Founded in 2001 with Alex, Marco and Gab, Name Withheld is a punk-rock band (Lagwagon, NOFX, Choke and Strung Out) that plays as fast as it can. It has played with bands like: Belvedere, The next best thing, Each on Set, Runt and continue to be quite active with some shows. P-O (guitar) joined the band in 2003. By adding his own melodic sound to the band, he completed what was going to be a four pieces of rock better known under the name of Name Withheld.During summer 2002, NW recorded his first demo. A six songs demo (producer: Jean-Philippe Denis) has allowed to the band to play in several places with many bands. Name Withheld opened for a sold out Belvedere show on November 15th 2002 at Montreal. This experience confirmed to each members that this was only the beginning of what was really going to be Name Withheld. At this point, the band started to be more serious in each project that it was involved in because the members knew that this was what they wanted to do as lifestyle. In the same year, Name Withheld had the chance to record a live performance at the Vieux Cloché de Sherbrooke which was very nice.2003 past by, with some shows and compositions times, until the winter season when NW was finally made of four members and was ready to push the limits off the hook. In summer 2004, Name Withheld recorded two songs for a compilation called NO STAGE (producer: Francis Bernier/Guillaume Bourdeau) with Production MDJ (Maxime Noel) and took this opportunity to make his own demo with these two songs.So far, Name Withheld had the chance to perform in most regions of the province of Quebec such as: St-Charles-Sur-Le-Richelieu, St-Bruno, Mont-St-Hilaire, Beloeil, St-Hyacinthe, Montreal, Plessisville, Granby, Chambly, Richelieu and Sherbrooke. A countless live performances has allowed to the band to play in many places like: Le Club Soda, Les Foufounes Électriques, Le Petit Campus, The Main Hall, Le Vieux Cloché de Sherbrooke, la salle de LX, bar Les Conneries, Le Pub de St-Bruno, le bar LAuthentique, bar Chez Terry, le Pub du Village at Granby, lÉglise Très-Sainte-Coeur-De-Marie, Bistro Laurier, bar Le Cirque, Ozias-Leduc High school, Sherbrooke University campus, Le Petit Cabaret and more.In summer 2006, the band had the chance to go on the road for the first time. Touring during a month and a half all across Canada from Montral to Tofino, the band is now looking forward for more tours and hopefully a new record for next summer.
After their Canadian Summer Tour 06, the band is still looking for shows and keeps rocking everywhere it goes!!!
