About Me

Ask me for more specifics if you really want to get to know me. I love making new friends!
Does anyone ever read this crap anyway? ... Ummm...about me, you say? Okay... I seek security and stability, with a little bit of fun and adventure mixed in. I remain positive and optomisitic in outlook, but I have a dark sense of humor. And then there are the times that I think I am being funny, when nobody else gets it. Sometimes I can be a bit cynical, but I usually get over myself, given a little time. I remain open to any possibility in life as I believe nothing is ever 100% certain. But I also believe everything happens for a reason. My entire life I have felt different from my peers; as it turns out, people usually find me to be unusual, but in a good way. Sometimes I have a potty-mouth, but that's only because I believe that words only have as much meaning as you give them, and I'd rather invest my energy in finding meaning somewhere else instead. I am intelligent and well-read, but I like to have fun with the best of them. I believe in moderation, and in living a well-balanced life. I am highly emotional but I enjoy the logical side of things; I enjoy playing devils advocate with myself and looking at both sides of any issue. I collect random facts, but obsess over concepts...valuable brain space is being taken up by how big a sperm whale's penis is. Which my 10th grade science teacher taught us, the sicko. I think that a very good quality in a person to have would be strong ideas about what you want, and how to get it in life. Knowing who you are is key. I believe you really can't be good with anyone else until you get good with yourself. I think that life is all about learning and growing as much as possible, so I view every bump in the road as a chance to not make the same mistake again. The past doesn't matter now - only what is important today matters. And what is important today, and every day, is how I percieve my experience of living life, and what I choose to gain and learn from it. "Get busy living or get busy dying"; it's all in your perpective and frame of reference. Life is about choices. Whether you choose to feel every day a tinge of regret for that one day, or if you choose to make every day more meaningful to the people around you because of that one event in time. I believe that we get back what we give. This also includes the giving of yourself. The more *you* you give away, the more of *someone else* you get.
This is just a smattering of random thoughts and feelings I have...there's more to me than this...just ask. And when you do, let me know if anyone ever reads this crap, will you? :)

A few random facts about me:

I am socially inept but sometimes I do a good job pretending that I'm not. I usually have a severe case of insert-foot-into-mouth disease. I hate people whose sole exsistance is to perpetuate stereotypes.

The world, and humanity is in general a disgusting farce. At first it might not seem like things make any sense, but the more you look, the more you see that it really does. There are things going on, and patterns within patterns. And there's more than one way to reach goals. Maybe the world is "out to get us" without even really understanding why or knowing it, but we have a unique perspective. Maybe our uniqueness is what makes us targets, but it's also where our greatest strength comes from. I embrace who it is that I am. Even though it's not always easy. Even when it seems like things are impossible, I'll still try. I've always had an appreciation for the people who fight when they know they can't win. And sometimes, they do anyways. The harder the fight? The more the fighting means.

THIS PARAGRAPH HAS BEEN DELETED DUE TO MAKING ME SEEM REALLY COOL AND INTERESTING.

The happiest moments are the simplest for me, like rain hitting my window at night while I lie enveloped in my blankets. When it comes down to it, in every choice I make, I will always follow my heart. I do all my own stunts. And I'll only make matters better. Or worse. It depends on your perspective.

Some random interests of mine: Like you care! But seriously. You want to know more, please ask. I'm open and honest, a great listener, and I love intellectually stimulating (or at the least, intelligible) conversations. If you really want to know more, go to my LiveJournal and add me as a friend.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to reunite with old friends from every chapter in my life... Sometimes we are able to reconnect with those people we've lost touch with that meant so much to our lives, and this truly is a blessing. For not only are we gifted with the person we once loved, we get to know and love the person they've grown over time to become.

I'm also looking for some friends in the Eugene/Springfield area... To meet in real life and do stuff. Chicks to do chick stuff? Or playdates for the kids? I would like to find others, male or female, with common interests to talk and hang out with; I have just as much fun playing Scrabble as I do going dancing, so I am up for whatever sounds fun!

I am not opposed to meeting new people, but I will not respond to add requests, if I haven't even gotten a message from you. So drop me a line and say hi!

Here are some recent pics of my kids and me. Move your cursor over the photo to view the caption. You can also control the speed by pressing the + button!

And all of my friends are my heroes... "Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything." - Muhammad Ali
