About Me

Most people who hear Octane's warm, smooth vocal style would assume that the first song he wrote at age 13 would be an R&B ballad. "I actually wrote a hip-hop joint in eight grade about life as a teenager. I didn't write my first R&B ballad until I was around 18, but I'd been singing on stage since I was in middle school."
The self taught musician spent much of his teenage years on stage performing in musicals, plays, talent competitions, and even got a standing ovation at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem. "Everything that I've ever been taught musically was in high school, everything else I learned myself by trial and error. My parents couldn't afford voice lessons for me, so I would just sing along with the radio until every song was in sync note for note. I guess you could say that I had the best vocal coaches in the world - Boyz II Men, New Edition, Shai, ect."
Growing up in the Southern New Jersey city of Vineland, money was always tight for the young performer. Always known for his creative ingenuity, Octane found financial stability through his other passion, DJing. He started making home made mix-tapes and selling them in school and on the streets.
It was DJing that brought him to New York City. "I moved to the city to persue my singing and songwriting prospects, but, it's easy to get comfortable just enjoying life in New York working as a DJ, it's an unbelievable career choice."
Octane spent most of his time in New York working as a DJ, but always spent his free time writing music, growing as a musician as well as a young man, and building up his catalog which boast over 100 original songs. "I have my first 10 albums all planned out as far as which song are going with which project. I'm confident with so much material that I won't be one of those here today, gone tomorrow arist, and I think that every song I write is better than the last."
After working with and producing artists and bands for years, Octane is finally recording his own first solo effort. We'll expect to see many great things from this artist in the near future.
