BACK IT UP!!!!!!!

About Me

It’s ALL about the HANG
This was the Bass Players Lair but there are so many of my favorite musicians I have dedicated this to be THE BAND ROOM!
MUSICIANS ARE WELCOME
I Believe in.......
CREATIVITY
DIVERSITY
HARMONY
and at times DISSONENCE (( G7 has to resolve to C ))
You Need other POINTS of VEIW to take a look at the big PICTURE That is the ONLY way we can GROW as Musicians and HUMAN BEINGS
I can play guitar and I am learning how to play piano, but I LOVE TO PLAY BASS and I can SING MY ASS OFF!!!!!!! I can read and I took upright double string bass lesson for a few years, that was a good experience, I can play with a lot more common scence.
My Main and (ONLY) Bass is a 1962 Vintage Model Fender Jazz Bass. I Call it the Millennium Falcon ("It doesn't Look Like Much, but it's got it where it counts.......Kid") Back in the early 90's when Nuno Bettencourt was the big gun slinger he played a Washburn guitar that had no finish.......I got a bright Idea and striped my Bass (Which was CHEESE DOODLE Orange at the time ) of its Paint and finish and like the Idoit I am sometime known to be, I also took off the Fender Logo! It also has Jumbo Frets, EMG Pick Up's, A Hip Shot, and of course a BADDASS II Bridge.
My rig consits of an old ADA Bass Pre-amp and an Older Crown 200 watt Power Amp that I got on Ebay for $100.00. It was powering subwoffers in a church for 15 yrs (HOW ABOUT THAT!)! and I run it through A JBL Monitor.
I am learning to Play Piano.I feel the piano is the ultimate instrument, if you can play and understand piano there isnt any other insturment you wont have a concept for. The Piano I have is a Yamaha P-60, It's Great! I'm halfway throught the Thompsons Piano Book 2!!

BASS

My biggest Bass Influence is WILL LEE of the Late Show with David Letterman Band. WILL LEE IS GOD!!!!!!! Back in the 80's when it was Late Night with David Letterman, I was Megga Music Motivated, and I used to stay up and watch Letterman back when he was on NBC. Dave used to give away those Late Night Face Blotters, the Elevator Races, they didnt have a Friday show, viewer mail was every Thursday(Which was cool cuz I was our on gigs every Friday and Saturday). I would stay up and watch the 12:30 am Show just to get to listen the the opening theme, or a few notes when they went into commercial or if I was really Lucky, they would back up a muciall guest. I remember when Billy Joel did A Matter of Trust Live It was great!!

I always wanted to be in a band THAT TIGHT. I thought the music selected was GREAT.

I Feel that PAUL SHAFFER is the CONSUMMATE Musical Diector. Fist of all, Paul is probably THE FINEST Pianist you would ever HOPE to LISTEN TO. He has a tremendous LOVE for the MUSIC, I have Never seen a show where He wasn't UP BEAT and POSITIVE, and The GENUINE RESPECT he SHOWS other Musicians and People in the Industry and the LOVE he GETS BACK, Proves his PRO-fessionalism.

Will Lee made me want to be a BETTER BASS PLAYER and a gigging musician. I loved his DEEP in the pocket Groove and NO MAN can SLAP like him.

The Down side of that was realistically Letterman is VERY FUNNY and I would often wake my parents Laughing at something Letterman did!!!!!!! LOL

Paul McCartney, Will Lee, Chuck Rainey, Bernard Edwards, Marcus Miller, Nathan East, Ron Carter, Rufus Reed, Billy Sheehan, Jaco Pastorious, John Petitucci, Anthony Jackson, Michael Anthony, Nikki Sixx, Mel Schacher, Donald Dunn, Geddy Lee, Sting and FRANZ SIMANDL
Sounds Like: I AM SO IN THE POCKET.......I BLEED LINT!!!!!!!
Record Label: Heart of Gold but sometimes a pain in the ASS!
Type of Label: None
