About Me
DJ Rim-K is a well known face in the Belgian Clubbing scene. He regularly lightens up parties with his groove, whether it’s in clubs, bars or private parties across the country and abroad. His sound is mainly deep, tech, electro house orientated but if there is enough time to wake up the late ’70s, ’80s and early ’90s then he likes to play classics from these eras as well.
Rim-k started buying his first records around 1992: trance, house, techno. He debuted as a DJ by doing warm-up’s at Club Extreme from 1993 till 1998.
From 1994 to 1996 Rim-k worked at the underground record shop Mission Control in Brussels. There he worked with Nick Calingaert, who later became the Planet E artist Common Factor with releases on labels such as SSR, Soma, Paper, etc. By working with Nick and being exposed to a huge amount of excellent 12's coming in the shop every week, Karim got to learn a lot about the different sides and styles of real dance music. At that point he became a resident DJ @ the Tour & Taxi club (‘96 – ‘98).
Since then he has been a regular DJ in such big clubs as the Fuse (for different occasions like Bump, the Ibiza parties and also the club’s 8th birthday with Stacey Pullen), Food, the massive Laurent Garnier joint at Silo, Mirano, La Rocca and a monthly resident at the Brussels famous Pablo disco bar.
Next to that, he’s done gigs for parties such as the KVS in Brussels, Mirano, Gyzmo projects and Decadance and Charlatan in Ghent, Bar Room and Café Capital, Café d’Anvers Freevibes and the ‘I Love Techno’ (35000+ people) festival’s VIP room.
DJ Rim-K is also available for DJ sets in clothing stores (he has played in Prive Joke, On, Mr. Ego, Essentiel Brussels).
Next to his sets in the Belgian clublife, Rim-K also played abroad on the lovely of island Ibiza at KM5, El Divino and Pacha Bar, Batofar (Paris) and Robert Johnson (Playhouse, Frankfurt). He's been on tour in Brazil for several parties in a row in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006,2008,.....
