"The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms." -Samuel Adams
"The superior man, when resting in safety, does not forget that danger may come. When in a state of security he does not forget the possibility of ruin. When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come." - Confucius (551 BC - 479 BC)
"That rifle on the wall of the labourer's cottage or working class flat is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there." - George Orwell
"None who have always been free can understand the terrible fascinating power of the hope of freedom to those who are not free." -Pearl S. Buck
"The two enemies of The People are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." - Thomas Jefferson
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." -- George Washington, speech of Jan. 7, 1790
"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have. The course of history shows that as a government grows, LIBERTY DECREASES." - Thomas Jefferson
"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever - in religion, in philosophy, in politics or in anything else - where I was capable of thinking for myself. If I could not go to Heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." -Thomas Jefferson
"So long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men." -Voltaire
"The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. Whenever evil wins, it is only...by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles." -Ayn Rand
"We are an impossibility in an impossible universe." -Ray Bradbury
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science." -ALbert Einstein
"At least once every human should have to run for his life - to teach him that milk does not come from supermarkets, that safety does not come from policemen, that "news" is not something that happens to other people." -Robert A. Heinlein
"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms." (Federalist Paper ..46) -James Madison
