I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Welcome to my humble MySpace page! I work on a 56K dial-up, so you won't see a lot of bells or whistles here.

I'm experimenting with privacy settings to block a recent surge in spam friend requests. I figure if you can't guess my last name, you're either a spambot, or else you really shouldn't be allowed on a computer.
Anyway, I'm a fantasy author with DAW Books. My humorous fantasy novel Goblin Quest was published in November of 2006, followed by, Goblin Hero , in 2007. The third book in the trilogy, Goblin War , just came out in March of this year.
My second series is ... hard to describe. Imagine fairy tale princesses crossed with Charlie's Angels, and you'll start to get an idea. The first book, The Stepsister Scheme should be out in January of 2009, and will be followed by The Mermaid's Madness and Red Hood's Revenge.
I also edited an anthology for DAW, Heroes in Training . One of the stories (The Children's Crusade, by Robin Bailey) is currently on the final Nebula ballot.

My Interests

Fantasy, writing, editing, science fiction, publishing, books.

I'd like to meet:

I'm always interested in meeting new readers. I'd also love to connect with folks in the publishing industry -- writers, editors, agents, and so on. And I've found a few old friends I'd lost touch with, which is always nice.

Television:

I've got two young children, which means these days I tend to wander around the house humming the theme to Johnny and the Sprites or Blue's Clues. Though at least they give me an excuse to watch Kim Possible.

Books:

Lately, I've been reading books by Julie Czerneda, Joshua Palmatier, Simon Haynes, Lois McMaster Bujold, and Jenn Reese. I've also got a huge "To Be Read" stack sitting by the bed. This doesn't include various research reading I'll be doing for the next book I plan to write.I've started posting reviews of the books I read over at LiveJournal, under the review tag .
