Played bass guitar in local Hoboken group The Cyclones featuring Donna Esposito(now in Mas Rapido) from 1979-1984. Also played in NY area group Mad Violets featuring Wendy Wild and Dino Sorbello(now in Tripwave), as well as New Jersey group The Vines(no,not that Australian band,We recorded at Mitch Easter's Drive-In Studios while those guys were probably still in diapers)
I dig the cool jams,KC and the Sunshine Band,Bee Gees stuff like that.Yeah, right!
OK.Let's get real.
My musical tastes are varied BUT - We'll start from the beginning,My first three albums were Jim Croce's greatest hits, Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and Led Zeppelin's Presence.I liked the first two plenty, but Led Zeppelin hit me the deepest. Then of course it was stuff like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath.NOW we're talkin'!!! When I was 18 I answered an ad in the Village Voice for a band called the Cyclones. After joining the band,singer/songwriter/guitarist Donna Esposito, and drummer Dan Reich turned me on to a host of talent I was unaware of, but I became crazy for the music.including the Dbs, The Bongos,Mitch Easter and Let's Active(before I joined he was part-time bassist for the group) The Fleshtones, The Dictators and so many more it would fill this page. For that I am eternally grateful.I was also blessed to perform with legendary Lower East Side performer Wendy Wild, and the Mad Violets. Her and partner Dino Sorbello introduced me to a wide range of psychedelic and fuzz based sounds.
Now it's my son who controls my influences.I knew Green Day but, he now drags me out to the festivals liked Warped Tour, Bamboozle and others where I have experienced so many new and great sounds. Bottom line.if it's got the beat, and a cool melody - I can dig it. Try the BEST MySpace Editor and MySpace Backgrounds at MySpace Toolbox !
