The survival of hemlock trees is being threatened by the woolly adelgid, an aphid like insectintroduced from Asia and now spreading through the north Georgia forests. Our efforts the last two years contributedsignificantly to the establishment of a beetle (which prey on the woolly adelgids) rearing labat the University of Georgia. We hope to expand our support this year to the Young HarrisCollege beetle rearing lab as well as the one now be established at North Georgia College andState University.
FireDance as well as Music from such genres as singer songwriter, folk, blue/newgrass, blues, classic oldies, Celtic rock, and jam band will be performed. Experts on the hemlock issue willbe speaking on the subject and available to answer questions.
