resident is an independent record shop in brighton's vibrant north laine area established in april 2004. resident started out run solely by owners derry watkins & natasha youngs but has gradually grown to a team of serious music lovers who work together to give brighton's residents & visitors the kind of record shop they deserve.
we are a friendly informative bunch of people who aim to deliver the south coast's widest choice of new releases, an extensive quality back catalogue & heaps of amazing bargains. we don't specialise in any particular genre but stock music we love across the board from electronica to indie to reggae to jazz to hip-hop to soul to folk to blues and much more besides.
we provide a massive range of tickets for local venues so we're the people to talk to if you want to explore brighton's thriving live music scene. we also love hosting instore pas for a whole variety of acts.
