Born in 1976, I lived in Bologna and Russi (my hometown) and occasionally in Brazil and Cuba, where I studied with Nene, Alexi Arce "Pututi I", Adel Rodriguez, Giba Conceicao among others. In Italy I've studied with various musicians, including the Berklee masterclass at Umbria Jazz '96. I'm living now @ Favela Chic, near Russi, where I record part of my things.
I've been playing and recording brazilian, world, jazz and pop music, with artists both in Italy and Brazil, some of them Ivete Souza, Nelson Machado, Patrizia Laquidara, Rogerio Tavares, Elio Camalle, Itapua, Yanez Servadei, Zeduardo Martins. I've been teaching drums for about 10 years and now I'm presenting a workshop titled "From percussions to the drumset in brazilian music".

-a record, still-to-be-released, by a band called Mr ZE' (Patricia de Assis-Marco Zanotti-Steve Girotti with musicians and guests: Toninho Horta, Arthur Maia, Ronaldo do Bandolim, Claudinho Andrade, Rogerio Bottermaio, Giba Conceicao, Giba Pinto)
-JACARE', a world-jazz ensamble (Cristina Renzetti, Rocco Casino Papia, Tim Trevor-Briscoe, Giancarlo Bianchetti, Davide Garattoni, Davide Bernaro, Marco Zanotti), whose album "Il Primo Passo" has been released July '07 by IRMA rec. and with whom i'm in tour.
-'Round: TAVARES 5 new album (out soon), recorded live in nov. '07, with Rogerio Tavares, Lucio Ferrara, Andrea Taravelli, Maurizio de Gasperi and Marco Zanotti.
-BREAK THE FUNK's new show, featuring Francesco Giampaoli (d.bass), Marco Zanotti (drums), Alien D (beat box), dj Caramel (turntables)
