THE JAINS, an extremely passionate, female rock duo based in Milan. The band is composed of Kristen Reichert (guitar and vocals) and Anna Di Pierno (drums). Their first album Kill The Ghost was published in February of 2005. After the release of Kill The Ghost, the band shifted immediately into 5th gear, and embarked on their live national tour where they played over 70 gigs in the most respectable concert halls across Italy. While receiving excellent feedback from audiences they have opened for international rock star SKIN and renown Italian rock bands such as MARLENE KUNTZ and ULAN BATOR. Their first video for STRONGER hit the television screens in November of 2005 and was in constant rotation on MTV Italy, All Music and Rock TV for the following year.Quickly acclaimed in the rock alternative scene, they performed live for the National Independent Record Label convention M.E.I. in November 2005 and received the award for BEST ALBUM COVER. In January 2006 they were special guests on MTV Italy’s Brand New and their video remained on the program’s play list for over 2 months.THE JAINS musical alliance began in 2001, shifting from unique interpretations of cover tunes, into the evolution of their own original music project. Together they discovered a strong artistic and personal harmony while creating songs with a very distinct style. They decided that a two-member band was their ultimate strength, leaving a third component simply out of the equation! Following their natural alternative rock instinct, their collaboration results in music that is powerful in its impact, raw, essential, intense and immediate. Their influences range from P.J. Harvey and Hole to Jeff Buckley and the Pixies.Currently the band has taken a break from their live performances and are working on their second album to be entitled Goddess in you. It’s release is expected sometime in the fall of 2007.Kris, Canadian from Toronto, comes from a family of musicians and has played music from the moment her father gave her the big gift of her own guitar. From then on, the vocals naturally followed. Living in Italy and desiring a career based in music, she found success as a VJ for MTV Europe. Kris has played in many unsatisfactory bands before forming THE JAINS.Anna, Italian from Milano comes from an absolutely non-musical family and was drawn to the drums after having dabbled for years in piano and guitar. Anna has a passion for writing and has always written and arranged most of the music while playing in various bands.
