Several years ago I started noticing a peculiar little facet of personal numerology. The number 23 seemed to pop up in my life more often than any other number. I subsequently learned that Robert Anton Wilson's surreal occult classic The Cosmic Trigger: The Final Secret Of The Illuminati deals with what he calls The 23 Enigma. He connects the synchronous occurances of the number 23 with the Illuminati, "...the secret, invisible society that has been playing head trips with mankind since the beginning of time." According to Terry Alden, who has done significant research into numerological enigmas, Wilson relates his own observations to the works of Leary, Gurdjieff, Castaneda, and Crowley, and makes a case not easily dismissed that men are being contacted and experimented upon by more intelligent beings who share the universe with us. Members of this secret society are said to be in telepathic contact with advanced beings in the star system of Sirius. They use the number 23, and the eye-in-the-pyramid design of traditional occultism (or the Eye of Horus in ancient Egyptian symbolism) as their mystical seal and emblem.

Wilson relates synchronicity to modern theoretical physics by associating it with the Quantum Inseparability Principle and its extension, The Bootstrap Theory. The former holds that every particle in the Universe affects every other particle everywhere. The latter contends that everything causes everything, every which way in time. These are termed "non-local" models in modern physics and such models are not restricted by the speed-of-light limit. They allow, for example, the future to determine the present as much as the past. From The Cosmic Trigger:

"Non-local theories, like Jung's synchronicity, take us out of the Newtonian action-reaction machine and bring us eerily close to the logic of the I Ching and Taoism, in which the seemingly random tossing of three coins may reveal an archetypal pattern of both personal and cosmological significance. With that kind of rationale (or rationalization) I accepted the 23 enigma as a signal that I should attempt to decipher."

Cognizant of other synchronous occurences of 23, I now notice the number popping up everywhere: in movies, on the backs of trucks, stamped mysteriously on the envelopes of junk mail, etc. Following is my running list of these occurences, both personal and of historical significance. Most recent occurences are listed at the end.

Through the years I have put myself through somewhat of random test, or as i like to put it (or shall I say R.A.W , from his book the cosmic trigger vol. 1), as a process, This process is called "initiation" or "vision quest" in many traditional societies and can loosely be considered some dangerous variety of self-psychotherapy in modern terminology. I do not recommend it for everybody, and I think I obtained more good results than bad ones chiefly because I had been through two varieties of ordinary psychotherapy before I started my own adventures and because I had a good background in scientific philosophy and was not inclined to "believe" any astounding Revelations too literally.

Briefly, the main thing I learned in my experiments is that "reality" is always plural and mutable. "Reality" is a word in the English language which happens to be (a) a noun and (b) singular. Thinking in the English language (and in cognate Indo-European languages) therefore subliminally programs us to conceptualize "reality" as one block-like entity, sort of like a huge New York skyscraper, in which every part is just another "room" within the same building. This linguistic program is so pervasive that most people cannot "think" outside it at all, and when one tries to offer a different perspective they imagine one is talking gibberish.

The notion that "reality" is a noun, a solid thing like a brick or a baseball bat, derives from the evolutionary fact that our nervous systems normally organize the dance of energy into such block-like "things," probably as instant bio-survival cues. Such "things," however, dissolve back into energy dances -- processes or verbs -- when the nervous system is synergized with certain drugs or transmuted by yogic or shamanic exercises or aided by scientific instruments. In both mysticism and physics, there is general agreement that "things" are constructed by our nervous systems and that "realities" (plural) are better described as systems or bundles of energy functions.

So much for "reality" as a noun. The notion that "reality" is singular, like a hermetically sealed jar, does not jibe with current scientific findings which, in this century, suggest that "reality" may better be considered as flowing and meandering, like a river, or interacting, like a dance or evolving, like life its self.

The only "realities" (plural) that we actually experience and can talk meaningfully about are perceived realities, experienced realities, existential realities -- realities involving ourselves as editors -- and they are all relative to the observer, fluctuating, evolving, capable of being magnified and enriched, moving from low resolution to hi-fi, and do not fit together like the pieces of a jig-saw into one single Reality with a capital R. Rather, they cast illumination upon one another by contrast, like the paintings in a large museum, or the different symphonic styles of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Mahler.

BRAINWASHING"The fact that TV is a source not actively or critically attended to was made dramatically evident in the late 1960s by an experiment that rocked the world of political and product advertising and forever changed the ways in which the television medium would be used. The results of the experiment still reverberate through the industry long after its somewhat primitive methods have been perfected."In November 1969, a researcher named Herbert Krugman, who later became manager of public-opinion research at General Electric headquarters in Connecticut, decided to try to discover what goes on physiologically in the brain of a person watching TV. He elicited the co-operation of a twenty-two-year-old secretary and taped a single electrode to the back of her head. The wire from this electrode connected to a Grass Model 7 Polygraph, which in turn interfaced with a Honeywell 7600 computer and a CAT 400B computer."Flicking on the TV, Krugman began monitoring the brain-waves of the subject What he found through repeated trials was that within about thirty seconds, the brain-waves switched from predominantly beta waves, indicating alert and conscious attention, to predominantly alpha waves, indicating an unfocused, receptive lack of attention: the state of aimless fantasy and daydreaming below the threshold of consciousness. When Krugman's subject turned to reading through a magazine, beta waves reappeared, indicating that conscious and alert attentiveness had replaced the daydreaming state."What surprised Krugman, who had set out to test some McLuhanesque hypotheses about the nature of TV-viewing, was how rapidly the alpha-state emerged. Further research revealed that the brain's left hemisphere, which processes information logically and analytically, tunes out while the person is watching TV. This tuning-out allows the right hemisphere of the brain, which processes information emotionally and noncritically, to function unimpeded. 'It appears,' wrote Krugman in a report of his findings, 'that the mode of response to television is more or less constant and very different from the response to print. That is, the basic electrical response of the brain is clearly to the medium and not to content difference.... [Television is] a communication medium that effortlessly transmits huge quantities of information not thought about at the time of exposure.'"Soon, dozens of agencies were engaged in their own research into the television-brain phenomenon and its implications. The findings led to a complete overhaul in the theories, techniques, and practices that had structured the advertising industry and, to an extent, the entire television industry. The key phrase in Krugman's findings was that TV transmits 'information not thought about at the time of exposure.'" [p.p. 69-70]"As Herbert Krugman noted in the research that transformed the industry, we do not consciously or rationally attend to the material resonating with our unconscious depths at the time of transmission. Later, however, when we encounter a store display, or a real-life situation like one in an ad, or a name on a ballot that conjures up our television experience of the candidate, a wealth of associations is triggered. Schwartz explains: 'The function of a display in the store is to recall the consumer's experience of the product in the commercial.... You don't ask for a product: The product asks for you! That is, a person's recall of a commercial is evoked by the product itself, visible on a shelf or island display, interacting with the stored data in his brain.' Just as in Julian Jaynes's ancient cultures, where the internally heard speech of the gods was prompted by props like the corpse of a chieftain or a statue, so, too, our internalized media echoes are triggered by products, props, or situations in the environment."As real-life experience is increasingly replaced by the mediated 'experience' of television-viewing, it becomes easy for politicians and market-researchers of all sorts to rely on a base of mediated mass experience that can be evoked by appropriate triggers. The TV 'world' becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy: the mass mind takes shape, its participants acting according to media-derived impulses and believing them to be their own personal volition arising out of their own desires and needs. In such a situation, whoever controls the screen controls the future, the past, and the present."

The Twelve Dimensions of Creation ? Part I
When I finally discovered the twelve dimensions of Creation, I was astounded by the symmetry of the Creator?s work.
In physics, symmetry is a sign that a theory is viable, because nature exhibits symmetry in so many ways. I had been pursuing the nature of the structure of reality for decades, most especially in recent years. Then, one day in 2002, the keys of the universe just fell into place like some self-organizing jigsaw puzzle.
Dimensions are measurable items, the variables of the universe. For example, space consists of three dimensions ? length, breadth, and height ? and time is referred to as the fourth dimension. A wooden cube on a table top has three dimensions in space, measuring, say, 2 inches (5 cm) by 2 inches by 2 inches. It also exists at that point in time.
Time is not just a linear flow, as in the river of time. It is, more accurately, the dimension that brings physical motion into existence. The wooden cube arrived upon the table top at some point in time, and it will leave the table top at another point in time. When it leaves it will be exhibiting motion through space.
So far, that makes a total of four dimensions, or four ways to measure reality. But what of the other dimensions of existence? In the 1990s, mathematicians working on the string theories of physics discovered the likelihood of there being at least ten dimensions in existence, not just the four dimensions that we had acknowledged before.
Physics has already proven that physical matter is energy, i.e. electro-magnetic energy held in a state of tension. Therefore, if the wooden cube is made up of electro-magnetic energy, then electric energy and magnetic energy are two more measurable dimensions. An object has so much electric energy and so much magnetic energy. Dimensions are measurable variables affecting the existence of objects, therefore electric energy and magnetic energy are two of the dimensions of existence. They usually express themselves in an entwined, electro-magnetic form, but underneath they are two distinct forms of energy.
In experiments with subatomic particles, the consciousness of the observer often affects the outcome of the experiment. Therefore we can chalk up two more dimensional variables ? thought and feeling, which are the components of human conscious awareness.
Thought, here, refers to intellect or mental activity in a linear direction. For example, arithmetic is linear, so is algebra, so are digital computer processes. Linear thinking is a logical, left-brain skill. Holistic, right-brain skills, on the other hand, embrace emotions, intuition and the ability to see a pattern within a whole picture. Thought and feeling express themselves in an entwined form, as does electro-magnetic energy, but underneath they are two distinct aspects of consciousness.
That makes, so far, a total of three space dimensions (length, breadth and height), one time dimension, two consciousness (thought and feeling) and two energy dimensions (electricity and magnetism), for a total of eight dimensions so far.

The Twelve Dimensions of Creation ? Part II
Dimensions are the fundamental building blocks of reality.
Every physical object has three size dimensions (length, breadth and height) and exists at a specific location in space at a certain point in time. Space and time are generally accepted as the first four dimensions, but what could the others be? What fundamental building blocks make the __expression of our universe possible?
Matter is constructed of varying amounts of electro-magnetic force, so electrical energy and magnetic energy are both fundamental building blocks within the physical world. That makes electricity and magnetism two of the fundamental variables, or dimensions, of reality.
Human consciousness consists of the fundamental building blocks of thought and feeling, so these are also dimensions of reality. Consciousness goes far beyond just the realm of human thought. In fact, the entire universe is constructed of the original consciousness of the Creator.
Physics, like spiritual philosophy, is engaged in a search for the nature of the universe. Today, however, it is unfashionable to include the Creator in physics theories. It is also surprising, because virtually all of the great names in the history of science, including Einstein, have been deeply spiritual and mystical people.
I remember, at the tender age of 16, being counseled by my physics teacher to find the solution to science problems by referring to basic principles. ?Once you have the basic principles understood, lad,? he explained, ?then everything else falls into place.? I often reflect upon how right he was.
The existence of a conscious Creator is a basic principle. Once you include the Creator, the answers appear much more easily by asking yourself the question, ?How would the Creator have done that??
After all, you wouldn?t look at a jet aircraft thundering across the sky and say, ?As far as I can tell, it looks like it?s propelled by making a loud noise.? Instead, you?d find out about the creators of the jet engines, find out what they knew, and then figure out how they did it.
Now, to include the basic principle of the One Creator in your speculations, you have to first define the original nature of the Creator. It goes without saying that the Creator is an infinite intelligence. The words omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent all express the idea of infinite consciousness.
The other attribute of the original state of the Creator is that of ?beingness.? In the Western way of thinking, we are accustomed to doing something all the time, always doing, doing, doing. ?Being,? however, is the absence of ?doing.? In a state of Being, you just are. You don?t have to ?do? anything to become something, if you already ?are? that something.
The state of Being is the foundation of all existence. Being is motionless and was the primal state before the original act of creation occurred. This is because - and here comes another basic principle - the universe exists within the consciousness of the Original Creator.
All matter is energy. The entire universe is energy. And behind that energy is the consciousness that created it.
The original act of Creation was infinite in its potential, causing not just the creation of one universe, but an infinite number of universes.
At that point, Infinite Being had extended itself into the sphere of thought as its first act. Thus the 12th dimension is original creative thought, or the Father Creator principle.
Note that the so-called ?12th dimension? was actually the first one to come into existence, so you could, instead, justify calling it the ?1st dimension.? However, people are accustomed to thinking of the 1st dimension the one closest one to daily life on Earth, so that means that the 12th dimension has to be the number closest to the source of creation.
The male-female principle, as in the original Creation, is not the same idea as a comparison between men and women. Men and women on Earth each contain a mixture of both male and female attributes. A man is physically a more male version of the human gender mix, and a woman is physically a more female version. The Father Creator principle of consciousness, however, is energetically pure male and works in synchronicity with the pure female principle, which is the Mother Creator principle, or the 11th dimension.
An exact balance between the male and female creative principles made possible the manifestation of the 10th dimension. The 10th dimension holds the consciousness templates for an infinite number of universes.
The Original Act of Creation by the Infinite Being is summarized as follows:
The 12th dimension is original thought, or the Father Creator principle. The 11th dimension is original feeling, or the Mother Creator principle. Together, in exactly equal balance, the Father Creator and the Mother Creator manifested the 10th dimension, where the templates of consciousness exist for an infinite number of universes.
The fundamental formula of creation is, ?Thought plus feeling equals manifestation.

In Parts I and II, it was stated that the original formula of creation, ?Thought plus feeling equals manifestation,? expresses itself again and again, in perfect symmetry, throughout the other nine dimensions.
Dimensions are the fundamental building blocks of reality. We live in a conscious universe because the universe was created entirely from original consciousness. Every aspect of the universe, from stars to humans and even sunlight, are all composed of 100% original consciousness.
Dimensions include the three dimensions of space (length, breadth and height), time, thought, feeling, and the three fundamental energies which make up physical and non-physical matter (etheric, magnetic and electric).
After the initial creation of the first three dimensions, Infinite Being repeated the process three more times, creating triads of Energy, Space and Motion. Each triad was then expressed in three sub-forms, each time conforming to the original pattern of thought, feeling, and manifestation.
Notice the symmetry of the 3 by 3 matrix in the following diagram.

Note that by defining time as physical motion, it fits neatly into the Motion triad of mental, emotional, and physical motion.
Mental motion, dimension 3, is thought at the human level, as differentiated from the original creative thought in dimension 12. Emotional motion, dimension 2, is feeling at the human level.
The use of electric energy, dimension 7, has been developed since the early 1800s. At that time, electricity was no more than a curiosity and very little was known about it. It could only be produced by very limited means, such as in a chemical battery. It was also produced in static electricity machines and, watch your fingers, by electric eels. Electricity had also been seen to have a mysterious effect upon magnetic compass needles. Lightning had already been established as an electrical phenomenon by Benjamin Franklin?s famous experiment in a lightning storm. This had brought new meaning to the phrase, ?Go fly a kite!?
In those distant, early days of gas lamps and candles, visionaries like Faraday, Ampere, and Volta dedicated much of their lives to the study of electricity. The emerging field of knowledge transformed electricity into a working energy which, today, makes possible the huge advances that we enjoy in automation, mobility, and communications.
Magnetic energy, the 8th dimension, is the primal field of the universe. It is the womb of the universe; the matrix upon which all energy and matter exists. It is the fabric of the universe. Electromagnetic energy, including light, consists of equal components of electric and magnetic energy. As all matter is energy, your physical body is made of electromagnetic energy, and only has the appearance of being solid material.
Etheric energy, dimension 9, is traditionally referred to as prana in Eastern philosophy, and as chi in oriental medicine. When etheric energy is fully investigated by visionary, pioneer-scientists, it will open up a new branch of physics larger than that of electricity.
Life on Earth functions within this 3 by 3 matrix of 9 intertwined dimensions. The 10th dimension is also of relevance as it indicates which one of the infinite number of universes that we exist in. In summary:
The original 3 dimensions are the Consciousness of the Creator.
Dimension 12 is the Father Creator principle.
Dimension 11 is the Mother Creator principle.
Dimension 10 contains the consciousness templates for the Infinite Universes.
The next 3 dimensions are Energy.
Dimension 9 is etheric, or life, energy.
Dimension 8 is magnetic energy, the primal field of the universe.
Dimension 7 is electric energy, the building block of physical matter.
The next 3 dimensions are Space, which allows the separation of objects.
Dimension 6 is linear separation.
Dimension 5 is circular separation.
Dimension 4 is spherical separation.
The next 3 dimensions are Motion.
Dimension 3 is thought (mental motion.)
Dimension 2 is feeling (emotional motion.)
Dimension 1 is time (physical motion.)
The basic 9 dimensions function together in an intertwined harmony. They are all, however, creations of the consciousness of the original 3 dimensions. Energy, space, and motion are all facets of consciousness.
As the electrical pioneer Michael Faraday said about life, ?All this is but a dream.?
We live in a universe composed of 100% original consciousness. As such, we are dreaming the dream of Creation, each one of us playing our individual part of experiencing the universe from our own unique viewpoint.

Art of Scrying

Scrying can be an auto-deepening trance process that progresses in stages using tools such as a crystal ball, or other medium. Initially, the medium serves as a focus for the attention, removing unwanted thoughts from the mind in the same way as a mantra. Once this is achieved, the scryer begins a free association with the perceived images suggested, for instance in a crystal ball, by the tiny inclusions, web-like faults and/or the cloudy glow within the ball under low light (i.e. candlelight).

The technique of deliberately looking for and declaring these initial images aloud, however trivial or irrelevant they may seem to the conscious mind, is done with the intent of deepening the trance state, wherein the scryer hears their own disassociated voice affirming what is seen within the concentrated state in a kind of feedback loop. This process culminates in the achievement of a final and desired end stage in which visual images and dramatic stories seem to be projected within the mind's eye of the scryer, like an inner movie. This overall process reputedly allows the scryer to "see" relevant events or images within the chosen medium.

Scrying has been used for thousands of years by different cultures. Ancient Egypt used scrying in their Initiations. This included water scrying, dream scrying, oil scrying, and mirror scrying. One legend states that the goddess Hathor carried a shield that could reflect back all things in their true light. From this shield she allegedly fashioned the first magic mirror to "see."

Ancient Persia -- the Shahnama, a semi-historical epic work written in the late 10th century, gives a description of what was called the Cup of Jamshid, used in pre-Islamic Persia, which was used by wizards and practitioners of the esoteric sciences for observing all the seven layers of the universe.

Ancient Greeks and Celts practiced scrying using beryl, crystal, black glass, polished quartz, water, and other transparent or light catching bodies. Nostradamus is believed to have employed a small bowl of water as a scrying tool into which he gazed and received images of future events. Alchemists Edward Kelley and John Dee employed a form of scrying using a small crystal ball or shewstone - a piece of polished obsidion. The crystal ball and wax tablets used by Dee and Kelley are on display at the British Museum in London.

Scrying is the occult practice of using a medium, most commonly a reflective surface or translucent body, to aid perceived psychic abilities such as clairvoyance. The media often used to "see" are water, polished precious stones, crystal balls, or mirrors. Scrying, in this context, uses a "visual" process. There are some who believe the art of scrying is not limited to the use of "reflective" or "translucent" bodies only, but includes other media. Scrying has been used in many cultures as a means of seeing the past, present, or future; in this sense scrying constitutes a form of divination. Return of the Nephilim - Boldly looking for Truth in a world full of lies The Demi-gods of Genesis 6

Who Are The Nephilim?
Of all the imaginable phenomena on Earth, the progeny of this union between extra-terrestrials and humans is the most bizarre. Man has paid little attention to them until now, for the fact of their existence has been shrouded in legend. But can they be dismissed as myth any longer? In this End Time hour many strange phenomena are occurring. Jesus said, "As the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:37). It was the wickedness of humanity and the abominable union of the supernatural with the natural that moved God to judge the world. We are fast approaching a new period of God's wrath. The return of these super creatures may even now be a threat to us.
The Nephilim. An Etymological Evidence
Who are these beings? A clue to their identity is found in their name — Nephilim. The word itself is Hebrew, and it is first used in Genesis 6:4,

"There were giants in the earth in those days: and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."

Nephilim is translated "giants" in the Authorized King James Version, but "giants" is in no way a complete description.

Commentators like Lange trace the word "Nephilim" to the root "Niphal" meaning "distinguished ones." This corresponds perfectly with the "men of renown" at the end of Genesis 6:4, nevertheless it is not a generally accepted translation.

Others have sought the root of the word in the Hebrew consonants "npl" as found in Psalm 58:8. Here it means "miscarriage." Accepting this theory, the Nephilim would be those superhuman beings that resulted from miscarriages. Genesis Rabbah (26:7) seems to confirm this translation when it states:

"Nephilim denotes that they hurled the word down, themselves fell (naflu) from the world, and filled the world with abortions (nephilim) through their immorality." (1)

Most scholars, however, reject both these interpretations and trace the word "Nephilim" to the Hebrew root "Naphal" meaning "to fall." The Nephilim are the "fallen ones." A direct reference to the 'fallen angels' who sired them. Some writers such as Ben Adam believe the word "Nephilim" refers to the fallen angels themselves and not to their offspring.

Because of some uncertainty in the translation of the Hebrew word, more and more Bible versions are now leaving the original word untranslated. Thus the New International Version renders the passage: "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days..." (Genesis 6:4). This also does justice to the fact that the definite article precedes the word in the original. "The Nephilim were on the earth..." The same definite article is also found in the other biblical passage where the word "Nephilim" occurs, namely, Numbers 13:33. "We saw the Nephilim there..."

Interpreting the Nephilim as "the fallen ones" dismisses the suggestion of one modern author that belief in the Nephilim could lead to racism. He fears that people would boast of having celestial blood in their veins and consider themselves superior to those of ordinary, human ancestry [Nazis did exactly that]. To claim descent from stellar explorers could lead to a class distinction surpassing anything ever seen in society, but he need have no such qualms! If the Nephilim are stellar, they are also infernal. To claim descent from such beings would be to admit an ancestry from Hell.

Although there is no etymological evidence to justify "giants" as an accurate translation for "Nephilim," such a translation is not without merit. In more senses than one, Nephilim were giants.
Giants in Size
For one thing, they were giants in size and strength. Much documentation of the exceptional physical stature and super-human strength of the Nephilim exists, and this is not in the least surprising, knowing that they were "fathered" by angels. Angels as already stated, do "excel in strength" (Psalm 103:20). They are greater "in power and might" than men of earth (2 Peter 2:1 1).

What applies to holy angels, applies equally to (the offspring of these — ed.) rebellious angels. Their moral fall does not seem to have reduced their physical prowess. The Book of Enoch states that their "height was like the tallness of cedars and whose bodies were like mountains."

A modern author describes them in the following terms:

"Perverted power and strength are (thus) conspicuous attributes of fallen angels. This titanic energy is displayed in the supernatural strength demons can impart to the human body when they enter it and possess it." (2)

The New Testament supplies many such examples. One of the most noted is that of the Gadarene demoniac, who by his super-human strength could snap fetters and break chains.

The Roman Catholic Church confirms this attribute of fallen angels when it demands the presence of super-human strength before it will diagnose a person as being demon-possessed.

Actually a person under investigation must reveal the presence of three phenomena before the Roman Catholic Church will categorize him as "possessed." First, he must be able to speak in a language unknown to him. Second, he must have knowledge of secret facts, previously unknown to him. Third, he must possess unnatural strength beyond his age and ability. (3)

Dr. Kurt Koch, from his vast experience and extensive research into occultism, has discovered that even children or delicately built women can offer effective resistance to three or four strong men when demon possessed. (4)

Similarly, Professor Oesterreich cites a number of examples from his research, demonstrating the same super-human strength in demon-possessed people. One example he gives is of a ten-year-old boy who could be scarcely held down by three adults. Another is of a young girl who could barely be controlled by two men. (5)

In a similar vein, Robert Pearson wrote from Borneo in 1967 concerning the Dyak uprising:

Evidences of demonic power were witnessed at Andjungan. Dyaks used their fists and feet to break display cases with glass flying all over the place. Some actually danced on it with bare feet but no one was injured. One missionary watched Dyaks step into pans of acid used to coagulate rubber. Undiluted, this acid can normally burn the flesh to the bone, but these men were unharmed. Others struck locked and barred doors with their bare hands, breaking them down so easily as if they had been rammed by a truck...These things are hard to understand, but we know that Satan is powerful and...able to endow men with his power when it suits his purpose. (6)

John Wesley in his journal entry for May 2, 1739, writes of a certain John Haydon, a respectable person, present in one of his meetings, and who "fell off his chair and began screaming terribly and beating himself against the ground ...Two or three men were holding him as well as they could. The man then roared out, "O thou devil! thou cursed devil! Yea, thou legion of devils! thou canst not stay! Christ will cast thee out!"' Fortunately, after prayer, Wesley reports that "both his body and soul were set at liberty."

These and countless similar examples are reminiscent of what happened to the seven sons of Sceva in Acts 19. A demonized man out-numbered seven to one, was able to overcome all seven by a phenomenal show of strength. The Bible states that they were fortunate to escape from the house naked and wounded.
A Second Incursion
In Genesis 6, where the word "Nephilim" is first used, we are told that the Nephilim appeared on the Earth just before the Flood, and that their appearance was the main reason for the Flood.

[Pablo's Note: Although it seems that there were more than one reason for it, the main cause for the Noachian Flood was mankind's total rebellion against God, according to Genesis 6:5-8. The NKJ says that "The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the Lord said, 'I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.' But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord." Notwithstanding, such human rebellion may have been provoked by the interfering fallen angels and their hybrid descendants. By the way, a much more accurate translation of this passage from Hebrew is a personal one that I made of it —which is identified in this website as the PAB version— and it is as follows: "(5) And God saw great evil indeed in man on the earth, and every thought and purposes of his mind were nothing but evil, the whole time. (6) Then, God suffered grief because of the accomplishment of mankind on Earth. It grieved Him at Heart. (7) Therefore, God said: 'I will wipe out mankind, so that I create out of it a change when I make the Earth empty of both, Man and beasts, from creeping things, up to the flying creatures of the sky. But, I feel grief since I created it.' (8) Yet, Noah got Grace in the eyes of God"]

There followed another incursion(s) of these fallen angels at a later date.

We read in Genesis 6:4 "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days and also afterward..." (NIV). This data is found in Numbers 13:33: "We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim)" (NIV).

[Pablo's Note: My personal translation [the PAB] of Genesis 6:4 says: "The Nephilim appeared on the Earth in those days, and again afterwards, when the Sons of God entered into the daughters of man and they bore to them the mighty men who from old times were men of reputation.".]

This following eruption(s) was/were probably on a more limited and restricted scale than the first one.

Nevertheless, God ordered their complete destruction.

One has often wondered at the severe an extreme measures that God asked Joshua to put into effect once he entered the land of Canaan. God commanded him to "utterly destroy them."

[Pablo's Note: Not all the Canaanites were giants, some of them were just descended from Canaan, Ham's son. The post-flood giants, hybrids of fallen angels and women lived in these same land, near Hebron and in some parts of what now is Jordan.]

We have found it difficult to reconcile this with the character of God. One can only surmise that God had a very special reason to issue such a command. Could it be that God knew the heritage of these Nephilim? [Pablo's Note: This question is merely rethorical, since God knows exactly well the heritage of everyone in the Universe]

God was aware that the Canaanites and their neighbors manifested the whole gamut of demonical practices, and that they were a threat to the character and destiny of His chosen people, who were entering the land at that time. This is why He warned the Israelites not to imitate the occult practices of these people whom they dispossessed. With the same unmatched anger that He had displayed in Genesis 6, God orders the complete extermination of the inhabitants of Canaan:

"But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee" (Deuteronomy 20:17).

However, Israel, as so often in her history, failed to obey God, and there is reason to believe that some of the Nephilim survived (Joshua 13:13, 16:1 0; Judges 1:28-34).

The progeny of these Nephilim went under various names. We read of the Anakim, descended from Anak (Numbers 13:28); the Rephaim, descended from Rapha; the Zamzummims, the Emims, the Avims, etc. All shared the characteristics of being huge, tall and strong. Rabbi Bahya ben Asher, a Spanish Cabalist, claimed the Nephilim were heads of the family called "sons of God." They were so called because terror fell on those who saw them. As the virility of the stock declined, they were called Anakim and later Rephaim. (7) Here is an Old Testament description of the Emim:

"The Emim dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim; which also were accounted giants, as the Anakim; but the Moabites called them Emims." (Deuteronomy 2:10, 11).

These men were such giants that the Israelite spies who went in to reconnoiter the land, cowered before them:

"And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight." (Numbers 13:33).

Flavius Josephus, the noted Jewish historian of the first century A.D., described these giants as having "bodies so large and countenances so entirely different from other men that they were surprising to the sight and terrible to the hearing." (8) And he adds that in his day, the bones of the giants were still on display!

Deuteronomy 3:11 describes one of these giants in more detail:

"For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants: behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? Nine cubits was the length thereof and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man."

A super king-sized bed! In modem measurements it was 18 feet, 6 inches long, and 8 feet, 4 inches wide!

Some of these giants carried spears that weighed from ten to twenty-five pounds. One carried a spear whose staff was "like a weaver's beam" (2 Samuel 21:19). Goliath wore a coat of armor that weighed 196 pounds, and he was said to be about nine feet tall. Some of these giants had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. Evidence From Outside The Middle East These giants were not confined to the Middle East. Two dozen human footprints of abnormal size have been found in the Paluxi riverbed, Texas, some of them measuring eighteen inches long. Other giant markings have been discovered in such diverse places as Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and California. In the Mt. Vernon area of Ohio, Dr. Wilbur G. Burroughs of the Geological Division of the Berea College, Kentucky, reported finds of human foot prints 23.75 cm. long and 10.25 wide! Near Antelope Springs, Utah, William Meister discovered in 1968 two human footprints 32.5 cm. long and 11.25 wide.

Similar giant footprints have been discovered in other countries especially in the Mt. Victoria region of Australia.

Not only do we have footprints of giants but actual skeletons as well. In 1936 Larson Kohl, the German paleontologist and anthropologist, found the bones of gigantic men on the shore of Lake Elyasi in Central Africa. Other giant skeletons were later found in Hava, the Transvaal and China. The evidence for the existence of giants is incontrovertible. "A scientifically assured fact," says Dr. Louis Burkhalter. (9)
Giants In Knowledge
The Nephilim also were giants in knowledge. According to the Book of Enoch, God was incensed against the fallen angels partly because they disclosed certain classified information to humans. The ancient world associated demons with special esoteric knowledge and with superior intelligence. The word "demon" in Greek (daimon) comes from the root meaning "knowledge" or "intelligence." The Scriptures also testify to the fact that demons have access to knowledge and information denied to ordinary mortals. We read in the Gospels how they recognized and acknowledged the deity of Christ when humans seemed totally blind to the fact. When the Gaderene demoniac saw Jesus, he fell down before him, and cried out, "What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high?" [ Lucius (Lukius, Luke) 8:28 ]. These demons recognized Jesus at the beginning of His ministry, way ahead of His own disciples.

In the Book of Acts, with the same supernatural knowledge, demons recognized the mission and message of the Apostle Paul. The possessed damsel at Philippi cried, "These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation" (Acts 16:17). This happened at a time when the people of Philippi had no idea who Paul was, nor did they know the nature of his mission. We cannot but note that every recorded statement made by demons in the New Testament concerning Christ or Paul was one-hundred percent accurate.

Clement of Alexandria suggested an interesting reason for this superior knowledge of demons:

It is evident, since they are demoniac spirits, that they know some things more quickly and more perfectly than men, for they are not retarded in learning by the heaviness of a body.

Examples of this trait in demons is supplied by various missionary organizations. They tell us how people possessed by evil spirits acquire superior knowledge, far above that of their brethren. In an editorial in Christian Life Magazine we find these words concerning the murder of five young American missionaries in the jungles of Ecuador in 1956:

"Indians at Arajuno mission base knew in a few hours what had happened when five missionaries deep in Ecuador's Auca territory in 1956 failed to make radio contact with anxiously waiting fellow missionaries. How? They asked a local witch doctor. He obliged by falling into a trance, calling up his favorite demons and asking them to tell him where the missing missionaries were. According to the friendly Indians, they heard demons leave the scene and, in a short time, returned with the message that the missionaries were in the Curaray River with Auca lances in them."

John L. Nevius, a medical missionary in China at the end of the last century gathered a significant compendium of data on this subject. After sending a detailed questionnaire to Protestant missionaries all over China, he gleaned a vast amount of information about the symptoms of demonism. One characteristic he found again and again was the prevalence of superior knowledge and intelligence in the possessed person--even on subject matters of which the person had no prior knowledge.
Programmed From Space
This may well supply the key to the great knowledge and expertise that characterized certain men in ancient times. As already seen, such knowledge and expertise by "primitive" men continue to defy explanation. P.J. Wiseman admits to this mysterious factor:

It was expected that the more ancient the period, the more primitive would excavators find it to be, until traces of civilization ceased altogether and aboriginal man appeared. Neither in Babylonia, nor Egypt, the land of the oldest known habitations of man, has this been the case. (10)

Arthur Custance pertinently states this strange sequence right at the beginning of human history:

"...an unbelievably long time with almost no growth; a sudden spurt leading within a very few centuries to a remarkably high culture; a gradual slowing up, and decay, followed only much later by recovery of lost arts and by development of new ones leading ultimately to the creation of our modern world. What was the agency which operated for that short period of time to so greatly accelerate the process of cultural development and produce such remarkable results?" (11)

Could this agency be the Nephilim? Could this expertise have been imparted by beings from outer space? And could this explain the mysteries surrounding Stonehenge, the Mayan Caracol, Tiahuanaco, the Bay of Pisco, and particularly the Great Pyramid? Did the knowledge necessary to construct these monolithic structures come from the Nephilim? Were they the ones responsible for what Custance calls the "climax at the beginning"? (12)

As for the Great Pyramid, many scientists suggest a date back in the generations preceding the Flood. If so, those happen to be the very times of the Nephilim, the generations of the "giants" and of the "men of renown." But what if it could be proven that the Great Pyramid was not built until after the Flood? There is still no problem.

Could not Noah and his family have carried this information with them into the Ark, and transmitted it later to their descendants? According to the Babylonian version of the Flood, the "Chaldean" Noah was made to bury his books before the Flood, and then disentomb them after emerging from the Ark. But there is still another possibility: Could this knowledge have come from the second eruption of the Nephilim, which occurred after the Flood?
"Tree Of Knowledge"
If we go further back, could one find a linkage between this esoteric knowledge and the "tree of knowledge" found in the Garden of Eden? We know that this was the one tree whose fruit Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat, or even touch (Genesis 2:17, 3:3). Why was this tree so named? Few commentators have shed any light on its meaning. Many dismiss the account as mere symbolism, without even telling us what the symbolism is supposed to represent. Others look upon the passage as poetry, conveniently forgetting poetry is often the truest history. It not only relates facts but interprets them as well. Poetry has been described as "history written from the inside rather than from the outside, and therefore incomparably truer. (13) Or in the words of British author Graham Green, "Poetry is the photography of the invisible."

Supposing we applied this principle to the "tree of knowledge." If it is a symbol, then obviously it must be a symbol of something. Or if poetry, then it must convey some inner truth. But why should one speculate and search for cryptic meanings when the truth may well be on the surface. Obviously, the "tree of knowledge" must have something to do with knowledge, or why should it be so named? It undoubtedly contained the key to certain divinely classified material that God did not want early man to possess. But somehow, and it could well be by means of the Nephilim, early man did come to possess that knowledge--at least a part of it.

This was knowledge that primitive man could never have discovered on his own. Indeed, it was knowledge beyond the capacity of modern man! Kelly Segraves reminds us:

"With all our intelligences, we cannot figure out how pyramids were constructed." (14)

We ask again, could this intelligence have been transmitted by the "sons of God"?

Egypt is not the only country that has pyramids. A whole network of them can be found around the planet--in Cambodia, Shen Shi, China, Thailand, Mexico, Nazca, Yucatan, Alaska... How does one account for such advanced scientific technology, on such a universal scale, and in such prehistoric times?

Could the answer be man's longevity at that time? The average age span before the Flood was close to nine hundred years-- thirteen times the proverbial "three score and ten." This, of course, provided exceptional opportunity for learning, research, experimentation and the accumulation of knowledge. If only modern-day scientists could live that long! But longevity alone could never account for the specialized knowledge that our forefathers possessed. Their awesome expertise indicates a source outside of themselves. No other viable explanation can be offered except that mankind was preprogrammed from the depths of space.

The Bible not only supplies the key to the source of this knowledge, but to the way it was transmitted--space-beings called "fallen-angels." As we have seen, such extraterrestrials possess superior knowledge. This they transmitted to man in direct contradiction to God's wishes.

Satan, the leader of fallen angels, is himself a creature of rare brilliance and inimitable genius. The Latin translation of his name, "Lucifer" (from the Hebrew "Helel"), comes from a root meaning "brilliance" or "magnificence." This is a trait he shares with his cohorts. He and they have access to classified, divine information, and are cognizant of hidden things (See Acts 16:16, 17).

According to Professor C. S. Dickerson, "The source of their knowledge is found in their superior created nature and in their vast experience, as they lived through many thousands of years observing and collecting information." (15)

John L. Nevius, after surveying demon possession in China, documents the amazing knowledge revealed by the demon- possessed:

"Many persons while demon possessed give evidence of knowledge which cannot be accounted for in ordinary ways. They often appear to know of the Lord Jesus as a divine person and show an aversion to, and a fear of Him. They sometimes converse in foreign languages of which in their normal states they are entirely ignorant." (16)

Betty And Barney Hill
Betty and Barney Hill of New Hampshire, while returning home from a vacation in Canada in 1961, spotted a flying saucer and pulled off the road to watch it land. The engine of their car went dead, but they have no recollection of what happened after that. The next thing they remembered was being close to home... sixty miles south! After this bizarre experience, they suffered from nightmares, anxiety syndromes and ulcers. They finally consulted a psychiatrist, the noted Dr. Benjamin Simon of Boston. By the use of hypnosis, he was able to induce from them —quite independently of each other— the story of those missing hours. Both told the same story. Taken aboard the flying saucer, they underwent physical examination by the humanoid occupants. Tape recordings were made of their story (given under hypnosis), and a book was published. Later, an NBC television movie was made of the event.

Stanton T. Friedman, a nuclear physicist, studied these reports and was greatly impressed. But what finally convinced him was the map drawn in 1964 by Betty Hill of a star system unknown to science at the time. Betty claimed that she had been shown this map aboard the UFO, and revealed the details of it under hypnosis. The astronomers who examined the map at that time, dismissed it. But since 1964 new evidence has appeared on the subject — star systems that were invisible in 1964 have now been discovered. And an amazing fact has come to light. Dr. Friedman explains:

"Using these new data, a computer came up with a map of the Zeta Reticuli system--faint stars 220 trillion miles away - which astronomers agree matches Mrs. Hill's precisely." (17)

Giants In Wickedness
Giants in wickedness is another distinction of the Nephilim. Sired by demonic beings, their character and activity certainly reveal the nature of the "fallen ones."

Many of the legends surrounding the cross breeding between the natural and the supernatural depict subhuman behavior. To the last one, the semi-gods of mythology —Zeus (the Roman Jupiter), Poseidon (Neptune), Eros (Cupid), Hermes (Mercury)— were violent, wanton, lustful and promiscuous beyond restraint. They constantly engaged in sex orgies and seduction, and produced the strangest of offspring. Emil Gaverluk tells of Zeus:

"He disregarded marriage laws and engaged in love affairs with members of both sexes. Zeus married Hera, his sister. One of the loves of Zeus was Europa. He seduced her by becoming a bull and carrying her away. Another was Leda, daughter of Thestios, King of Aetolia and the wife of Tyndereus, King of Sparta. But this did not stop Zeus...Athene was the daughter of Metis by Zeus. Metis tried to evade him. He seduced her. She warned him that if he did this again and the child was a male, that child would depose and conquer him. Zeus didn't like the sound of this and took no chances. He swallowed the child whole. Zeus' amorous victories illustrate the actions of uncontrolled spirit-beings lusting after human flesh." (18)

This is only one example from Greek mythology of the evil associations between spirit-entities from space and human beings from Earth. But it was not only the spirit-beings who acted this way; they seem to have passed on the trait to their descendants.

The Nephilim, in this respect more than in anything else, were close imitators of their fathers. They reflected the works of their demon ancestry. And just as there are degrees of goodness among the saints, so there are degrees of evil among the demons. Evidence of this is recorded in Matthew 12:43-45. It tells of the unclean spirit returning to occupy the house from which he had been displaced, and returns with "seven other spirits more wicked than himself."

Irrespective of the degree of evil, all demons are regarded by God as vile and depraved. A recurring biblical adjective is "unclean" (Matthew 10:1, Mark 1:27, 3:11). These spirits are both morally and spiritually unclean, and the same distinctive applies to their progeny on Earth. What is more, those who traffic with such beings, frequently end up like them. Indeed such is the degree of their degradation that the Lord abandons them to their own depravity. Romans 1:24-32 graphically states that "God gave them up." The depths of their degradation and the infamy of their immoralities, puts them on a level lower than animals. Abandoned by God to the consequences of their wickedness, and deranged by demonic harassment, people have been driven to insane asylums and even to suicide.

Is it any wonder when incorrigible spirit-beings and rebellious humans cooperated to pollute Earth, to seek genetic control and produce hybrids that threatened the race itself, and even tried to thwart the very plan of God, that God should intervene in a judgment terrible to behold? (19)
Giants In Pride
The Nephilim were giants in pride also. Lord Acton claimed that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. So does knowledge. With their superior intelligence and knowledge, the Nephilim soon succumbed to the sin that became the downfall of Lucifer--pride (1 Timothy 3:6). Like Lucifer, his followers also dreamed of being gods, desiring to control and rule the Earth. Their advanced knowledge was the desired diet for their egoism. Such knowledge wedded to an already arrogant nature led to self-deification. They craved divine honors and religious worship. This was the ambition of Lucifer, of the Nephilim, and of every fallen creature. They were propelled in all that they did by self-will, self-determination, self-glorification, and ultimately self-deification. No wonder Josephus refers to the Nephilim as "sons who were overbearing and disdainful of every virtue."

Man's fascination with the occult and otherworld phenomena is amazingly significant today. At no other time has he been more conditioned to accept the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Having once escaped his Mother Earth, man now strains at his celestial tether, wondering what or who lies beyond the final frontier. With this starward look, the stage could be set for the coming of the unwelcome guests from space. The "days of Noah" are again here; perhaps even now agents from another realm are plotting the return of the Nephilim.

The Sons of God and the Daughters of Men

"The craving of demons for a body, evident in the Gospels, offers at least some parallel to this hunger for sexual experience."

In 1947 an Arab boy tending his sheep accidentally discovered an ancient cave near the Dead Sea. In it were found a priceless collection of ancient scrolls which soon became known as the Dead Sea Scrolls or the Qumran Texts. Among these writings was one known as the Genesis Apocryphon. At first it was thought to be the long lost Book of Lamech. Although the scroll consisted of a speech by Lamech and a story about some of the patriarchs from Enoch to Abraham; it was not that book.

According to the Bible, Lamech was the son of Methuselah and the father of Noah. He was the ninth of the ten patriarchs of the antediluvian world.

It is significant, however, that the Genesis Apocryphon mentions the Nephilim, and makes reference to the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" introduced in Genesis 6. The Apocryphon also elaborates considerably on the succinct statements found in the Bible, and provides valuable insights into the way these ancient stories were interpreted by the ancient Jews.

The copy of the Genesis Apocryphon discovered at Qumran dates back to the 2nd century B.C., but it was obviously based on much older sources. When discovered in 1947, it had been much mutilated from the ravages of time and humidity. The sheets had become so badly stuck together that years passed before the text was deciphered and made known. When scholars finally made public its content, the document confirmed that celestial beings from the skies had landed on planet Earth. More than that, it told how these beings had mated with Earth-women and had begat giants.

Is this story myth or history, fable or fact? Specialized research has revealed that many ancient legends have a basis in fact. But to answer the question, let us consult the most authoritative document known to man — the Bible.

In Genesis 6:1-4 the "sons of God" are captivated by the beauty of the "daughters of men." They subsequently marry them and produce an offspring of giants known as the Nephilim. Genesis goes on to say that these Nephilim were "mighty men" and "men of renown."

"Sons of God"? "Daughters of men"? What sort of beings were these? Were they human or did they belong to an alien species from outer space? Identifying the Sons of God There is no problem in identifying the "daughters of men" for this is a familiar method of designating women in the Bible. The problem lies with the "sons of God." Three major interpretations have been offered to shed light on this cryptic designation.

First, a group within orthodox Judaism theorized that "sons of God" meant "nobles" or "magnates." Hardly anyone today accepts this view.

Second, some interpret the "sons of God" as fallen angels. These were enticed by the women of Earth and began lusting after them. Many reputable Bible commentators have rejected this theory on psycho-physiological grounds. How can one believe, they ask, that angels from Heaven could engage in sexual relations with women from Earth? Philastrius labeled such an interpretation a down-right heresy.

Third, many famed scholars contend that the "sons of God" are the male descendants of Seth, and that the "daughters of men" are the female descendants of Cain. According to this view, what actually happened in Genesis 6 was an early example of believers marrying unbelievers. The good sons of Seth married the bad daughters of Cain, and the result of these mixed marriages was a mongrel offspring. These later became known for their decadence and corruption; indeed, it reached such a degree that God was forced to intervene and destroy the human race. This comment of Matthew Henry could be taken as representative of those holding this view:

"The sons of Seth (that is the professors of religion) married the daughters of men, that is, those that were profane, and strangers to God and godliness. The posterity of Seth did not keep by themselves, as they ought to have done. They inter- mingled themselves with the excommunicated race of Cain." (1)

However, in spite of the excellent pedigree of the proponents of this theory, their argument is not convincing. Their interpretation is pure eisegesis--they are guilty of reading into the text what is obviously not there. False Exegesis Their interpretation fails on other grounds as well. At no time, before the Flood or after, has God destroyed or threatened to destroy the human race for the sin of "mixed marriages." It is impossible to reconcile this extreme punishment with the mere verbal strictures found elsewhere in the Bible for the same practice. If God is going to be consistent, He should have destroyed the human race many times over!

The contrast made in Genesis 6:2 is not between the descendants of Seth and the descendants of Cain, but between the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men." If by "sons of God" is meant "sons of Seth," then only the sons of Seth engaged in mixed marriages, and not the daughters. And only the daughters of Cain were involved, and not the sons. And another strange assumption is implied: that only the sons of Seth were godly, and only the daughters of Cain were evil. The strangeness is compounded when one seeks for evidence that the sons of Seth were godly. We know from Genesis that when the time came for God to destroy the human race, He found only one godly family left among them — that of Noah. Where were all the other supposedly godly sons of Seth? Even Seth's own son could hardly be called righteous. His name was Enos, meaning "mortal" or "frail." And he certainly lived up to it! Genesis 4:26 reads, "And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord." That statement seems harmless enough, but what does it mean when it says that it was only now that men began to call upon the name of the Lord? Upon whom did Adam call? And Abel? And Seth himself?

Some scholars give us a more literal and exact translation to this verse: "Then men began to call themselves by the name of Jehovah." Other scholars translate the statement in this manner: "Then men began to call upon their gods (idols) by the name of Jehovah." If either of these be the correct translation then the evidence for the so-called godly line of Seth is non- existent. The truth of the matter is that Enos and his line, with few noted exceptions, were as ungodly as the other line. The divine record could not be clearer: "all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth" (Genesis 6:12).

In the Old Testament, the designation "sons of God" (bene Elohim) is never used of humans, but always of supernatural beings that are higher than man but lower than God. To fit such a category only one species is known--angels. And the term "sons of God" applies to both good and bad angels. These are the beings of whom Augustine wrote:

"Like the gods they have corporeal immortality, and passions like human beings." (2)

The designation "sons of God" is used four other times in the Old Testament, each time referring to angels. One example is Daniel 3:25, where king Nebuchadnezzar looks into the fiery furnace and sees four men, "and the form of the fourth is like the son of God." The translation is different and clearer in our modern versions, "like a son of the gods." Since Jesus had not yet become the "only begotten son" of God, this "son" would have had to be angelic.

Another example is Job 38:7 which says the sons of God shouted for joy when God laid the foundations of the Earth. Angels are the only entities that fit this designation since man had not been created at that time!

In Job 1:6 and Job 2:1 the "sons of God" came to present themselves before the Lord in Heaven. Among the sons of God is Satan--a further implication that the "sons of God" must have been angels.

Since the designation "sons of God" is consistently used in the Old Testament for angels, it is logical to conclude that the term in Genesis 6:2 also refers to angels. The Sons of God: Three Categories In the New Testament, born-again believers in Christ are called the children of God or the sons of God [ Lucius (Lukius, Luke) 3:38, Yohanan (John) 1:12, 1 Yohanan (John) 3:1 ]. Dr. Bullinger in the Companion Bible states: "It is only by the divine specific act of creation that any created being can be called 'a son of God.'" This explains why every born-again believer is a son of God. It explains also why Adam was a son of God. Adam was specifically created by God, "in the likeness of God made He him" (Genesis 5:1). Adam's descendants, however, were different; they were not made in God's likeness but in Adam's. Adam "begat a son in his own likeness, after his image" (Genesis 5:3).

Adam was a "son of God," but Adam's descendants were "sons of men."

Lewis Sperry Chafer expresses this in an interesting way when he states:

"In the Old Testament terminology angels are called sons of God while men are called servants of God. In the New Testament this is reversed. Angels are the servants and Christians are the sons of God." (3)

It is thus clear that the term "sons of God" in the Bible is limited to three categories of beings: angels, Adam and believers. All three are special and specific creations of God. As for the use of the term in Genesis 6, since it cannot possibly refer to Adam nor believers in Christ, we conclude that it has to refer to the angels whom God had created.
Light Form the New Testament
Two New Testament passages shed further light on Genesis 6. They are Jude 6-7 and 2 Peter 2:4. These verses indicate that at some point in time a number of angels fell from their pristine state and proceeded to commit a sexual sin that was both unusual and repugnant. Jude 6-7 states:

"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh..."

These angels not only failed to keep their original dominion and authority, but they "left their own habitation." Habitation is a significant word: it means "dwelling place" or "heaven." And the addition of the Greek word "idion" ("their own") means that they left their own private, personal, unique possession. (4) Heaven was the private, personal residence of the angels. It was not made for man but for the angels. This is why the ultimate destination of the saints will not be Heaven but the new and perfect Earth which God will create (Revelation 21:1-3). Heaven is reserved for the angels, but as for the beings referred to in Jude 6-7, they abandoned it.

Not only did these angels leave Heaven, they left it once-for- all. The Greek verb "apoleipo" is in the aorist tense, thus indicating a once-for-all act. By taking the action they did, these angels made a final and irretrievable decision. They crossed the Rubicon. Their action, says Kenneth Wuest, "was apostasy with a vengeance." (5)

As to the specific sin of these angels, we are given the facts in Jude 7. As in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah it was the sin of "fornication" and it means "going after strange flesh." "Strange" flesh means flesh of a different kind (Greek "heteros"). To commit this particularly repugnant sin, the angels had to abandon their own domain and invade a realm that was divinely forbidden to them. Says Wuest:

"These angels transgressed the limits of their own natures to invade a realm of created beings of a different nature." (6)

Alford confirms:

"It was a departure from the appointed course of nature and seeking after that which is unnatural, to other flesh than that appointed by God for the fulfillment of natural desire."

The mingling of these two orders of being, was contrary to what God had intended, and summarily led to God's greatest act of judgment ever enacted upon the human race.

Tempting the Angels

Another New Testament verse may have bearing on Genesis 6. In I Corinthians 11:10, Paul instructs that a woman should cover her head as a sign of subjection to her husband, and also "because of the angels." This observation has intrigued commentators through the years. Why this sudden reference to angels? Could it be a reference to what happened in Genesis 6 where angels succumbed to the inducements and physical charm of the women of Earth? Obviously, Paul believed that an uncovered woman was a temptation even to angels. William Barclay mentions an old rabbinic tradition which alleges that it was the beauty of the women's long hair that attracted and tempted the angels in Genesis. (6)
Strange Parentage
The off-spring of this union between the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" were so extraordinary that it indicates an unusual parentage. In no way could the progenitors of such beings be ordinary humans. Their mothers possibly could be human, or their fathers, but certainly not both. Either the father or the mother had to be superhuman. Only in such a way can one account for the extraordinary character and prowess of the off-spring.

God's law of reproduction, according to the biblical account of creation, is "everything after his kind." God's law makes it impossible for giants to be produced by normal parentage. To produce such monstrosities as the Nephilim presupposes super- natural parentage.
Giants? "Nephilim" is a Hebrew word translated in the Authorized King James version as "giants." "There were giants in the earth in those days" (Genesis 6:4). It is true that they were giants in more senses than one. However, the word Nephilim does not mean "giants." It comes from the root "naphal," meaning "fallen ones," and most modern versions of the Bible have left the word "Nephilim" untranslated.

When the Greek Septuagint was made, "Nephilim" was translated as "gegenes." This word suggests "giants" but actually it has little reference to size or strength. "Gegenes" means "earth born." The same term was used to describe the mythical "Titans" — being partly of celestial and partly of terrestrial origin. (7)

The Hebrew and the Greek words do not exclude the presence of great physical strength. Indeed, a combined supernatural and natural parentage would imply such a characteristic. Angels, according to Scripture, are known for their power. They are often referred to as "sons of the Mighty" (Psalm 103:20). Therefore, if the ones who sired them were strong and mighty, it could be assumed that their offspring were likewise.

No evidence exists in Scripture that the offspring of mixed marriages (believers and unbelievers) were giants, excelling in great strength and might. No evidence can be found anywhere in history for that matter. Such an interpretation poses impossible assumptions.

When the word "Nephilim" is used in Numbers 13:33, the question of size and strength is explicit. Here we are left in no doubt as to their superhuman prowess. When Joshua's spies reported back from Canaan, they called certain of the inhabitants of Canaan "giants." "And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, which come of the Nephilim, and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."

Some commentators have speculated that the Nephilim of Numbers 13 belonged to a second eruption of fallen angels, since the earlier Nephilim had been destroyed in the Flood. And they see an allusion to this in Genesis 6:4, where it states that "there were Nephilim in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men." Could it be that the "after that" was a reference to the Nephilim found in Canaan during the Israelite entry into the land? If so, it could explain why the Lord commanded the total extermination of the Canaanites, as He had earlier ordered the near annihilation of the human race.
Nephilim — No Resurrection
The Book of Isaiah says that the Nephilim and their descendants will not participate in a resurrection as is the portion of ordinary mortals. Isaiah 26:14 reads: "They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise." The original Hebrew word translated "deceased" here is the word "Rephaim." It would have saved a lot of misinterpretation if the translators had left the word as it was in the original. The verse actually reads: "Dead, they shall not live; Rephaim, they shall not rise." The Rephaim are generally understood to be one of the branches of the Nephilim, and God's Word makes it clear that they are to partake in no resurrection. But with humans it is different: all humans will be resurrected either to life or to damnation (John 5:28-29).

[Pablo's Note: The Nephilim were hybrids of fallen anges and women; they are not human, they are considered bastards. They are the result of cosmic rebellion of a major kind. Therefore, they do not enjoy privileges allotted to mankind, not to angels or their atrophied descendants. Only the members of Adam's race are offered Redemption. So, when the Nephilim died their spirits might have become disembodied and free to roam, seeking the bodies of men, or animals, to possess them and dwell in them. Some have suggested that this group of disembodied spirits (demons) is responsible for the phenomenon of demon possession in the world and that there might be a differenciation between them and the fallen angels.]

We have already seen that the Greek Version of the Old Testament (The Septuagint) translated "Nephilim" as "gegenes;" we shall now inquire how it translates "sons of God." In some of the manuscripts it is left as "sons of God," but in the others —including the Alexandrian text— it is rendered by the word "angelos." This text was in existence in the time of Christ, but there is no indication that He ever corrected or queried it. Can we not assume from His silence that He agreed with the translation!
Rape of the Text
Having studied all the arguments in favor of "sons of Seth," one concludes that the only argument that is valid among them is that of rationality. "Sons of Seth" is an interpretation that is more palatable to human reason. Reason can never subscribe to the incredible notion that fallen angels could have sex relations with women of Earth. Angels have no physical bodies! They do not marry! They belong to an entirely different species of being! The mind revolts against such absurdity. So, what does one do? Settle, of course, for an easy, rational interpretation--sons of Seth and daughters of Cain. But what if the meaning of Scripture is clearly otherwise? There is the rub! Scripture is clearly otherwise! To impose a human interpretation at the expense of the obvious meaning of the divine Word, is a rape of the biblical text. Furthermore, when one deals with the world of the supernatural, rationality is never an argument.
Jewish and Patristic Fathers
The Jewish Fathers, when interpreting this expression from Genesis 6:2, invariably interpreted it as "angels." No less an authority than W.F. Allbright tells us that:

"The Israelites who heard this section (Genesis 6.2) recited unquestionably thought of intercourse between angels and women." (8)

Philo of Alexandria, a deeply religious man, wrote a brief but beautiful treatise on this subject, called "Concerning The Giants." Basing his exposition on the Greek version of the Bible, he renders it as "Angels of God." Says Bamberger, "Had he found the phrase 'sons of God' in his text, he most certainly would have been inspired to comment on it." (9)

Philo certainly took the Genesis passage as historical, explaining that just as the word "soul" applies both to good and evil beings, so does the word "angel." The bad angels, who followed Lucifer, at a later point in time failed to resist the lure of physical desire, and succumbed to it. He goes on to say that the story of the giants is not a myth, but it is there to teach us that some men are earth-born, while others are heaven- born, and the highest are God-born. (10)

The Early Church Fathers believed the same way. Men like Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Athenagoras, Tertullian, Lactantius, Eusebius, Ambrose...all adopted this interpretation. In the words of the Ante-Nicene Fathers, the angels fell "into impure love of virgins, and were subjugated by the flesh...Of those lovers of virgins therefore, were begotten those who are called giants." (11) And again, "...the angels transgressed, and were captivated by love of women and begat children." (12)

Nowhere before the 5th century A.D. do we find any interpretation for "sons of God" other than that of angels. We cannot deny the Jewish Fathers knowledge of their own terminology! They invariably translated "sons of God" as "angels." The testimony of Josephus, that colorful cosmopolitan and historian, is also of paramount importance. In his monumental volume, "Antiquities of the Jews," he reveals his acquaintance with the tradition of the fallen angels consorting with women of Earth. He not only knew of the tradition but tells us how the children of such union possessed super human strength, and were known for their extreme wickedness. "For the tradition is that these men did what resembled the acts of those men the Grecians called giants." Josephus goes on to add that Noah remonstrated with these offspring of the angels for their villainy. (13)

Perhaps the most conclusive argument for interpreting the expression as "angels" is the simplest one of all. If the writer of Genesis wanted to refer to the "sons of Seth" he would have just said so. If God had intended that meaning, then the verse would undoubtedly read, "the sons of Seth saw the daughters of Cain that they were fair..." But the Bible meant something far more sinister — the sexual union between angels from Hell and evil women from Earth. Because of the gravity of such a union, and its dire consequences for the human race, God moved to destroy the race before it could destroy itself — except for one family which had not been contaminated.
The Ultimate Sin
God made man in His own image, the highest of all His earthly creations. While God said that everything He made was good, He considered man very good. Man had been made for fellowship with God Himself, but he soon turned his back upon his Maker and worshipped the creature more than the Creator. Before many generations, the human race was being polluted by this abominable union with demons. It seemed that Hell and Earth were in league together against the God of Heaven. God's righteous anger was such that He regretted having made man.

"And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he had made man. ..."(Genesis 6:5-6)

It was specifically because of this ultimate sin that God brought about a deluge of such magnitude that man and beast were drowned from the face of the Earth. In the words of old Joseph Hall:

"The world was so grown foul with sin, that God saw it was time to wash it with a flood: and so close did wickedness cleave to the authors of it, that when they were washed to nothing, yet it would not wash off, yea, so deep did it stick in the very grain of the earth, that God saw it meet to let it soak long under the waters." (14)

Was Noah Immune
Why Noah and his immediate family were the only ones immune from this great judgment is significant. Genesis 6:9 says, "Noah was a just man." He stood out as an example of righteousness and godliness in a perverse age. Like Enoch before him, Noah also "walked with God." But there was another reason why Noah was spared, one that seems to have escaped most commentators. Genesis 6:9 says that Noah was "perfect in his generation." Does this mean moral and spiritual perfection? Hardly. Genesis 9:20-23 disproves any such perfection. What, then, does the Bible mean by calling him "perfect"? The Hebrew word is "tamiym" and comes from the root word "taman." This means "without blemish" as in Exodus 12:5, 29:1, Leviticus 1:3. Just as the sacrificial lamb had to be without any physical blemish, so Noah's perfection. In its primary meaning, it refers not to any moral or spiritual quality, but to physical purity. Noah was uncontaminated by the alien invaders.

He alone had preserved their pedigree and kept it pure, in spite of prevailing corruption brought about by the fallen angels. (15)

And again:

Noah's bloodline had remained free of genetic contamination. (16)

This implies, of course, that all the other families on Earth had been contaminated by the Nephilim. It also proves that the assault of Satan on the human race had been far more extensive than realized. It is no wonder that God pronounced such a universal fiat of judgment.

As for the fallen angels who participated in the abomination, God put them in custody "in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day" (Jude 6). This is sometimes interpreted as Tartarus or the "nether realms" (2 Peter 2:4). This would also explain why some fallen angels are in custody and why others are free to roam the heavens and torment mankind.

The Bible says that the b'nai Elohim, angels, sons of God, were ministers of creation, from before the worlds, Job 38:7. Contrary to popular secular theories, the b'nai Elohim are created beings distinct from ELOHIM the God of Israel. God created the b'nai Elohim to reflect His glory, and reflect His word which spoke all things into being. Before a third of the heavenly host rebelled, they were stewards of creation, building civilizations on the terrestrial planets of our solar system designed to glorify the Word of God. The Cydonia "face" is a monument constructed by these Sons of God, revealing their knowledge of the message in the stars. Both the Cydonia face and the Sphinx are cherubim, combining figures in the constellations Virgo and Leo, symbolic representations of the irst and second advent of Christ on Earth.
When Satan rebelled, God cast him as profane from the height of heaven, and he lost his position as leader of the angelic hierarchy. Because of his rebellion, the head of the cherubim was destroyed from the midst of the stones of fire, the planets, where he had reigned over literal material kingdoms. Evidence of the civilization on Mars can still be seen, while another planetary dwelling place of rebel angels was destroyed thoroughly, becoming the asteroid belt.
To link the rebellious Sons of God who inhabited the heavenly places , the atmosphere and beyond, to the current non-human intelligent beings we see more and more frequently, so-called "aliens", is not such a large step. Many advanced beings hint at angelic origin in their contact with humans through abductions and channeling. According to cereologists, advanced beings leave cryptic messages about their origins in glyphs and "crop circles". Cereologists have standards by which they measure the authenticity of crop circles, and certainly most have been proven to be of human construct. But there are crop glyphs attributed to advanced non human intelligences, appearing in connection with UFO activity, and most tellingly, alluding to the same place of origin as the rebellious Sons of God. Certain crop circles portraying the solar system demonstrate that the intelligences behind ufos are preoccupied with the planets and asteroid belt, the areas which the Sons of God still have dominion over. If the so-called aliens and their mysterious craft are not themselves the rebel b'nai Elohim, they are at least under the jurisdiction of Satan, the Prince of the Power of the Air.

The causes behind UFO sightings, abductions, and other paranormal phenomena are more malignant and awesome than any theory scientists have proposed . The tribulation, or End Times will officially begin when (Dan.9:27) Israel signs a treaty with the head of the government of unified Europe to establish a Jewish temple in Jerusalem and resume the ancient sacrificial system of worship there.
The man who signs this treaty for Israel will be unique, he will be believed by many to be the long awaited Messiah of the Jews. Bible prophecy calls him the Antichrist. This Antichrist is described in detail in scripture.

Daniel 11 describes the Anti christ:
"He shall not regard the God of his fathers, YHWH, nor the desire of women nor love any god, for he shall magnify himself above all. But in his place he shall honor the god of fortresses, (the Hebrew phrase is, Ala Mahozine), and he shall honor a god whom his fathers (the Jews), did not know (literally, AN ALIEN GOD)."
Baalhazor," Lord of the fortresses" provides a connection between Baal and the god of the Antichrist. Baal was lord of war and of the sky. Many titles were given to Baal by adding endings to his name. Some examples found in scripture are Baalbamoth= Lord of the high places, Baalzebub= Lord of those who fly, or, flit. Zebub is a Hebrew verb which means to flit from place to place.
Baal is identified as Satan by Jesus himself, Matt.10:25 Mark. 3:22 Luke 11:15.
The Antichrist will honor Satan, called Baal, Lord of Fortresses, Lord of the High Places , Lord of those who quickly fly (in the high places), Prince of the Power of the Air, and obviously Prince of the Power behind flying craft in the high places...ufos.
Incredibly, the Bible explains where Satan currently resides, and connects him with forces in the atmosphere. . . Paul says we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and powers, with wicked spirits in high places, literally, "in the heavens" "in the aerial regions" Eph.6:12. Hence Satan is called "the prince of the Power of the air" "the prince of the aerial host" Eph.2:2. The confederation of rebel angels is seated in the atmospheric heaven in the spaces above and around our world. This fundamental of scripture contradicts many traditional concepts of "hell" as the domain of the devil and his minions . King David recognized this fully when he wrote:
For who in the sky (the atmosphere), shall be ranked with Jehovah, who among the sons of the mighty is like Jehovah? Psalm 89:6
While the New Testament uses the Greek word "demon" to refer to these "sons of the mighty", the Old Testament uses revealing descriptive names. Words which describe these beings, such as b'nai Elohim, "sons of God", Zophim, "the watchers", and Malakh, "messengers", (translated angel in English), are used for the "aerial host" often regardless of alignment. New Testament demons were understandably associated with evil, since originally the Greek term diamon meant "any deity", and the Bible consistently portrays only one God. There are three main terms for demons in the New Testament: daimonion (demon; 60 times, 50 in the Gospels); pneuma (spirit; some 52 times) usually with a qualifying adjective such as akatharton (unclean; 21 times) or poneron (evil; 8 times); and angelos (7 times of demonic agencies). Scripture explains that Satan and his host of fallen angels rule over this planet, it also details a hierarchy of demonic echelons.
Jesus Christ explained to his apostles what events would immediately precede his second coming, "It shall be exactly as in the days before Noah entered the ark". Matt 24:38 , Luke 17:27. What is the significance of this statement and how does it relate to Ufos? The Flood epic Gen. 6 begins with a strange account of the "sons of God" (b'nai Elohim), taking wives from among the daughters of Adam.
"In those days giants [nephilim] were in the earth, the men of renown of whom ancient tales are told".
The word which is translated, "giants", in the King James version of the Bible is, in Hebrew, "Nephilim", which means, "Those who fell, or ... the fallen ones". Jude, the brother of Jesus describes them as "angels, having left their first estate in heaven". These fallen angels came to earth for a serious purpose.
The "fallen ones" sought to merge with the bloodline of Adam, because of the promise to send a redeemer through Adam's kinsman. The Hebrew says that the Sons of God saw that the women were a fit "extension", for they sought to extend themselves into this realm from the spirit realm, as well as to extend themselves into the "children of the promise" the lineage of Adam. Satan tried to prevent the eventual birth, in the distant future, of the Messiah.
The mating of human beings with angels resulted in hybrid creatures, evil spirits with human bodies. The human .. angel hybrids began to corrupt and destroy the human race, resulting in the Deluge, "the end of all flesh" except Noah and his family.
Scripture uses other names to describe these degraded fallen angels and their descendents in addition to the word Nephilim, they are. . . .

* Zophim - watchers, angels who descended Num. 23, distinct from "holy watchers" aligned with God
* Sepherim - the many. . . .
The book of the Jubilees remarks that Jared or Yeh-red, an Old Testament patriarch, was so called because in his days the angels descended upon the earth - Yaw-rad "descend". It is interesting to note that "Jordan" comes from that same root word denoting "descent, coming down or falling" - Yar-dane "the place of the descent". Jordan, "place of the descent", is located in the ancient boundary of Israel. Israel is currently a major location for sightings, and the fallen angels in disguise as "aliens".
The Book of Enoch explains that the Sons of God descended first onto the mountain called Hermon which in Hebrew means desolation, in the land of Jordan the place of the descent. Desolation is exactly what the rebel angels intended to make the earth by destroying the descendents of Adam. Obviously, to make desolate the earth, not only of man but of God's influence has been the devil's goal from the beginning.

NEW AGE RESPONSE TO CHRISTIAN APPREHENSION
Many Christians recognize Ufos and extraterrestrials as being under the authority of the Prince of the Power of the Air, Prince of the Aerial Host, Lord of those that fly.... Satan. Jesus warned that one of the signs of the end times was that it would be " just as it was in the times of Noah". In Genesis we see the account of non-human intelligent beings "breeding" with humans, creating hybrids and contributing to the proliferation of evil against God.The messages we see from contact with extraterrestrials and other advanced beings contain claims that they are the ones who created us, through genetic manipulation.
That one characteristic of "alien" encounters alone should make it obvious that extraterrestrials and the rebel Sons of God of Genesis are one and the same!

Satan's time is short...
Prophecy warns that advanced beings, the b'nai Elohim or SONS OF GOD, not "gods", will continue to deceive mankind. Although the Bible itself does indeed say that the Sons of God genetically manipulate humans, they are not THE creators of the human race but merely beings who pervert God's creation. We are warned not to believe these angels, for they have an agenda...to mislead the world. Extraterrestrials may admit they are angelic, but they give themselves away as the rebel angels.
Satan and his rebel angelic hosts are subverting creation by twisting the truth, in their attempt to "be like the Most High".
Judgment will befall these gods who claim to be God, and the people who believe them:

The New Age sets up a scenario of miracles, earth changes, and aid from enlightened beings. The Bible warns us that there will be many signs preceding the arrival of anti-christ, but also tells us few will escape the deception of the end times:
And his [anti-christ 's] coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all wicked deception to those who are perishing. For they have not loved the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God sends them a misleading influence that they may believe the lie, that all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have preferred wickedness.
Revelation 12:7 And there was a battle in heaven, Michael and his angels battled with the dragon. And (the dragon) did not prevail, neither was his place found any more in heaven. And that great dragon was cast down, the ancient serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, who leads astray the whole world, and he was cast down to the earth and with him his angels were cast down.
At the midpoint of the tribulation Satan and his minions will be cast to earth to be judged...the deception sets up the world to welcome rebel angels as anything but demonic.

The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time was released in June of l992 and has created a stir of intrigue and queries for more information ever since. Montauk Revisited: Adventures in Synchronicity sought to answer many of those questions and ended up providing an even more elaborate scenario that left us on the threshold of the occult and its relationship with the major mystery schools of Earth. The third book in the Montauk series, Pyramids of Montauk: Explorations in Consciousness digs deeper into the psyche of the Montauk phenomena and gives startling insights into the construction and drama of the universe. This prelude is designed to familiarize the first time reader who is new to the subject and also to reorient those who have read the first two books.
The origin of the Montauk Proiect dates back to 1943 when radar invisibility was being researched aboard the USS Eldridge. As the Eldridridge was stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, the events concerning the ship have commonly been referred to as: the "Philadelphia Experiment". The objective of this experiment was to make the ship undetectable to radar and while that was achieved, there was a totally unexpected and drastic side effect. The ship became invisible to the naked eye and was removed from time and space as we know it! Although this was a remarkable breakthrough in terms of technology, it was a catastrophe to the people involved. Sailors had been transported out of this dimension and returned in a statc of complete mental disorientation and horror. Some were even planted into the bulkhead of the ship itself. Those who survived were discharged as "mentally unfit" or otherwise discredited and the entire affair was covered up. After the war, research continued under the tutelage of Dr. John von Neumann who had directed the technical aspects of the Philadelphia Experiment. His new orders were to find out what made the mind of man tick and why people could not be subject to interdimensional phenomena without disaster. A massive human factor study was begun at Brookhaven National Laboratories on Long Island, New York. It was known as the Phoenix Project.
Von Neumann was not only the inventor of the modern computer and a mathematical genius in his own right; he was able to draw on the enormous resources of the military industrial complex which included the vast data base of Nazi psychological rescarch that the Allies had acquired after World War II. It was against this background that von Neumann attempted to couple computer technology with sophisticated radio equipment in an attempt to link people's minds with machines. Over time, his efforts were quite successfull. After years of empirical experimentation, human thoughts could eventually be received by esouteric crystal radio receivers and relayed into a computer which could store the thoughts in terms of information bits. This thought pattern could in turn be displayed on a computer screen and printed out on a piece of paper. These principles were developed and the techniques were enhanced until a virtual mind reading machine was constructed. At the same time, technology was developed so that a psychic could think a thought that could be transmitted out a computer and potentially affect the mind of another human being. UItimately,the Phoenix Project obtained a superior understanding of how the mind functions and achieved the sinister potential for mind control. A full report was made to Congress who in turn ordered the project to be disbanded, at last in part for fear of having their own minds controlled.
Private concerns that helped to develop the project did not follow the dictate of Congress and sought out to seduce the militarv with the idea that this technology could be used in warfare to control enemy minds. A secret group with deep financial resources and some sort of military tie decided they would establish a new research facility at Camp Hero, a derelic Air Force Station at Montauk Point. New York. This locale was chosen because it housed a huge Sage radar antenna that emitted a frequency of approximately 400-425 Megahertz coincidentally the same band used to enter the consciousness of the human mind. ln the late '60s, the reactivation of Camp Hero began despite no funding from the military. By1972, the Montauk Project was fully underway with massive mind control experimentation being undertaken upon humans, animal and other forms of consciousness that were deemed to exist.
Over the years, the Montauk researchers perfected their mind control techniques and continued to delve further into the far reaches of human potential. By developing the psychic abililies of different personnel, it eventually got to the point where a psychic's thoughts could be amplified with hardware, and illusions could be manifested both subjectively and objectively. This included the virtual creation of matter. All of this was unparalleled in the history of what we call "ordinary human experience" but the people who ran the Montauk Project were not about to stop. They would reach even further into the realm of the extraordinary. Once it was discovered that a psychic could manifest matter, it was observed that it could appear at different times, depending on what the psychic was thinking. Thus, what would happen if a psychic thought of a book but thought of it appearing yesterday? It was this line of thinking and experimentation which led to the idea that one could bend time itself. After years of empirical research, time portals were opened with massive and outrageous experiments being conducted. The Montauk Project eventually, came to a bizarre climax with a time vortex being opened back to 1943 and the original Philadelphia Experiment.
None of this information would have come to light except for Preston B. Nichols, an electronic genius who one day discovered that he was an unwitting victim of the experiments. Working for a Long Island defense contractor, Preston war researching telepathy in psychics and found that persistent radio waves were being transmitted which were blocking the people he was working with. As a radio and electronics expert, Preston traced the radio signals directly to the Montauk Air Force Station and began exhaustive research that lasted over a decade. He acquired much of the equipment that was used during the Montauk Project and discovered to his dismay that many people from Montauk remembered him working there. It came to a culmination point when his cousin's husband insisted that he had been at Montauk. The two men almost came to blows over Preston's contention that he had never been at Montauk. Shortly after this argument, Preston began to get glimmers of a life he'd not previously been aware of. After talking to many different scientists and engineers who had some sort of association with the Montauk Project, Preston was able to put together what had happened. Somehow, he had survived on two separate time lines. On one, he worked at Montauk; on the other, he worked at a different location.
Preston's discoveries were confirmed when a strange man by the name of Duncan Cameron appeared at his door in 1985. Duncan had an uncanny aptitude for psychic research and eventually claimed to have been trained in this field by the NSA (National Security Agency). Without mentioning his own ordeal with Montauk, Preston took Duncan out to Montauk and was surprised to discover that he knew the entire layout of the base and remembered working there. Duncan was considered to be the primary psychic used in the time travel experiments and also remembered having been aboard the U.S.S. Eldridge during the original Philadelphia Experiment with his brother Edward (now recognized as Al Bielek).
According to the accounts of both Preston and Duncan, the Montauk Project culminated on August 12, 1983. A full blown time portal was fully functioning, but things were out of control and Duncan called together a group of people and decided to crash the project. While sitting in the Montauk Chair (a device connected to esoteric radio receivers studded with crystals that sent thoughts out of a giant transmitter), Duncan unleashed a giant beast from his subconscious which literally destroyed the project. The people who had been working on the base suddenly abandoned it. The air shafts and entrances to the major underground facility beneath the base were subsequent14- filled with cement. The full circumstances behind all ol this remain a mystery to this day.
Although an unauthorized video had been widely distributed regarding this story and several lectures had been given on the Montauk Project, no book was forthconing on the subject. Different writers had attempted to undertake the task but were either mentally incapable of dealing with the subject or were frightened off one way or the other. One science reporter for the New York Times started the project but backed off when he discovered to his own surprise that the Montauk Project was indeed quite real.
I came upon Preston while researching an elaborate sound system he had invented and soon found myself listening to a spectacular story that was at least better science fiction than I'd ever heard. After several months, I decided to undertake writing The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time. That book was written without consulting anyone other than Preston (who wanted to protect his sources). Rather than do a costly and time consuming investigation, my strategy was to get the information out as fast as possible and use the book to gather other clues that would corroborate or eventually prove the existence of this incredible story.
As The Montauk Project was published further research and events continued that would indeed establish that there was a real scenario behind the wild information Preston was talking about. These were chronicled in Montauk Revisited. but the most spectacular of all these corroborations was the discovery that the Montauk Project was inextricably linked to the most infamous occultist of all time: Aleister Crowley, often described as "the wickedest man in the world". According to reports, Crowley himself had used the practice of sexual magick in order to manipulate time itself, communicate with disembodied entities and to travel interdimensionally. It was even suggested that the interdimensional nature of the Philadelphia Experiment could have been the outward expression of Crowley's magical operations.
Thc startling proof of Crowley's association developed over a long period of time, but the discovery began to take shape in my very, first conversation with Preston when he seemed to blurt out of the blue that he was connected to the magician Aleister Crowley. In an earlier life, he believed that both hirnself and Duncan had been Preston and Marcus Wilson, respectively. These brothers were twins and had been the first manufacturers of scientific instruments in Great Britain. In addition to being friends of Aleister Crowley's family, they had also been involved in a joint business enterprise with them.
All of the above sounded like one more wild story, so I hegan to look for any references to the Wilsons in Aleister Crowley's various books. None turned up. To my surprisc though, I discovered that not only had Crowley visited Montauk (in 1918) but he had mentioned a "Duncan Cameron" in his autobiography. Subsequent to this, numerous instances of synchronicity between the Cameron and Crowley families were discovered, (these are detailed in Montauk Revisited but I still could not find any references to the Wilson brothers.
The meaning of these various synchronicities (between the Cameron name and Crowley) began to be explained when I found out about a woman who called herself "Cameron". She is perhaps most famous for having been married to Jack Parsons, the world's first solid fuel rocket scientist and a disciple of Crowley. Together, they had participated in an interdimensional activity known as the Babalon Working (a ceremonial act which included sex magick and has been hailed by some as thc greatest magical act of the century).
Through a further series of incredible synchronicitiesn I would fly to Southern California on other business and meet a friend of Cameron's quite by "accident". Discovering to my surprise that she lived in California, I soon found myself tellingher about the Philadelphia Experiment, the Montauk Project, and the Crowley/Cameron relationship. Much to my surprise, she informed me that her real name wasn't Cameron at all. It was Wilson!
lt now became obvious that Preston 's story about being a Wilson could not be discounted nor could his general credibility be denied. Perhaps more importantly, it revealed that some very strange correspondences were at work that had to do with interdimensionality.
I would receive an astonishing letter several months later that would close the case as regards whether or not the Wilson brothers had existed. It was from a man named Amado Crowley who claimed to be an illegitimate son of Aleister Crowley. Not only did he remember his father talking about the Wilson brothers. but he also provided clues which revealed that the odds of his lying ahout his parentage were nil.
Amado not only verified the existence of the Wilson brothers, he gave a spectacular account of his father's whereabouts on August 12, 1943 (the day of the Philadelphia Experiment). Aleister had directed a magical ceremony at Men-an-Tol in Cornwall, England where a large donut style rock lays upright in the water. According to Amado, Aleister put him through the hole in the rock whereupon a line of rough water ran from the coast of England to Long Island, New York.
For the most part, this is where the book Montauk Revisited ends'.
Amazing discoveries were made which showed that Preston was not off his rocker and that his general line of reasoning was valid. That is what this book was meant to do. Additionally, it showed that the forces which manifested the Montaok Project were deeply entrenched in the occult.
While Montauk Revisited did reveal a fascinating; web of intrigue that is unparalleled in certain respects, it did not deliver many final conclucions. But even though we were Ieft hanging at the edge of our seats with many unanswered questions, the book did accomplish something very important. It ushered us to the very threshold of the mystery schools, those secret organizations which have exsisted since timt immemorial and have sought to regulate our conciousness and personal freedom. It is at this point that we open the door to our current book: The Pyramids of Montauk: Explorations in Conciousness.
The Kogi people trace themselves back to the pre-Colombian Tyrona people who were contemporaries of the Inca. They are a mystical people with a power that no one else possesses, the power of a twenty-six dimensional world.
A man named Ellis, who used to work closely... with Hunbatz Men, came and began to tell this story. He said that... in Columbia, there was an aboriginal tribe... deep in the Amazon jungle... called the Kogi.
They had no language... and "spoke" only telepathically... to each other. In truth, they made little sounds, but these sounds... were not logically arranged... into any pattern... such as an alphabet.
They were just sounds, but these sounds... came from the heart... not the mind... and created images... inside your head, and you could "see" what the other person... was communicating.
Ellis said... that they were able to "travel" out of body clearly... and knew everything... that was happening around the world, though they had never physically left... their homeland. They had never even tried... to communicate.. with the outside world, except to a very fortunate few.
The Kogi... do not see us... as "sleeping" as many of the Hindu and Oriental religions perceive us. The Kogi... see us as "dead". We are not alive, but only shadows... of the energy we could be. We do not have enough... life force energy and consciousness... to be classified by them as real people.
And the Kogi believed... with the use of their psychic abilities, they could see the future clearly. And what they saw... was similar to what many other tribes... around the world saw, a world... that was about to be destroyed... by the misuse of consciousness.
So sometime ago... they traveled over the whole world... in their light bodies... searching for anyone... who is alive. And in the whole world, they could only find one other tribe... who were Mayan... that lived far in the jungles... of Guatemala. They were so happy... to find someone else... who was alive.
But the Kogi belief, their prophesy, was that with the coming... of the Eclipse... on August 11th, of 1999... all the world... would stop and only the Kogi and this one other Mayan tribe... would survive to inhabit the Earth. This is why they were so happy... to find someone else... other than themselves... who understood.
Then when the eclipse... slowly revealed its face... on the 11th of August, it became apparent to the Kogi... that something had happened... since the time... they had searched... the world for life.
Something that they could not understand... for the "great change" had happened, and we, the "dead" ones... were still here. We should have dissolved back... into the Dream. Not that they wanted us to, that was not their nature. It simply should have happened.
So the Kogi... set out to find out... why the "dead ones" were still on Earth, and as they searched... the living vibrating records... of this Reality, they found... exactly where and why... it had happened.
Some of the "dead ones", had become alive, and had created a dream... with enough life force... to "save the world" as we know it. In our terms, some of us... had created a "parallel world", where life could continue to grow, a world... where the "dead" could become alive. The Kogi... were so specific... to locate... exactly who these people were... that were creating this change... that had altered the world's destiny.
The Kogi... saw these people... with living bodies of light ... around them. People who had activated their "Light Bodies" or in the ancient terms, their "Mer-Ka-Ba".
History of the Kogi Tribe
The Kogi... are an indigenous people... who live in a mountain... in the high Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains... of northern Colombia, in South America. Their remote mountain home... is situated in Northern Columbia, and is considered to be the highest coastal mountain range... in the world.
Spanish Invasion - 1500's
In 1498, the Spaniards arrived... in Northern Colombia... enslaving the native Indians. The Kogi... fled to the mountaintop... where they have managed... to remain... an isolated tribe ever since.
During the Spanish Conquest, the narrow coastal strip bordering the Sierra Nevada... was the scene... of violent battles... in which, the European invaders... tried to subdue... the Indians... who put up fierce resistance. The Kogi, are the only tribe... the Spanish... didn't conquer.
These Indians, known as the Tairona, had reached by the early sixteenth century... a high level... of cultural development, making them... amongst the most advanced... of all the aboriginal groups... of the Kingdom of New Grenada... what is today Columbia.
The tribe known as 'Los Kogui' are the direct descendants of the Tairona civilization... and are today's custodians of that ancient culture.
The Tairona culture... flourished in Northern Colombia.. around 1,000 AD.
They left behind... stunning gold artwork, stone and pottery artifacts... and an amazing network... of brick roads... covering the Sierra Nevada. They have a population... of approximately 12,000 people.
They live to a very old age, mostly in good health.
These huts... are those... of what is known, as the Kankurua. To penetrate a Kankurua... is to enter into contact... with the nine worlds... and the nine states of consciousness... that make it up. They plant crops and live off the land.
They prefer not to mix... with outsiders. Few Colombians, or those from the outside worlds, are allowed to enter their mountain. They marry in their culture.
Some say... they have moved beyond verbal language, using tones to create... colorful images... in their minds... rather than thoughts... expressed as sentences. Some Kogi... speak telepathically... to each other.
The Kogis... constantly move about... from place to place, between their different abodes... spread among... the different levels... of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This is one way... in which, they take care of their nutritional needs... without abusing the environment.
The Mountain
The Sierra Nevada, in the shape of a pyramid, rises... from the sunny coasts... of the Caribbean tropics... to the chilly, snow- capped peaks... that reach a height... of 17,000 feet, above sea level, all in only 30 vertical miles.
Within just fifty kilometers... the northern slopes... descend from snow capped peaks... to the turquoise waters, tropical jungle shores and coral reefs of the Caribbean ocean.
Day and night... are of equal length all year round.
It has every eco-system... in its 17,000 km2 area, (8,000 sq. miles). You can find coral reefs, mangroves, arid deserts, rain and cloud forest, and in the higher elevations, plains and snow-capped peaks... with temperatures... close to Ç20 degrees.
The highest peak... is the Pico Simon Bolivar at 5,775 mtrs.
In 1965, archeologists found... the remains, of a lost Tairona religious center... and called it... the 'Lost City.' It is a three-day hike... in dense jungle... to witness a true wonder... of the past.
It is believed... that there are two more... lost cities.
These highlands are inhabited... by the Gods... and the spirits of the dead. A universe of signs and symbols, this territory... is a veritable "open book" which is their bridge... to the world, and their collective history.
Spiritual Connections
The Kogi believe... the Sierra Nevada... to be the 'Place of Creation', and the 'Heart of the World'.
They call themselves... the Elder Brothers of humanity... and consider their mission... to care for planet. They understand... how the planet works... as an integrated unit... rather than the separation of all things in our worlds.
Much like... other ancient tribal civilizations, that still exist on the planet, they believe themselves... to be the custodians... of the planet Earth, here to keep things in balance. They achieve this... through meditation, wherein they communicate... with all living things on the planet... humans, animals, plants, rock, etc.
They live in Aluna, an inner world... of thought and potential. From Aluna, they astral travel or remote view... to places both on and off... the physical planet.
Their sacred lands... are perceived... as a metaphysical symbol of cosmic forces... within the whole world... an oracle of the natural balance and health of the planet. As with other indigenous tribes, Kogi society... has changed little... in the past five centuries.
They survived as a culture... because the Kogi... focus all their energy, on the life of the mind... as opposed to the life of a body or an individual.
Fundamental to that survival... is the maintenance... of physical separation... from their world... and the rest of humanity. They are very protective... of their sacred space... and the dense jungle... is not kind to tourists.
They worry about the destruction... of the rain forest... as well as the planet itself. This area... embraces some of the most biologically diverse tropical rainforests... on the planet. The Kogi... are inseparable... from the rainforest habitat... in which, they have lived, since the dawn of time.
As with most indigenous tribes... a connection to Spirit or entities from other worlds... who bring messages, is found.
Through oracle prophecies... and message with Spirit, they are aware of a great change... that is coming now, to planet Earth. Their Mountain is dying, symbolizing this transition. Similar to what... many other tribes... around the world... see, is a world that was about to be destroyed... by the misuse of consciousness. Then they saw the emergence... of light consciousness... as part of the process... of humanity... emerging as a race of beings... in higher evolved light bodies. This strongly connects... with the metaphysical teachings... of our times.
Shamanic Practices - Coca Plant
Shaman are called 'Mamas'.
Kogi Mamas... are chosen from birth... and spend the first nine years, of childhood... in a cave... in total darkness... learning the ancient secrets... of the spiritual world or "Aluna". They are the priests and judges who control Kogi society.
All major decisions... and shamanic work... are done... by Divination. All is the world of Aluna, so the Mamas... see a reflection... of the physical world... first, in the spiritual world. If Aluna... is the Mother, then the Kogi listen... to the Mother... by divining.
This lost technique... of divination... is what keeps the Kogi world... in balance and order.
The Mamas... as with other spiritual tribal leaders... around the world... are worried that the Younger Brother... has not heeded... the first warning. If the Sierra Nevada or the Mother dies, the world will also die.
They use the coca bush... for many things. Myths reveal... that it was the Aluna... herself, who instituted coca chewing... among the Kogi... and who gave a lime gourd... to her first son, as a symbolic wife.
Other myths... tell that coca... was originally discovered... in the flowing hair... of a young girl... who let her father... only... participate in its use. An envious and jealous young man... transformed himself... into a bird and, after watching the girl... bathing in the river, seduced her. When he returned home... and changed back... into human shape, he shook his hair... and out of it... fell two coca seeds.
Small plantations... of coca shrubs... are found... near all Kogi settlements, and provide the men... with tender green leaves, plucked by the women. All adult men... chew the slightly toasted leaves, adding to the moist wad... small portions of lime.
Coca shrubs are planted and tended... by the men... but the leaves... are gathered by women. Periodically, the men toast these leaves... inside the temple, using for this end... a special double-handled pottery vessel. This ritual vessel... made by a Kogi priest... can be used... only for the toasting of coca leaves.
When chewed with coca, lime, is a substance... which helps the mucous membranes... in the mouth... absorb the alkaloids, in the leaves. The Kogi produce Lime... by burning sea shells... on a small pyre... carefully constructed... with chosen splints. The fine white powder... is then sifted... into a ritual gourd... which is carried... by all men.
The Lime container... consists of a small gourd... which is slightly pear-shaped and perforated... along the top. While all lime gourds... consist of the same raw material, the wood of the stick... which is inserted into it, must correspond... to the patriline... of the owner.
Each patriline... uses a different wood... taken from the trees... belonging... to certain botanical species. The length of the stick... may vary from 20 to 30cms. and together... with the degree of surface polish, these various characteristics... identify its owner. An initiated Kogi man... will easily recognize the patriline... of his companions, simply by looking... at their lime sticks.
The symbolic importance... of the lime container and its stick... is manifold. In one, most important image, the gourd is a woman. During the marriage ceremony... the mÖma gives the bridegroom... a gourd... with these words: "Now I give you a lime gourd; I give you a woman."
He then hands the bridegroom... the lime stick and orders him... to perforate with it... the gourd... at its upper end, thus, symbolizing the act... of deflowering the bride.
Both men and women... say quite openly... that coca chewing, has an aphrodisiacal effect... upon male sexuality, and newly wed couples... are very outspoken about this. Male initiation, marriage, and habitual coca chewing... are three elements... which coincide... at a certain period... in a young mans life.
Young men... sometimes say... that they dislike coca chewing, but most of them, sooner or later, yield to the pressures... exercised by the priests... and the older generation, and adopt the habit.
While slowly chewing... some twenty or thirty toasted leaves, the man will wet... the lower and slightly pointed end... of the stick... with saliva... and will insert it... into the gourd. Withdrawing the stick again... he will put the adhering lime... into his mouth. Immediately he will rub the stick... around the top... of the gourd... in a circular motion.
Eventually, this daily repeated action... of rubbing the stick.... on the gourd surface... begins to form... a thin layered crust, of yellowish-white lime... that covers the upper part... of the container. Some old lime gourds... display a disc shaped accretion... of up to 10cms. in diameter, carefully fashioned... by the gourd's owner.
The many symbolic meanings... of coca chewing and of the physical objects... involved in this act, form a coherent whole. In macrocosmic perspective, a lime gourd... is a model of the universe; the stick when inserted, becomes a world axis, and knowledgeable men... will be able to talk... at great length, explaining the structure... of the universe... in terms of levels, rims or directions... appearing on the gourd.
On another scale, the gourd... can be compared to the Sierra Nevada; the lime-splattered upper part.... are the snow peaks, and the stick is the world axis. Certain mountain peaks, crowned with white, rocky cliffs, are the Sun's lime containers, and so are all the temples and houses.
The coca plant... is an integral part... of the Kogi way of life, deeply involved... with their traditions, religion, work and medicine. It may even influence.... the fertility... of the tribe. Perhaps the most ancient use... of coca... in South America... is its employment... in shamanistic practices and religious rituals.
The mild mental excitation... induced by chewing the coca leaves, enables the shaman... to enter more easily... into a trance state... in which... he could communicate... with the spiritual forces... of nature and summon them... to his aid.
Large scale deforestation and clearing... of the jungle... is posing a massive threat... to the natural habitat... of the Sierra Nevada, and its flora and fauna. In recent years... the sinister illusion... of the marijuana cultivation... practiced by settlers... from inland and fueled by encouragement... by the Columbian and International mafia... has destroyed vast areas of the jungle.
The Twentieth Century
As the world becomes 'smaller' and 'old' meets 'new' - even the most ancient civilizations... will become part... of the evolution... now occurring... for all of humanity... as a race. Nothing in human history, ever remains the same... as we move through our journey... back to our spiritual origins.
In 1990, the Kogi decided... they must speak out... to the rest of the world. They had survived... by keeping themselves isolated... but they decided that it was time to send a message to the Younger Brother.
They could see... that something was wrong... with their mountain, with the heart... of the world. The snows... had stopped falling and the rivers... were not so full. If their mountain... was ill, then the whole world... was in trouble.
A few years ago... the Kogi Tribe, approached the BBC and Alan Ereira, asking them... to pass on... the tribe's concerns... about the fate... of the world.
In response... to the tribe's request, the BBC... produced a documentary... called "From the Heart of the World", and Ereira... wrote a companion book... called "The Elder Brothers".
Ereira translates... the Kogi concept... of Aluna, a spirit world, which imitates... everything material. According to the Kogi, Aluna is intelligence; it is concentrated thought and memory; it is spiritual energy; it makes possible... such human aspects as growth, birth and sexuality. Aluna created nine worlds, and each world... was given a single daughter. The first eight worlds... were infertile, but the ninth... was capable of conceiving children.
This daughter... gave birth to Serankua, the first man, who fertilized the world and created human beings. As one Kogi put it, "the world was made... in the beginning... and we were made afterwards. Then Serankua... looked at the earth... which we have. He said to the humans, "'you are beings... created to protect it, to maintain the balance, to care for the world, the universe. Concentrate and take care of it.
The Earth is this ninth daughter, the only fertile child of Aluna. She is a woman, a female body, and her minerals... are her fertility. Today, the remaining gold ore... is viewed as evidence... of the earth's continuing fertility. For the Kogi, the invasion... of the Spanish conquistadors... was a tragedy... like none they'd ever known; tomb-robbing... became a dire concern.. of the tribal people.
According to the Kogi, if humans dug up... the earth's gold, she could lose... her fertility and eventually die. One Kogi explained, "the earth is like a person. Robbing tombs, stealing gold, it will die. We don't take out... the earth's gold. We know it is there... but we do not take it.
We know from our divinations... that the advice of the Mother... is not to take the gold. If they take all the gold... the world will end. They are cutting the flesh... off the Mother's body. They have stolen... the spirits... of all things... from the Mother."
Since the film was brought out... many changes... have taken place. The film... had a major impact, on the Colombian Government... and also on the grave robbers. The grave robbers felt... that they should stop... because they felt bad... about disturbing their ancestors.
There are now two Kogi members... of parliament. The Tairona Heritage Trust... was set up... to support the Kogi... and to buy back... some of the original Kogi lands... to give them... a passage to the sea.
The Aboriginal People of Australia
For the aboriginal people... of Australia, the earth... was not thought of... as a body... so much as a melody... a song... representing a map of directions. But as Bruce Chatwin, wrote in his book, "The Songlines", it is interesting... to remember... that the name for our universe means, literally, "one-verse", perhaps ours... is but one section... of a larger song... spanning many "universes," which together... form a complete song.
Aboriginal creation myths... tell that the Ancestors... climbed up out of the land... and began to walk around the country. Every time... they spotted a rock, an animal, a stream or a plant, they would call out its name... in the form of a song. In essence, they were singing... these items... into existence... by naming them.
Whatever they saw... and did... was recorded in song, and these songs... were 'stored' in the countryside... over which... they traveled. "Wherever their tracks led," Chatwin writes, "they left a trail... of music."
The Ancestors' songs... lay themselves down... into the ground.. in couplets, with one half... on one side... of the track, and the other half... on the other side. With these couplets... the Ancestor... stored his "life-cells" or "spirit-children," and it was said... that when a pregnant woman... walked over... one of these couplets, it traveled... up into her body... and impregnated... the fetus... with song.
Every aspect... of the Australian land... was charged... with these ancient songs, and the paths... upon which... the Ancients trod... were special track ways. The aborigines... referred to these roads... as "Footprints of the Ancestors" or "Way of the law," but the Europeans... called them "Dreaming tracks" or "Song lines."
The aboriginal conception... of land... is of a free and open place, something which cannot be hemmed in... with fences and titles of ownership. Rather, the country... is an interlocking network... of "ways through." All their words for "country" are the same... as their words for "line."
Traveling of the song lines... was called "Walkabout." The Walkabout... was a very spiritual experience, though the paths... had both psychic and physical purposes... for the aborigines. To them, settling in one place... meant death, and travel was necessary... for survival. The song line was, in a sense, a path... back to the Ancestors... themselves.
Chatwin argues that, since the aborigines... probably migrated... to Australia... from other lands... back when all the continents... were joined, that the idea... of the Song lines... probably extends, into other countries. "I felt the Song lines... were not necessarily an Australian phenomenon, but universal: that they were the means... by which... man.. marked out his territory, and so organized.. his social life." Such tracks... must exist... the world over, he thought... not just in the outback.
The aboriginal elders… of the North Coast Bundjalung tribe… give us the history… of the coming seven tribes… in ancient days… who came... from a destroyed homeland… in the heavens. These people… built a system of pyramids, containing giant crystals…. That encircled the world… to create a nourishing and protective energy field. Bundjalung elders… even refer to a large pyramid… hidden in the rainforest… of northern New South Wales.
