Stuart Ryan

Award winning Guitarist

About Me

Described as "One of the finest guitarists of his generation" by Martin Taylor MBE, award winning guitarist Stuart Ryan is regarded as one of the UK's finest exponents of the instrument. Stuart is known to thousands of guitar fans throughout the world thanks to his monthly columns in Guitar Techniques Magazine and his performance and master-class schedule has taken him to some of the UK's most prestigious venues as well as concert halls in Italy, Austria and Ireland. His compositions and arrangements blend blues, jazz, folk and world and can be heard on the cover-mount CD for Guitar Techniques each month. His debut solo CD, 'The Coast Road', was described as "A beautiful collection of fingerstyle pieces" by Acoustic Magazine and is available now from www.guitarcds.net. Stuart's music has also appeared in The Observer Newspaper guitar supplement and his pieces feature in the LCM Acoustic Guitar Grades syllabus. A passionate and eloquent spokesman for the guitar, he has appeared on BBC radio across the UK discussing and demonstrating the range of the instrument. Stuart is Head of Guitar at The Bristol Institute of Modern Music (BIMM Bristol), sister college to the famous BIMM Brighton. Equally fluent on acoustic and electric guitar he is noted as both a concert performer and guitar clinician. Further information can be found at www.stuartryan.co.uk.
