After being watched at their first gig, The Hoboes were signed up by Liverpool-based Viper Records to release two singles, Between Catharine and Hope and Change Your Tune. Both received excellent reviews and were broadcast on national and local radio, throughout Europe and across the Atlantic in the USA.
Past performances at In the City, The Mathew Street Festival and most recently Liverpool Music Week, were widely considered as highlights of the events and in 2007 they began running Olde Time Religion, their own monthly music night at The Zanzibar Club in Liverpool. It has quickly gained a reputation as one of the city’s most popular music nights; attracting a very strong local following as well as attention from the national and local press (The Guardian, The Metro and The Liverpool Echo).
They are now receiving numerous plays on many national and local radio shows, including Mark Lamarr (Radio 2), The Pool with Dave Monks (BBC Merseyside) and Tom Robinson (6 Music).
This year has already been a very busy one for The Hoboes, and on the back of a brilliantly received UK tour in May, they are due to release their third single, due out this summer.
PRESS QUOTES
"There is a naggingly addictive quality to this music and an overall brilliance that can’t be ignored"
BBC Online Collective
"The songs are short, snappy, innovative and brighten up the room, if people came to Manchester looking for a great band and left before these guys had the chance to play, then they left too early"
Manchester Evening News
"Typically irrepressible, nonchalent Scouse-pop sorcery...Bloody good, in simple terms"

"Bursting with vigour and melodious guitar lines to sing to"
