Tony Pucci and Noel Christian Riddell are The Foglifters. Their original plans to meet and record were derailed by the September 11 attacks (Noel had a flight scheduled for the 13th). The session was postponed until January, when Noel packed his guitars and DROVE 700 miles to Minnesota.Longtime online acquaintances, Tony and Noel had never met face-to-face until that day; But within a half hour of arrival/unpacking, they were recording the first song ('Traveling East') at Tony's home studio.Noel had brought a few scraps of songs with him and Tony had a few ideas in mind, but mostly the album was conceived, written, and recorded completely in the moment -between January 3rd and 6th.Tony used a sea of Fenders and Danelectros for many of his tracks and it is HIS voice which you hear.
Noel used various Rickenbackers and Danelectros for his parts.
No keyboards were used -if you hear something, it's a guitar or bass.The recording of The Foglifters second offering 'The Silk Road' began two years ago over long-distance. Close to half an album has been laid down, but the pair prefer the chemistry of real life, coffee-soaked songwriting/recording so it has been shelved longer than it should. Both are hopeful it will emerge sometime.
