About Me

I am starting this site not soo much for me. More to spread the message about saving lives and for a place for ppl to connect with other ppl in the same situations.
Heres a lil about me though. I am 25 yrs old and I have just received a 3rd chance at life with my 3 kidney transplant. I am greatful to my father for donating my second kidney and to the familys of the persons whom I received my first and 3rd kidney from.
I waited 5 yrs for this recent one and was suppose to receive my sisters which was not the best suited match. The one I did receive was told by the doctors that a match of that quality would take another 10 yrs to find. Two weeks b4 I was suppose to get my sisters this incredibly miracle happend and they found me a near perfect match!

My Interests

Promoting organ donation awarness, reseaching up and comming advancements in the world of organ and tissue donation. Hearing other peoples stories and sharing my own.

Here are a few myths and facts about organ and tissue donation

Myth:

If emergency room doctors know you’re an organ donor, they won’t work as hard to save you. Fact: If you are sick or injured and admitted to the hospital, the number one priority is to save your life. Organ donation can only be considered if you die and after your family has been consulted.

Myth:

Having "organ donor" noted on your driver's license or carrying a donor card is all you have to do to become a donor. Fact: While a signed donor card and a driver's license with an "organ donor" designation are legal documents, organ and tissue donation is always discussed with family members prior to the donation. To ensure that your family understands your wishes, it is important that you share your decision to donate life.

Myth:

Organs are sold, with enormous profits going to the medical community. Fact: Federal law prohibits buying and selling organs in the U.S. Violators are punishable by prison sentences and fines. to donate life. Who I'd like to meet: Anyone-- Before you decide to be against organ donation consider yourself in a position where you needed a transplant, would you accept organs? If you would then why would you deny someone else the chance at life by refusing to ever donate yourself.

I'd like to meet:

DO YOU WANT TO BE A HERO? DO YOU WANT TO SAVE A LIFE?
THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF HEROS TODAY. THEY RANGE FROM FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS, TO POLICE, FIREFIGHTERS, MEDICS AND DOCTORS, AND EVEN ATHLETES AND CELEBRITIES.
BUT THE HERO I'M TALKING ABOUT IS THE SILENT, UNSUNG HERO. THE TYPE OF HERO WHO KNOWS THEY DID THE RIGHT THING WHETHER THEY’RE RECOGNIZED OR NOT; A HERO WHO NEVER KNOWS WHEN HE OR SHE WILL BE CALLED UPON. THE BEST KIND OF HERO! THE TYPE OF HERO I SPEAK OF IS AN ORGAN DONOR. ARE YOU THIS TYPE OF HERO?
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS SIGN YOUR DONOR CARD. YOU MAY BE CALLED UPON TO BE A HERO ONE DAY, OR YOU MAY ONE DAY NEED A HERO TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!
I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONSIDER SIGNING YOUR DONOR CARD. SPEAK ABOUT IT WITH LOVED ONES AND LET THEM KNOW YOUR WISHES. THINK OF BEING THAT UNSUNG HERO THAT MAY HELP AND SAVE AS MANY AS 50 LIVES!
BE A HERO, BE AN ORGAN DONOR.
This is about networking ppl with other ppl in the same situation soo if you would like to be added please tell a little about your situations in the comment section after. Sharing great storys is the only way to spread the word and save more lives!
