- We got together from our desire to play the type of rock we grew up on and played in the 80s. Formed in mid 2006, we started rehearsing and writing our own new material. We are currently working on a full length CD for release in this century. Any questions, complants or party invites drop us an eMail.
- I decided to post some of our ruff demos on myspace.com and rockerie.com to receive feedback. “Orange†and a few other of our songs have been consistently in the “7 day weekly play†Top 10 on Rockerie.com since our posting them in October 2006.
- Eddie G/Throat - I played with Satin Steel from 1980 - 1985.
(I broke my neck in an accident and am diagnosed quadriplegic. Which means, paralized from the collar bone below, fingers and partial arms. No more Les Paul guitar playing. So, I went to college got another degree, started a carrer, bought a van, went to karaoke, developed my wind/lungs for singing over the years and bingo! I decided a new band was in order....but I disgress...lol)
- Anyhow, back to Satin Steel. We wrote our own stuff, played the bar scene for a couple years, had Miller sponsorship, and a top ten college charted 45. The band decided Californy was the place we outta be but...I had an accident that landed me in a wheelchair the day of our "going away party" so...things changed...- Now in present time...I've formed Shag Nazty and am working with some very talented musician/writers. I started hanging out in the "scene" again and really love it! Shag will have some polished songs out SOMETIME this century. Some of our rehearsal songs can be found here on this myspace site and on Rockerie.com
- Kevin Nazty/Drums - Played with various bands and Sloe Profile was his last b4 Shag Nazty.
- TJ/Guitar - Was with different bands and his last b4 Shag was Von Rocks.
- Joey/Bass Guitar - I'm 32 and I play bass in a local 80's tribute band Hammerd and an original metal band Shag Nazty. I love motorcycles, Iron Maiden, anything to do with WW2 especially with aviation. I’m sort of infatuated with the whole Mafia or Loa Cosanostra thing. Oh yeah, did I mention I love Iron Maiden? I like doing crazy things like skydiving. (tried it once and loved it but it's too expensive) I am also a mechanic by trade and I also hope you would save a starving musician - no seriously I’m hungry! Get me something to eat!
...So Those Are The Details...here's a bit-o fluff...
- Erie’s TANGENT Magazine describes Shag Nazty: “These veterans of ‘80s metal scene have left behind the Aquanet and leather…to form an original classic-rock, good-time party band. Fist-pumping riffs and tongue-in-cheek lyrics fill their songs…†Plain and simply, we want to party and rock you in the vein of our classic rock hero’s with fresh new grooves. A little head banging, love and partying never hurt anyone.

Influences:
Hmmm...Well, Girls, 80’s Metal, Beer, Booze, Bikes, Racing and Cards.
AC/DC, Kiss, Judas Priest, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Led Zep, Dio, Poison, Whitesnake, Guns n’ Roses, Motley Crue, Ratt, Dokken, Motorhead, Steppenwolf, Beatles, Dirty Looks...these bands opened our infant eyes to music and showed us the way!I’m sure there may be a couple we’ve missed but off the top of our heads...
Sounds Like:
Metal without the Aquanet...or just chaos.
We're trying to have fun and get it right is all, you decide wether we do.
