About Me

Norwegian Black Funeral Doom Metal act DARK OBSCENITY was formed in 2001 by bassist/vocalist Mortem. Although rooted in traditional Doom, the concept of DARK OBSCENITY also infuses Psychedelic, Darkwave, Industrial and Funeral persuasions. A strange doom metal created from a mixture of traditional doom, funeral doom, sludge/doom and industrial/darkwave. The finished product is some very filthy music which should appeal to those who are a fan of music with a dark aura, but still with a groove. An initial set of demos was launched in October 2002, with the CD-R 'The Sorrow And The Dark Ruin' emerging in 2004.The band returned with a second CD-R 'Through Funeral Whispers' issued in January 2005.In 2006 the DARK OBSCENITY evolved as Njord replaced Ore on guitar. A collaboration between Drako Productions and Lulu Enterprises released the debut album 'Black Doomed Ceremony' in November. A 100 copies limited independent EP of archive material, 'Lost Requiems', was delivered that December.
