My name is Action Girl, and I'm a hot rod gal, occasional pin-up model, scooterist, photographer, artist, and quite possibly one of the most fun people you'll ever meet. My sidekick and partner in crime, Charity Von Suite, make it our personal business to make you look devastatingly HOT.
For as long as I can remember I've been fascinated with all things retro, especially pinups dating from the war years through the early sixties. I live and breathe pin-up!
I hope my photographs pay homage to those fabulous pin-ups and the incredible artists and photographers that captured the honest beauty of the female form way back when. I hope that our culture can re-discover that sexy can mean many things, and that classy dames who've mastered the art of the tease are what really define it.
I think there's few things a gal can do for her self-esteem that are more important that spending an afternoon looking beautiful and glamorous (with our help, of course!)I dare you to come here and tell us you didn't have a blast!
I shoot ALL KINDS of girls and ALL SHAPES and sizes, so don't be afraid of getting in front of my camera if you're a little curvy... in fact, for the eras i'm shooting, "skinny" wasn't really in fashion. The most important thing is that you come ready to work and feeling great about yourself... if you do, you'll shine in your pictures. I do not shoot ANYONE under the age of 18, and I do check ID when I'm not sure.
One final note- I occasionally use vintage furs in my shots not only because they are period-correct, but also because I have quite a few of them in my personal collection. I'm not a fan of the process behind making a fur coat, but I refuse to feel guilty about using furs made from animals that died before I was even born. The real tragedy in my opinion would be throwing them away, so instead I take care of them and use them. If this is a huge issue for you, wearing them in my shoots is always optional. Girls who have no issues with vintage furs are welcome to use my collection.

I do not pay models, and do VERY LIMITED TFCD. TFCD is generally reserved for models I choose, close friends, etc. Everyone else pays my rates below, which are BEYOND reasonable for photos, hair, makeup, props and wardrobe. Holiday Shoots-These are themed group shoots throughout the year.
Total cost is $100 bucks. I provide hair, make-up and costumes for these shoots and you'll have 3-4 finished shots when I'm done editing. I announce these in blogs and on bulletins.
Atomic Cheesecake Package Shoots-always available in whatever themes or styles you like.

Deluxe Package- three looks- $200 (9 professionally retouched "final" photos)
All packages include vintage hair style, make-up, posing assistance/direction, props and accessories. You bring stockings, NUDE bikini or thong underwear, appropriate footwear (absolutely NO HOOKER SHOES- Check out my shoe blog for photos and ideas. and false eyelashes (big fluffy ones). I have a substantial wardrobe, and can cover sizes from dressmaker's sizes 0-18 with stuff on hand. If you are larger than 48-38-48, you'll need to bring your own wardrobe. I can recommend shops and websites to check out if you need assistance in this area. If you have something very specific in mind (like sailor outfit) please verify that I have it in your size before assuming I do. Of course if you want something specific and I don't have it it, you'll have to bring it at your expense.
You get the final photos in both hi-res and web versions, on a CD Rom of everything else I took that's usable. (I don't send anything blurry, eyes closed, etc.) If you want prints, you can take the CD to your place of choice and have them made. I even provide appropriate ..ation for you to do this.
I have pets, 2 pugs and 2 cats that share my home, and my life. If you have allergies, please keep this in mind. My dogs are never in the studio, but my cats wander through pretty regularly.
I retain the copyrights to all of my work, regardless of whether you pay for your shoot or not. I grant my clients permission to post watermarked photos on the internet, to make prints of their photos for personal use, and to use my images to enter pin-up contests and such. I do not grant permission for you or anyone else to Photoshop my images, or to use them without crediting me. All models that wish to have their photos used for promotional purposes (in my portfolio, displayed on my site), displayed publicly (like in a gallery show), submitted to magazines, etc. MUST sign my model release. The model release says that you consented to me taking these photos and that you won't sue me because they exist at some later date. Seems silly, but it's necessary. I want to be in business in the long term.
I require a 50% deposit and a completed booking sheet to secure a shooting date. My deposit is not refundable, but it can be applied to a future session if something comes up. If you're sending a check I will hold your date for 3 days while payment is mailed. Paypal payments are the quickest and most reliable way to secure your date. If you are interested in booking, you must contact me first so I can verify the availability of your date, and send out the pre-shoot booking information sheet. This form must be filled out completely and sent back with your payment- no exceptions.
Notes for Models-
I want your photos to be PERFECT, but I need your help in making them that way. Here's what I expect from you the day of your shoot.
Shaving, waxing, plucking- come to my shoot like you'd go on your honeymoon weekend. Clean, fresh and ready for your close up! Pluck those brows, shave those legs, etc. Arrive clean-faced and moisturized. Paint your fingers and toes in a nice era-appropriate color like classic red or soft pink (no black, green, blue, etc please). These details may seem trivial, but anything that shows in the pics that shouldn't be there is more work for me after the fact. (i.e. retouching)
Come ready to work and ARRIVE ON TIME!- If you aren't feeling well, had a bad night of drinking, etc.. It will show in your photos. I'd rather postpone your shoot than get a bad result. Your deposit can be applied to another date.
Take out your jewelry, especially things that look modern like nose rings. I'm only flexible on this if it's a new piercing that can't be removed, and then I will Photoshop it out.
Practice!- If you ask any good pin-up how she does those awesome expressions on demand, she'll tell you she spent hours in front of the mirror working on those looks! Take some time to figure out your best expressions and practice them so you can do them without thinking about it. If you aren't sure what those looks are, get your hands on a book on pin-up art and try some out. (I can recommend titles)
If you have ideas about background colors, scenes, props, etc. Let's talk about them before the shoot so I can accommodate you as much as possible.
