.. .For A Good Cause..
Born in Hammersmith, London England (A ghetto, I'm told) I was quickly swept back to the US in my first year. Raised in Ann Arbor Michigan, it wasn't until relocating to New Jersey that I first stumbled onto Electronic music. My first exposure came, like many via college radio(g-d bless open format).Specifically it was Seaton Hall's 'Pirate Radio' and an Industrial show that first turned me on to electronic music. While most was obscure electronic meal from bands Funker Voight, KMFDM, Front Line Assembly, etc.. occasionally I heard tracks played by this group called 'Underworld'. To this day they blow my mind.
After awhile I found another great radio program called 'Solid State' put on by Liquid Todd out of New York City. As I was in highschool at this point.. staying home every Saturday night to flip static-filled tapes for 4 hours was not a hassle. It was here that I really found my eclectic ears & database of original knowledge as Todd dropped everything from the Jungle Brothers to Midfield General, to The Sneaker Pimps to Elysium. He gave me artists & track names every chance he got.
I began to learn format & even got to sneak into the city a couple of times w/ my first raver girlfriend. The urban culture & diverse music for sale in small boutiques was unlike anything I'd experienced and began perhaps a few other continued interests that don't necessarily apply to this profile. More soon.. piecing it all together
