Portland-Northwest Music Scene

Calling All Fans!!!

About Me

The Portland-Northwest Music Scene is designed for west coast music talent and the fans to come together. I was born and raised in Portland. My parents own and operate a bar in Portland that plays a small role in the local music scene here. I was raised in that establishment. I am fortunate enough to have a brother and friends who have been heavily involved in the local music scene. This upbringing had a tremendous impact on me.
I think that we are very lucky to live amongst such great talent in this area. And I know first hand the camaraderie amongst musicians. I also know of the special bond between musicians and their fans.
I want to make this site available as a place for the musicians and their fans to connect. I want fans to be able to find other local artists that will be new to them, thus expanding the fan base for growing artists.
For now, please feel free to use this space for the following…
1. Use and abuse the comment section to post announcements, gigs, news, or whatever you need to announce.
2. I have been a fan of music for a long time and will promote almost anything local, even if doesn’t fit my specific tastes.
3. If you are a promoter, please post here to attract bands.
All I ask of you in return is to make sure your fans know about this space, and be sure to let your fellow artists know about it as well if they are not already here. I’m not sure where this space could lead to if it grows, but who knows. As long as the music is spreading and the fans are growing, I’ll be satisfied.

My Interests

The Portland-Northwest Music Scene

I'd like to meet:

This space is not genre specific. It doesn’t matter if you’re a two piece death metal outfit, or a 15 piece Carpenters Tribute Band. Range wise, I would hope to draw artists and fans from as far north as Vancouver, Washington and as far south as Eugene, and from the northern coastal towns to the high desert plains of Bend.
Other groups that should be interested in this space include, but are not limited to…
Record shops, record labels, recording studios, radio stations, podcast groups, concert promotion companies, management groups, festival/concert organizers, music shops, bars/clubs/venues, and other like spaces.

CD Review: The Galaxy Machine - Ancient Future

Was it in a dark nightclub packed with sweaty bodies dancing the night away?  Was it on a retro 80's compilation CD?  Was it the 90's?  Was it now?  Was it blaring at a party last ...
