Girl With Cake started off as a bunch of lovely girls who loved nothing better than to sit down with a nice slice of cake and play HEAVY (and sometimes pretty friendly) DEADLY MUSIC. Their style is best described as indie-rock with a punk edge.
They originate from the sunny, stinky shores of beautiful, shining Briz-vegas and have been playing together for two years.
4 Triple z fm helped them to make a recording through the Live To Air program which they released locally in 2005 as "Pony Club". At this stage they were called The Nancies but tragically there was someone else with the same name so the girls changed their name to Girl With Cake... due to their feverish love for cake. This CD called "Pony Club" is available at Rockinghorse Records and Skinny's in the Brisbane CBD.
Girl With Cake's most recent release is their new EP "Stick To Your Guns" featuring five tracks. It was recorded and mixed by Bruce Fogerty at Worx Studios in West End, Brisbane, Australia. This EP is available for purchase in the Brisbane CBD at Skinny's and Rockinghorse Records.
The First Cut was recorded by Bryce Moorhead at Zero Interference Studios Brisbane, Queensland. The First Cut was recorded in 2005 in short live sessions.
The Bleeding Edge has released a podcast featuring our track "Dead Girl". Episode 10 has also been released which features 2 of our tracks as part of a very awesome encore special.
