All coming from different bands of the Montreal area, the union of Fifty Stars Anger brought together various sources of talent. Our first official jam took place in none other than our drummer Chuck's basement and we started playing together officialy January 17, 2003. We spent three months of intense political and socialist punk-rock writing before being able to put our efforts into play and prove to the underground what weve really got. Much of our drive and creative insight is due to our greatly appreciated influences: A.F.I, Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, Good Riddance, Nofx and Rise Against.
Since our first few days playing in the basement, Fifty Stars Anger has come a long way. Weve had the honor of playing in over 230 shows with some of the best punk, hardcore, ska, and metal bands. That includes: A Dying Race, Anonymus, Bald Vulture, Belvedere, Break The Silence, Closet Monster, GFK, Ghoulunatics, Hostage Life, Mute, Nitro Minds, Overbass, Pridebowl, Protest The Hero, Subb, The Real Deal, The Reason, Youthinasia and many more. September 2003 after twelve hours of recording at "Studio le Garage", our first four songs EP entitled Everything we do is for our country was in the bag.
January 2005 we've recorded our first full lenght cd entitled "The protester's hymn" that came out during our Summer Coast to Coast Canadian Tour '05 with our good friends Emotional Distress. After playing in the Fuck Frosty Tour '06 with Youthinasia, we've signed a contract on the Ontario label "Dick Rawk Records" who'll make distribute our cd everywhere in Canada and U.S.A by "Universal". We've also signed a European contract with Shattered Thought Records for a European distro. The Protester's Hymn album is set for release in North America late summer 2007. We also apear on many Canadian, Americain and European compilations like *Canada: Let the battle begins/ Quebec punk-rock offensive/ The Battle Must Go On/ On case le son. *U.S.A: Sream for help (benefit comp for animals victimes of Katrina hurricane). *Polland: Punk against fascism. *U.K:(benefit comp. for breast cancer).
