About Me

Seeking urban living with a hip new twist? We're sophisticated yet earthy. Cultured yet playful. Smart and good looking. We're VURB Magazine and we're the voice of urban living in Las Vegas & the southwest.
Why VURB? The southwestern United States -- long the bastion of wide open space and individual freedom -- is evolving as the home of modern city living. Vibrant sunbelt metropolises like Las Vegas, San Diego and Phoenix are embracing an urban lifestyle that combines the old-school livability of the pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods of the East Coast with a 21st Century attitude.
Sure, that means lofts and tower living. But it also means midrise multi-use complexes that redefine the meaning of "neighborhood," as well as existing urban enclaves that have survived the firestorm of western development to become thriving oases of city living.
VURB Magazine represents this modern lifestyle with meaningful coverage, thoughtful writing and a design aesthetic that lends a sense of place to what is the New West.
The Shag-adelic Summer 2007 issue is now in your hands. Meanwhile, we feverishly work on the Sep/Oct issue, fueled by our favorite summer drink, the Michelada! If you simply cannot wait for the VURB truck to find its way to your 'burb, stop by the Arts Factory and grab your issue from us directly. And keep your ears to the ground for upcoming info on another fabulous VURBanite event coming soon. Urban living has never been this good.
Vurb Magazine is the publishing vision of editor Phil Hagen ([email protected]), publisher Amy Schmidt (amy@...) and associate publisher James P. Reza (james@...). The name & logo of Vurb and "City Living in the New West" are trademarks of Urban Village Publishing LLC.
