It's Your Mother..Again!

Glitter GraphicsGood books, good movies, anything that makes me think or even yell out loud, holy sh**. I love to listen to music. I have 2 daughters. I'm lucky in that they are both pretty down to earth, respectful kids. I try to give them their independence and trust while monitoring from the sidelines. I like to think I taught them to stand up for themselves and stand behind their beliefs which I'm proud to see they do. I couldn't be more proud of either one of them. My eldest has just moved out and has a pretty good job. She is doing great and I am happy for her. I like crafts, I find it fullfilling to create things. I also enjoy baking, cooking and gardening, though I hate the cleanup after. Who doesn't right? I work full time outside the home. I'm a nurse in Long Term Care, glorified term for nursing home. I'm proud of what I do and I pretty much like my job. I have a pretty off the wall sense of humor, guess it comes with the job. If you know a nurse, you know what I mean. I also tend to laugh when nervous, hey, it gets me by. I believe that with friends and family we can deal with anything that comes at us. To me, to be alone in this world is the worst tragedy. I also believe that what we put out there comes back to us in more ways than one. And of course, Laughter really is the best medicine. I don't have much tolerance for people without a sense of humor. If you can't laugh at yourself or life then you're way to serious for me. Music I like, well pretty much any Rock, Old, new, long as it's good. I love good 60's music, Motown, heavy metal, classic rock...etc! I read alot, mostly mystery and thriller type. A few authors I never skip, Stephen King of course, Dean Koontz, James Patterson, John Sandford, JA Jance, Irene Burke, Greg Iles. Recently found a new author, thanks to my bud Mable...Andrew Vachss. I have no idea how I never found this guy before. He just blows me away, not only his writing but his personal convictions. He is a pretty amazing personality, donating his time and money to help abused kids. This guy puts his money where his mouth is. His books are graphic and do detail child abuse but he feels its a way to get the message out there. They aren't written from an exploitative standpoint but a teaching one. Awesome writer, I would highly reccomend him to anyone. This summer I found another new author, Kim Harrison. Her books are set in Ohio, which is pretty cool to start, but her writing is amazing. If you like action, paranormal, and adventure with a little bit of comedy and romance thrown in you will love her books. I had never read this type of book before but from the first book I was hooked. I had to read them all. TV and movies: well, I like comedys and dramas. Im a big Lost fan, I know I know. I usually stick on Comedy central as Im puttering around the house. I also like alot of the original series on FX, HBO and Showtime. I love movies. I can watch some of my favorites over and over again. I like pretty much any kind of movie as long as it makes me feel something whether it be laughter, tears or even horror. I do admit I like to be scared and do watch some slasher flicks. I like chick flicks too but I also like stupid comedys. I have a few favorites that I can watch anytime like The Godfathers, the Champ...aww lil Ricky, he made me cry. I don't care what anyone says, Adam Sandler makes me laugh. My favorite comedian though has got to be hands down Lewis Black. I would marry this guy in a heartbeat. Heyyy, I love his mind! I love how he's not afraid to speak his mind and yet makes you laugh at the horror of it at the same time.
