BAND BIO: (scroll to read)
The brainchild of Richard and S. Lee Baysinger, Fateless Tears incorporates elements of progressive, gothic, and symphonic metal into their sound. In August, the tracking for the follow up began. With the continued goal of expanding their sound in mind, the new project will include their first opus. They are hoping for a release in the late spring of 2008.
The Next Chapter: On the Back of Another
As with all things, change happens. After much deliberation, and contemplation Richard and S. Lee have decided that their musical direction would continue to grow and change. As the songs developed, it became evident that Richard would be providing more vocals that ever before as the tunes are taken on a darker heavier vibe and thus limiting the vocal duties of Brad. It also happened at this time that Brad's time and priorities were changing, so it became evident that yet another change in the saga of Fateless Tears would develop. Richard and S. Lee wish Brad the best, and thank him for his help and participation with their passion.
Richard’s Solo album “3 Steps from Crazy†will be released on Halloween, 2007. Also the duo are providing guitar work and vocals on the new Frozen Mist album, “Dark Seasons of Sorrow†and the black Metal Band Pcyst will be recording in Richard and S. Lee’s Studio in the spring, with both providing their skills to this album.
Richard and S. Lee are also in talks with Mournful Moon Productions on signing with them on a full basis, right now they are still signed to Fossil Records and being distributed by MMP, along with Melodic Revolution and AmieStreet. More news to come on these changes in the coming months.
Beginnings:
Richard and S. Lee first collaborated on the Manufactured Dissent tune “Take Over†where S. Lee contributed vocals, that was followed by S. Lee singing vocals on “Liar (You Make Me),†on Richard’s Project release "Images from the Desert." Their next project was on S. Lee’s single “A Father’s Love†which was followed by “China Doll†which was a test song for a male vocalist. This was followed by S. Lee provided lyrics for the song “Where Did You Go,†which was on the album "Stories I've Been Told" by Richard’s duo Sandstone Ridge. Soon after, they worked on “The Journey†with Matt Borowicz, which was the third glimpse into what Fateless Tears would become.
The Next Chapter: In Memory’s Shadow
After moving back to New Mexico, Richard and S. Lee worked with CloMek Productions, scoring and providing soundtrack material for the short film "Last Rung on the Ladder." From the sessions for the soundtrack, the debut disc "In Memory's Shadow" was created. “IMS†included six of the tunes written for “LROTL†including “Eternal Sleeper,†“Half-Life,†and “The Last Desperation†in addition to five new tracks and was originally released independently in limited quantities. Following IMS’s initial release, S. Lee and Richard decided to pursue a heavier, vocal layered direction with their next album "NightBorn." This concept disc required multiple vocal styles. With that in mind, the duo added the vocal talents of Brad Howe.
NightBorn Era
In December 2006, the trio signed with Fossil Records and the decision was made to re-release "In Memory's Shadow" both for greater audience availability and as a way to bring in the New Year with the introduction of Brad to the group. The tune “Scarred†is featured as a bonus track and was written and recorded during the “NightBorn†sessions.
"In Memory's Shadow" was remastered by "Rocket," and released in February 2007 on Fossil Records and made available in iPod/Mp3 Format at AmieStreet.com in April 2007. The iPod/mp3 format single "Purblind Faith" was released exclusively through AmieStreet.com on May 2nd, 2007. "NightBorn" was released via AmieStreet.com in iPod/mp3 format on June 5th, 2007. Fossil Records released the disc on June 23rd, 2007.
