About Me

My prefrences in music and playing styles have always leaned towards the earlier versions found in the genre. When I listen to punk, I like old punk. Reggae = roots, blues was born in the delta, etc. I'm also a huge fan of slide style playing both lapstyle and bottleneck. Now that I'm building insturments, it's only logical that I take that same roots-based approach
I build and play simple 3 string guitars from cigar boxes. They are generally fretless altough some of them have fret markings and all are played with a slide. You can do some fingering on the lower frets, but they have a different tone than a traditional fretted insturments. I use a full "fender" 25.5" scale and tune to an open chord. AEA, DAD, EBE are a few of my favorite tunings.

Why 3 strings?

I can have and will make 4 string versions, but I prefer 3, Why? With three strings the neck is uncluttered and there is enough space to be a little sloppy with the slide. Lot's of tunings work ...
