Jerome Alone
OK, the songs on this profile and the album they're from is actually my own solo recording (Jerome Alone) for which I put a backing band together (bassist and drummer), named after the album (Hexensohn). I am a singer, songwriter, guitarist (acoustic, electric, lead, rhythm, bass), drummer (although I didn't get to play live drums on the album due to lack of equipment), sound engineer, graphic artist,.... I've started to dabble in keyboards and recently bought a violin.
I play guitar and sing back-ups in 'Blue V' (we have an artist profile here set up by a mate (Skinny), I have been guitarist in many New Plymouth, NZ bands, including 'Hideously Disfigured', 'Wolfsbalde' and briefly in 'Awesome', among several covers bands (pay the bills), drummer in 'Wolfsblade', 'G.F.N.R.', 'Blue V' and 'T.T. Ryder' and have played many fill-in spots for local bands when members have been absent, on guitar, drums and bass. I am now also in a new band called Smokin' Bones.
I finished the album and put the first line-up of the band together, with my Dad Phil Parli on Bass and Marc Devine on drums. After a couple of practices, I was phoned and asked to fill in (They asked for Blue V but we're on a break) for cancelled acts at World Battle of the Bands. We won the first heat, then weren't watching the clock at the second heat, so playing last and the crowd wanting more, we played overtime and missed out going through to national finals.
So after a few months of focusing on Smokin' Bones and a reassessment of the ideal Hexensohn line-up, I think I've found it. So I shall keep you all posted as this develops. For now suffice to say Marc Devine has for yet another band been shifted from drums to bass guitar, we have James Fuller on drums and my brother Nicholas Parli is going to lighten my load and make my job easier by being another guitarist in the band. I'll adjust the members section here as they quote their own influences and history.
So once we have the existing Hexensohn set down, we'll be onto creating as a band. I can't wait!
