Marcie Schreier, an accomplished and versatile singer and flautist, has been living in Israel since 1980. Born and raised in the US, Marcie studied classical flute in college (back in the USA) and has had several years of training as a vocalist (here in Israel). She has sung in several choirs in Israel and performed as a soloist with an Operatic Society during a brief relocation to the UK.
Having grown up on rock music, she later became enamored with music from the 16th-17th centuries. As a vocalist, Marcie has studied and worked with distinguished musicians in the area of Early Music, in addition to performing her own program of Renaissance and Baroque songs from Spain with accompanist/guitarist Philip Griffin. Marcie has appeared on TV, radio, at Jacob’s Ladder Folk Festival and at several folk and night clubs here in Israel, playing rock and folk music.
The clips will be changed from time to time to showcase the various styles of music in which she sings.
Marcie sometimes performs with the band "Celtic Synergy", featuring Shay Tochner (guitars, harmonica and vocals), Elisha Avshalom (whistles, flutes), and Ofer Groman (bodhran, whistles and vocals).
