NELSON MACHADO BAND
Brazilian guitarist, singer and songwriter Nelson Machado from Sau Paulo is one of the historical figures of brazilian music in Italy. The band plays compositions from his solo works besides mostly ANYTHING as far as brazilian music is concerned: samba, bossa, forrò, samba-reggae, etc. - the band repertoire is virtually endless!

Biography
I was born in Ravenna, Italy, on the 2nd of July, 1970. My first training as a musician has been in school, where i began singing in its local choir with the same conductor i've been singing in the following 12 years after finishing school, touring Italy and abroad and singing each kind of choral music (from medieval stuff, gregorian, reinaissance music, gospel, spiritual, etc.) in the most varied situations, mainly theaters and the like. So that was from my 12 up to my 27! In the meanwhile i began studying and playing drums in various bands, where we played some of mine compositions too. Through the last 10 years or so i've been studying ethnic percussion in Italy, Germany and Brazil with Dudu Tucci, Trilok Gurtu, Marcos Suzano, Paolo Caruso, Roberto Evangelisti, Mauricio Tizumba, Marcos Rezende, Francesco Pitillo, Antonio Gentile, Sergio Krakowsky, Jorge Martins, Arto Tuncybocian, Paulinho da Bateria...etc. At the present moment i'm playing percussion in several bands (Silvio Zalambani & Grupo Candombe, Jacaré, Nelson Machado Band, Antonio Calogero Ensemble), all of them playing their own compositions and having them published by italian indie companies.
