"Loud & Proud" Peter Stroud has been busy for the past 12 years – In the mid-90’s with Pete Droge And The Sinners and ever since with Sheryl Crow’s band whom he joined in 1999. He toured with Don Henley for his INSIDE JOB TOUR 2000 and performs on occasion both with Don and Shawn Mullins. Peter records with various artists with album and soundtrack credits along with Sheryl & Pete that include Stevie Nicks, The Dixie Chicks, The Wallflowers and Shawn Mullins, including Shawn’s No. 1 AAA radio hit, "Beautiful Wreck" from the 2006 CD release 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor (Vanguard). Most recently he worked with Jen Foster, Chetes (EMI Mexico) and once again with Shawn for albums all due for release in early 2008.
Alongside of his performing, Peter co-founded 65amps, a manufacturer of handmade-guitar amplifiers, that has quickly become rooted in the industry and highly regarded. Embarking on this “hobby gone haywire” with his longtime friend Dan Boul, they are putting to use their collective accumulated years of vintage amp knowledge, life in the trenches club gigging, recording & touring to create their ultimate guitar amplifier.
Being the obsessive gear accumulating tone hound, Peter takes a noble dip of the pen contributing a monthly column of his road and gear experiences to Premier Guitar Magazine and is on the Advisory Board of the The Tonequest Report.
Peter was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. He writes, records, collects guitars and amps and resides with his family in Atlanta, Georgia, home of 25 years. He is currently writing and recording a collection of songs and music, with plans to release in the near future, “…through whatever revolutionary and dysfunctional digital-music channels are made available at the time.”
