WAM runs two major events each year – The WAMi Festival, Australia’s largest celebration of local original contemporary music, and the WAM Song of the Year, a statewide search for WA’s best songwriting talent. A massive CD-DVD compilation is produced annually to complement the WAMi Festival.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

WAM, the West Australian Music Industry Association Inc, exists to develop the contemporary music industry in WA. WAM is a not-for-profit membership based association and its activities encompass: advocacy for industry interests; information and referral services; dedicated programs and project officers for Indigenous and Regional WA industry support; the WAMi Festival, Kiss My WAMi compilation CD-DVD and the WAM Song of the Year; a school program to develop audiences and enhance music education; an events grants and training program for young people; and showcasing and promotion for international market development. WAM is the peak representative body for contemporary music of all styles in WA.

The 38th edition of the AustralAsian Music Industry Directory is for sale at WAM. The 208 page directory from IMMEDIA! is considered an industry bible and is available from the WAM office for $50 or $45 for WAM members. If you'd like a copy mailed out send a cheque made out to the West Australian Music Industry Association for $58 (or $53 if you're a member) WAM, PO Box 171, Northbridge 6865 and don't forget to enclose your mailing details.
