I am a Hip Hop producer from Leicester, England. My name is Naji, but mostly everybody calls me Wavey. I run a production company called Itwemek, (which means 'we make it'), symbolising that we, you and me, from individual to collective, can make things happen. Think about it, just imagine all the people in chain that was involved in music you may be making or may listen to, the people that made the instruments, the people that played them, the people that recorded the songs you might be sampling, and so on. Thats a whole heap of people! Itwemek was set up by Abdul Rasheed, and myself in the early 90's. The carpetyard is the name of my studio. I also work as a music technology tutor, tutoring young people around Leicester and the UK. Married to the beautiful Sumayah who has made me the proud father of 10! nine boys and 1 girl. They keep me propa busy as you can imagine... ma'sha'Allah! I'm on a mission to travel this planet, learning as I go, the mysteries of Allah's creation. A great way to do that, for me, is via music! Learning is one thing that never ends in this life, and death is the only guaranteed event, so prepare yourself....you only know you've been asleep once you've woken up.. I'm not trying to be the best MC or any of that, I just want to talk about things that are important to me, things that matter, f*** all that 'bling and bitches' bulls***. My true love is making beats. I've been on it since I was 12 years old and still love it as much today as I did back then. I just want to make beats for the world to hear, for people who feel my style, and feel where I'm coming from...simple tings...I'm not on no foolishness, I don't make 'get ya tits out baby' music, I aint on no badman gangsta vibes, I aint on no blingy bulls***, I don't make poison music, I'm not into mass appeal, I just want to make music that people feel, music that people listen to and not just hear, dance to it if you want, it's all good, but that's not the focus, I want to link like minded people that recognise that music is so much more than just entertainment, it's for upliftment, inspiration, education, and enjoyment, physical and spiritual.check out www.itwemek.com coming soon!...
