I am an astrophysicist (defrocked) and the host of SPACEGEEK.org , an online video show about the cosmos.
Defrocked: I used to teach university then one day, I walked into the chairman's office and said: I'm done! He said: What? He couldn't believe it, of course. Astronomers are lining up for jobs (any job!). Nothing personal, I told him, but I'm quitting! Why? he asked. So I gifted him with the only explanation that I could muster and he could understand. I told him in no unceratin terms, I must be insane! Which he accepted as the only plausible explanation. Scientists are so pratical.

I wrote The Sinusoidal Spaghetti based on experiences working with the Hubble and at Johns Hopkins University, where I received my PhD.
If you've read it , leave me a comment!
If you haven't, listen:
The Sinusoidal Spaghetti is an off-beat quirky scientific novel about an astronomer with Tourette Syndrome, an obsession and his psychiatrist.
You can read the first chapter online
Tourette Syndrome: in a nutshell it is a neurological condition chracterized by vocal and motor tics. The tics are involuntary and their incidence occur in varying degrees. Sometimes the vocal tics are articulate utterances that are repeated until another more juicy utterance is chosen by the subconscious.
