The goal of those privy to the CSAW's capabilities is not to alter the future in a big way but to make improvements in their personal lives only. But is it possible to tinker with the past without affecting the future of the world in a broader sense?Knowledge of the CSAW is kept secret by the few who manage Rockit, but what happens when there is a breach of security and the future doesn't change as expected at times, even with careful planning – especially when wild card characters like Crazy Jimmy enter the picture. This ability to maneuver through time causes some of the main characters to consider a new philosophy of life: are people merely players who are able to control events in their lives as though they are residing in an elaborate virtual reality?
