i am a self-confessed scouse-aholic and media junkie and i need help with the latter cos its stopping me enjoying the former. not remotely sporty these days, although i did a lot of swimming as a youngster.
whoever is reading this (male or female) and feels an affinity with me is welcome to say hello. actually, i wouldn't mind meeting ricky gervais, sean hughes, or adam'n'joe off xfm.
most of my favourite bands hail from liverpool (past and present) THE BEATLES, the la's, shack, THE CORAL, the bandits, the zutons etc, but my alltime favourites include adam and the ants,(nz band)the mockers, the trashcan sinatras, oasis, but definitely not blur. currently i am into the arctic monkeys and keane, but i cant stand coldplay, snowpatrol, rhcp, and duran duran... width="425" height="350" ..
i don't usually like blockbusters, however i made an exception for pirates of the caribbean and i also enjoyed catch me if you can. i like new zealand things like once were warriors and whalerider, britflicks in general: anything from rob roy to butterfly kiss, titus to sweet sixteen. i am so not into sci-fi: i have never seen a single star wars/star trek/lord of the rings movie and i don't intend to (sorry orlando!) i enjoyed, or should i say endured monster. i like old movies too, like the wicked lady, and the original oliver twist. the movie that probably sums up my childhood is "whatever happened to baby jane" with my mother in the bette davis role. best movie this year: brokeback mountain.
all the news programmes, coronation street, harry hill's tv burp, some reality tv shows (big brother) paul o'grady, russell brand, music channels, the odd costume drama eg: casanova, biography/history channels, football if it involves either liverpool or watford. also enjoyed bro' town (nz animated adult comedy) "can you handle the jandal!" current obsession: fbi files/forensic detectives/sensing murder (the latter one is a kiwi programme where they ask psychics to investigate unsolved cases from the past!)i recently enjoyed the beau brummell biography (this charming man.) i thought mr rhys mayers playing lord byron stole the show.
i was such a bookworm when i was a kid. i don't read as many books now, but i like biographies. last book i bought was smash hits 80's yearbook and before that the adam ant autobiography which i highly recommend.. i am more into music magazines and current events than novels at present. however charles dickens is probably my favourite writer of all time.
i admire anyone who has found their true vocation in life and is able to get paid for doing what they love, especially when it brings pleasure to others and yet it is at no expense to any moral code of ethics; also anyone who manages find true love in their lifetime and cherish it forever.
