national store chains that promote size-acceptance. And of course there's the obvious, the traditional book stores and internet.
Q: Why must I sign a contract?
A: To protect the best interest of both parties (you and I). The contract will not financially obligate you to anything. It will simply include an agreement of release for both photos (the "before" and "after") and your story, an agreement of understanding that there will be no monetary compensation, and a clear statement as to whether you desire to publish your real name or have a fictitious one used.
Q: Why should I participate if you're not going to pay me?
A: This is an opportunity for you to help out many other young girls and women out there. Don't you wish there was a book like this available when you were younger and going through the "ugly duckling" phase? I know that I wish I did, and that's why I'm creating this book for the girls and women of now!
Q: Will a portion of your profits be donated to any non-profit organizations?
A: Absolutely! I whole-heartedly believe in sharing the wealth and supporting non-profit organizations. As a matter of fact, I currently work for a non-profit animal sanctuary; it is one of my passions. I also believe that in order to better and improve society, you, as an individual, must contribute one way or another. At this time, I have yet to decide which organizations and what percentage will be donated. However, once determined, I will make the information available to the public.
all contributers will be credited & recognized in the book
* Make-up Artists (for the women in the photos - - - For your contribution, your company will be credited and recognized on the participant's page(s), and you will receive FREE advertising within the "size-friendly" business section).
* Drawing artists (capable of drawing the female form)
* Poets (revolving around self-acceptance, love, and respect)
* Advertisers (size-acceptance promoting companies - - - There will be an advertising FEE for non-participating contributors to advertise in the "size-friendly" business section)
* Fashion designers (for the women in the photo - - - For your contribution, your company will be credited and recognized on the participant's page(s), and you will receive FREE advertising within the "size-friendly" business section).
* Women celebrities! (What's more encouraging to a young girl/woman who sees a famous woman promoting self and size-acceptance?!? Too often, celebrities are seen as infallible and perfect in the eyes of a girl, and even more often, these girls try whatever it takes to achieve this perfection. What better way to help put an end to this vicious cycle than to hear it "straight from the horses mouth").
Your Body Image is 16% Unhealthy, 84% Healthy
You have a great body image. You know that no one looks perfect, and you're happy the way you are.
Also, you don't judge other people on their looks... and it helps them feel better about their own bodies!
How's Your Body Image?
I am looking for (only) women participants to contribute their story of self-acceptance. If you, or if you know of any other women friends, who would be interested in participating, please contact me here , or at [email protected].
Please read the entire profile before submitting any emails. There are some qualifications, and many questions can be answered here in the F.A.Q. section (to the left). If you do have any additional questions not covered under the F.A.Q. section, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your cooperation!
And please, if you have nothing nice to say, please don't say it at all. Please direct any and all negativity elsewhere. Thanks in advance!
