The band was formed to have fun with our music and see what is possible from a home recording studio. We do all our recording and mixing quite simply in a room upstairs!
BJ also plays bass with the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra and plays regularly at the Gold Coast Arts Centre. Currently studying music at university, she is developing her exceptional talent. Not to mention moonlighting as a guitarist and drummer in her spare time!
Min had been doing vocals for a few years with other bands, playing at weddings and other functions. With a beautifully "pure" voice that lends itself to the classic jazz standards of yesteryear
Luke has been playing piano off and on for nearly 15 years. Learning from Len Watson in Toowoomba QLD, he has developed a style heavily influenced by the jazz greats. He played a brief stint at the Burke & Wills piano bar in Toowoomba in 1999. Luke has also played many gigs with his father, a former semi-professional guitarist, covering many of the 50, 60's and 70's classic hits.
Haydn has been playing drums off and on for nearly 20 years, starting in a high school band at Jamison High School in 1989. The school band won a local Eisteddfod in 1990 and played several venues in western Sydney. Haydn's father and grandfather played in many dance swing bands from the 1950's through to the 1990's, regularly playing at Petersham Town Hall in Sydney. They also played with some of Sydney's great local musicians like Jack Papworth for many years.
We have developed a set list of jazz/swing tunes based on classic standards and added our own style to them. We have a set of instrumentals, swinging dance tunes and also some slower ballads.
