My Interests

please excuse my English:-( it..s difficult for me, to write in English, because I try to write in the same manner, I do in German and I know, that I make a lot of mistakes, but I..m still learning. Please, feel free to correct me - I want to do it better ;)

Music:

Notes for the soul, words for listening...

Heroes:

my Dad, my granny and grandpa - I miss them Freddy Mercury, Bono, Nelson Mandela, Dalai Lama, The Native Americans, People who risk their lives for others, People, who stand up for justice, peace, and human rights - People, who try to make the world a better place - anybody can do that...in some way or other ;-)Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events.
Sir Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965)_____________________________________________________Do n't be a "Hater" ______ Your alarm goes off, you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes. He stays up for days on end.
________________________________________ You take a warm shower to help you wake up. He goes days or weeks without running water. ________________________________________ You complain of a "headache", and call in sick. He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward. ________________________________________ You put on your 'Anti war/Don't support the troops' shirt, and go meet up with your friends. He still fights for your right to wear that shirt. ________________________________________ You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket. He clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags. ________________________________________ You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you. He knows he may not see some of his buddies again. ________________________________________ You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls. He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.
________________________________________ You complain about how hot it is. He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.
________________________________________ You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong. He doesn't get to eat today.
________________________________________ Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes. He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.
________________________________________ You go to the mall and get your hair redone. He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today. ________________________________________ You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.. He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months. ________________________________________ You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight. He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home. ________________________________________ You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday. He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume. ________________________________________ You roll your eyes as a baby cries. He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.
________________________________________ You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything. He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.
________________________________________ You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him. He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded. ________________________________________ You see only what the media wants you to see. He sees the broken bodies lying around him. ________________________________________ You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't. He does exactly what he is told.
________________________________________ You stay at home and watch TV. He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.
________________________________________ You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable. He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be woken by gunfire.
________________________________________ You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him. If only there were more men like him...Whatever your politics are - I hope you can "make this difference"... Show them the RESPECT they deserve!____________________________________________________ __Anyone who has ever looked into the glazed eyes of a soldier dying on the battlefield will think hard before starting a war.

Then there was India-Pakistan, Cambodia, Guatemala, Iraq, Bosnia, Rwanda, Gujarat-India, South Sudan...
Now Darfur - 400.000 killed, 2.5 million displaced...Have you forgotten??? Then remember...
NEVER AGAIN - MEANS NEVER AGAIN!How can a citizen of a free country not pay attention?
How can anyone, anywhere not feel outraged?
How can a person, wheather religious or secular, not be moved by compassion?
And above all, how can anyone who remembers remain silent???
Elie WieselGenocide is the worst crime at all...
Survivors of genocide, from the Nazi Holocaust, Cambodia, Bosnia to Rwanda, called on October 20, 2006 for European Union sanctions to stop the Darfur conflict, saying so far the EU has done almost nothing to stop mass killing in western Sudan.
A Holocaust survivor told that he did not survive a Nazi concentration camp to sit back while genocide is repeated.
He was one of 120 people to sign an open letter to EU leaders meeting in the Finnish town of Lahti, urging EU sanctions on the Sudanese government.
The letter called on the EU to implement a UN-authorised no-fly zone over Darfur and to apply concerted pressure on Sudan to stop killing civilians and accept a UN force.
It also called for targeted sanctions in the form of asset freezes and travel bans on those responsible for rights abuses and for Brussels to set a date for EU-wide trade sanctions if the Sudanese did not respond to the pressure... ...more infos here DarfurDarfur 2 It is time to stop this... stand up and raise your voice for all those, who have none!______________________________________________________FRIENDS A true friend is one who walks in, when the rest of the world walks out...______________________________________________________ _ Never take someone for granted.
