Blues is the foundation of modern music

About Me

This is my gear: Marshall AVT 50 (valve pre amp), Boss Blues Driver (adds a softer level of distortion than other pedals), Dunlop Cry Baby Wah Wah, Westfield Strat copy (not really set up properly and goes out of tune easily) and my best guitar Epiphone Les Paul. I use Ernie Ball 10s on my Westfield and Ernie Ball 11s on my Les Paul. Something I have learnt when it comes to play is, less is more.

Here is a short clip of one of my fav bands ColvinQuarmby from the Gosport and Fareham Easter Fest 2007. Credit goes to http://www.youtube.com/folkingdotcom

And another clip this time from the CQ x-mas cracker 2007 (my first CQ gig)

Here is yet another clip from the CQ gig in Cromer 2007. The credit for this one goes to www.youtube.com/iwillcatchyou:

As part of the course I am studying and my interest in nature I am happy to say that I have been volunteering for the past year with the You get to meet new people and get fit all at the same time. I would suggest that anyone of any age with some free time to try it out and volunteer with them. If you live in another county try the other Trusts.

One of my other main hobbies is painting figures. Mostly I paint gamesworkshop figures just for fun, I don't play the game. Anyway here are a few picutres of some of my recent ones:

Since I am not a wizz at HTML I have used bits and pieces form these sources to compile my profile:Mygen, Mack the profile master, imageshack, freecodesource and I am Popular on line. The album colver images used on the background are from the artists websites, if the artists wich them to be removed I will do so but I am only showing support for the albums!

My Interests

Firstly if this page looks strange it is becuase I have designed it on Firefox.I have a strange taste in music I like, blues old and new, folk, rock, the odd bit of classical and other stuff that does not have a catagory so don't be surprised at the bands I listen to.

I play the guitar and love the blues so want to find some people to play in a band with.

My other main interest is in nature and conservation (how different from music can you get). My university course is a FDsc Wildlife Management and I hope to use this to become a reserves officer. I paint gamesworkshop figures, mostly Lord Of The Rings Stuff. I am a PC gamer and have probably unhealthy obsession with STAR WARS. I also have an interest in history mostly Roman Britain, Napoleonic Wars and some WW1. I am also an avid snooker fan, I have only played a few times but would like to join a club at some time in the future. I have watching for a good 7 odd years, my fav players are Ronnie and Steve Davis.

I'd like to meet:

Love to meet Jeff Beck, not sure what I would say to him though. Also I would like to meet George Lucas and tell him he is a god for creating Star Wars.

Other Information

Anyone who is an Orson Fan (you should be) check out Kevin's other band: Praying Hands. So far he has recorded a few acoustic tracks but listen to them properly because there is a lot of feeling in the Lyrics. If you don't know he is the one with the Les Paul.

Movies:

STAR WARS, STAR WARS, STAR WARS did I mention STAR WARS Lord Of The Rings, Gladiator, Equillibrium, Dune, Starship Troopers, X-men, Tron (classic), Masters Of The Universe, Ninth Gate, Black Hawk Down, Crusade, Babylon 5, Hellboy, Day After Tomorrow, Donnie Darko, Harry Potter, V for Vendetta, The Skulls.

Television:

Starship Troopers (CGI series), Invasion: Earth (old BBC series), Spooks, Lost, Life on Mars, Space: Above and Beyond and anything Sci-fi ish.

Books:

Lord Of The Rings, STAR WARS!!, Harry Potter, History (Roman Britain), Wildlife books, Dune series, generally sci-fi and fantasy

Heroes:

!!!ColvinQuarmby!!! I have decided to change the wording of "hero" to most inspirational and technically sound guitarist. So the first is

he is without a doubt THE best guitar player on planet earth but I would not try to cover any of his songs. I listen to a lot of different music and so different guitarists but only a few make me think "wow I want to learn to pay like that" or "I want a sound like that" At this moment for me there are four guitarists that I can say that about: Ian Parker, Aynsley Lister, Dave Dutfield (ColvinQuarmby)and Steve Fister. There is some thing about their playing and sound..... I am sure another guitarist would understand what I mean. Finally (of course) my dad.
