"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more commonplace than unsuccessful men/women with talent. Genius will not; unprepared genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistance and determination alone are omnipotent." -Calvin Coolidge
NN skeletons! NN
taking digital photos (nothing beats immediate gratification) - yet when the moment hits me, i have a darkroom in my garage so i can escape for hours on end "creating"
keeping in touch with my friends via every other way - besides the phone which i feel is invasive (yet, i have at least one in every room of my house - so i can see who i'm ignoring; sorry but it's 100% true)
listening to music
watching dvd's & buying enough to have my own video store
going to the movie theatre (but i loathe people who TALK during movies - so this is something i'm rapidly doing less of)
eating out at whatever place is my latest addiction (right now i cannot get enough of Macaroni Grill & could seriously go every single day with or without a friend to join me - the create your own pasta ROCKS!)
driving alone with the top down, at insanely fast speeds (but this is somehow justified because i have a license in precision driving) & stereo cranked - playing music people never expect to hear
being entertained by my zoo of animals that make my life worth living; and "if i die before i wake" - they will all be taken care of better than most people's children
attempting home repairs; which i'm acually pretty decent at
people watching (goes back to being a private investigator)
bookstores - where i can never leave without buying a ton of books
doing volunteer work (and unlike people who do it once a year - i.e. Thanksgiving)
reading several books at once, since finishing them seems to be a problem for me
drinking very fine red wines (cabernet sauvignon, bertani amarone)
Dove dark chocolates, peanut m&ms & frozen snickers.
my laptop & a super fast internet connection
sunday farmer's market trips for organic veggies with my neighbor dave
amusing myself with astrology & the 7-11 Starscrolls
lazy weekends in the most confortable bed in the world & chillow pillows (these are amazing because you don't have to keep flipping your pillow over to get the cold side)
text messaging and being anti-social in social settings by using my cell phone to connect to the world.

not looking.......
"When the time comes, and you are able to, pay it forward." - I thank my "big brother," Louis, every day for showing me that true kindness and humanity exists, when you "Pay it Forward." All it takes is the action of one to create a ripple effect that will touch more lives than you ever conceived possible!
...NOT looking....and if you ask me out, you are only proving that you do not care enough to read my profile and i will DELETE you IMMEDIATELY.

As a heads up, I am NOT:
1. Your "Mami" - in fact this is a cultural thing I find very difficult to understand. My "native language" and ONLY language that I speak is English. So speaking to me in Spanish, because I look like that ethnic mix, is a total waste of time. Additionally, any nicknames referencing my family...is just plain gross. Afterall, the LAST PEOPLE i want to imagine during any "romantic situations" are my parents. Thus, please stop with the "Mami" terms of endearment, it makes my stomach want to hurl.
2. Call me an intellectual snob if you wish, because along with number 1; I will NEVER "hit you back," "holla back," "whut it do"....etc.
I do not understand why our culture (as in America) finds it acceptable and somehow excusable to speak like a moron. Education is FREE and I for one made full use of this opportunity by attending public schools. Thus, if you really would like me to communicate back, please respect my intelligence enough to show that in your comments.

My musical taste is pretty random. I like a lot of things, with the exception of Country.
Sorry if I offend anyone, but I just have low tolerance for it. However, as karma would have it, two very good friend's of mine sing country music! I think that fact alone is pretty damn funny and shows the lengths I'd go for my friends Tonya Watts & Bobby!!

So many topics interest me, and I can never leave a bookstore without buying armfuls of books!
My future partner in crime; the man or woman who will love me without trying to change me.
My animals who give me more unconditional love & happiness than I deserve.
People who do volunteer work to make the lives of others better (i.e., Oprah, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer).
